1. The answer to your question depends upon:

    1. Which airline your flight was booked with;

    2. Do you have any status with the airline you are booked on; and

    3. Which fare category did you get booked on.

I can tell you from experience, that upgrading from the bulk ticket categories to either true PE ( read again true PE ,not the American carriers fake version thereof) or to BC can be unrealistically expensive. The question might be found in #2 above. However, I have seen Golds with regular economy tickets get upgrades before Platinums flying on bulk rate tickets. Ticket classifications matter!

There is no one size fits all answer to your question!

I haven't booked yet I'm just trying to see which is the better way to go. Viking air or do it myself. I fly Delta all the time so I would be going with them.

  2. Usually I rent a car and drive it down and then drop if off and pick one up again when we return. We live about 2 hours north of FLL. After reading this review and checking on-line, it is only going to cost about $62 and change for a 1 week cruise if you pay up front. This comes out to $7.99 per day instead of their usual $12 a day. This sounds to be a much better option then the $15 a day the port charges. I love CC!!!:D

Question, where did you get this price? I was just on their web site and it was $12 per day. Do you get this price of $7.99 after you pay?

  3. I was on a cruise and knew someone in a scooter who would go fast and if anyone was in her way, she would just honk her horn and kept right on going.

I have seen many people in scooters not care who was walking in front of them because they thought they had the right of way and were going too fast in the crowd.

This is so true, I was almost run over by a woman on a scooter. Did she care no she just kept going. They need to put speed limiters on the scooters that go on ships.

  4. Start with the ship you want to cruise on and see where that ship is cruising to. Most of the time ship cruises 2 different itineraries, One week they will do the western caribbean and the other week they will do the eastern caribbean. For instance I booked a BTB on the Vista next year, the first part is a 6 day cruise to the western caribbean and the second part is a 8 day cruise to the southern caribbean. It is best to stay with one ship, no re-packing and moving to another ship. Plus on the second part of the BTB you will have the whole ship to yourself for a little while before everyone else gets on board.

  5. True, but it depends on where your moral and ethical compasses lie.

I'll not use a blinker every once in a while, and might have a code violation in my backyard, but if it comes to affecting other people directly, those are rules I choose to follow.

No matter how you spin it, sharing drinks drives the price up for everyone. I'm not judging anyone for it, because, ultimately, I couldn't care less what grown men and women do on their own time.

    Well TomAceEsq

You are judging!! And if the drink package is unlimited how will it drive the price up for everyone? if I have 20 drinks one day and 19 drinks another day and my wife has 1 drink it's the same amount of drinks each day.

  6. And then they would make less revenue due to exactly what you quoted.

Why do people feel the need to come here and boast how they can't follow such simple rules?

Come on get real, I'm not boasting. That being said they make more than enough money off of the drinks packages. For they know that you will not drink to the max every day. And how many times have you followed a simple rule? Everyone breaks rules no matter how good they think they are!!

  7. We sailed on Princess and their beverage package is more flexible. Not everyone in the cabin as to buy the package. I bought the package and my wife didn't. Plus it is unlimited drinks. The only thing is you are not suppose to share drinks. But you know how that goes, I shared some drinks with my wife. Carnival should do the same thing not requiring for both people in the cabin to buy the package.

  8. Delta just moved our flight up from 11:15 to 10am on 4/8/16. I called them up and ask when we need to be at the airport. They said 2.5-3 hours before the flight. I told them that was cutting a little too close, since the ship was due to dock at 6am. Since they weren't any more flights that day I ask to move my departure to the next day. And they did it without charging me any fees or price difference since they had changed the departure time. So if you can move your departure to the next day, it will take a lot of stress out trying to get to the airport.

  9. Hope it's not a crazy Spring Break obnoxious time.

Wasn't really thinking too much about it except I just saw two friends post on FB who are on Liberty of the Seas and said it was crazy. His details were colorful lol. His is a 5 day cruise tho.

Ours is an 8 day cruise so I am hoping less Spring Break college crazy?

Oi!! Should I be worried or am I over thinking.

We sailed the Breeze on a 8 day cruise a couple of years ago this week. I thought we would escape spring break but we didn't since each part of the country has spring break at a different time. All I can say be prepared for a lot of kids on board!!

We will never cruise around spring break again.

  10.
I did not see any price increases on my 2 upcoming cruises after the beverage package was added to both.

    DaveOKC
My did go up it's the 14 New Zealand Discovery cruise in 2016. The price had dropped $800 now it's back up to the original price when I booked it.
  11. I see I was the contributor. I don't remember being annoyed by noise from above. If it had been an issue we certainly would have made a note to avoid that cabin in the future. In fact, we were quite pleased with the location and we were in that room for 29 days.

Thanks for the info, sounds like noise is not an issue I will upgrade to suite 8099.
