  1. We had this same offer on the Z this summer.  They gave us a separate card to show.  We occasionally went up to the bar in the casino to get drinks, but usually sat at a slot machine or table.  They do get to know you and the full bar menu was available. They aren't quick to push drinks so you really have to flag them down.  If you play at the tables and you mention you want a drink the dealer will flag down the wait staff for you.  I did a B2B on the Z and the first cruise my cabin partner (my sister) got the free drinks deal, but they gave me free drinks as well.  The second week, my sister went home and my husband joined me and I had the free drinks deal, but by husband didn't get the free drinks deal.  I agree with the post above, I'd print off the deal you got because if your name isn't on the casino manager's list for free drinks or casino cash you don't get them.

  2. When I book my own, I always try to do it the first part of our port day, having FTTF helps with this as you can get off the ship first. Last time we were in Jamaica we booked a resort for a day off of that same website and it was fantastic. We got back to the ship in plenty of time, but the traffic was bad, and after we got back to ship there was a bad fatality wreck on "the road" through town that shut down traffic for hours. There were 3 buses of people that got back to the ship hours after we were supposed to leave port, but because they were on Carnival excursions they held the ship. We are going back to Jamaica in December and have decided to do a Carnival excursion at that port this time, to be on the safe side.

  3. I'm going on the Dream in December and was looking around the Carnival sight on Friday evening. I realized that my VIFP number wasn't showing up on my reservation so I tried messing around with that when I looked to see if there were any VIFP benefits that could impact my upcoming cruise. When I looked at my benefits, it said, $25- 7 and 8 day cruises. I naturally clicked on it and it had a cruise out of Miami and one out Galveston leaving the next morning for $25 each. Just for giggles I clicked on the Galveston cruise and pretended my husband and I would hustle to Texas. It was for an inside cabin and for the two of us with taxes/fees totaled $240 something! I couldn't have gone on this cruise, but we live close enough to Seattle to hop on an Alaska cruise if it ever happens.

Has anyone ever seen this or taken advantage of this?

  4. We always cruise at Christmas because we have now teenagers in school. It is always full of families, but lots of extended families seem to be together during this time of year and kids hanging out together unsupervised. This doesn't deter us because it is the only time we can cruise. I can tell you if I could cruise another time of the winter, I'd do it.

  5. We went to Grand Palladium in December of 2015. There were lots of people from all over the world staying there. It wasn't horribly busy. Swim up bar, a couple of restaurants. The restaurants were buffets, the food was fine but nothing that I'd have to have again. We skirted around the pool with drinks in our hands and laid in the sun for a lazy day.

  6. We went to Montego Bay on a Carnival cruise two years ago. We went to a resort for the day, it was great, it was really expensive and other than the shuttle ride there we saw none of Jamaica. The ship was held for several hours past the sailing time because there was a fatality car accident and traffic was backed up literally for hours. Jamaica seemed sketchy. This December when we stop for our next cruise at Montego Bay, we will for sure book a cruise sponsored excursion due to what we saw last time. They held the ship for those individuals on the cruise excursion.
