  1. Many of the TA's that give a big discount or big rebate want to be paid by check.. You can get a good deal with "Don't Leave Home W/O It" Platinum or Centurion Card Travel.plus rebate plus bonus points plus cruise credits.. Also, you have a big company standing behind what they sell even though only partly owned by Plat or Centurion now..  Refunds come quickly if needed.

Are you saying that you will ignore the H&S rules pertaining at the time you join the ship or that you intend to cancel and suffer the financial penalties of a late cancellation?

I am sure that Regent will only relax their rules when local regulations allow and when they are sure that the health of crew & guests will not be compromised.

Flossie, are you going to wear your voluntary mask on your cruise?

Funny How the EU has these mandates yet the individual countries made their own....  Kind of like the CDC and state like Texas and Florida.   Big brother doesn't always know best!

The world is slowly normalizing , I didn't realize that over 20% of Italy's and Greece's GDP is tourism...  That's why all the rules are finally going bye, bye.. People have to eat and pay rent

Disembarked Splendour yesterday 2nd  May, masks needed as said, but there are some who just ignored the mandate.  Unfortunately senior staff didn’t enforce the rules, so those people just did what they wanted. Even on buses on excursions with signs on said buses saying mandatory mask wearing, either they can’t read or are just ignorant to other passengers health and safety.

Its not pleasant wearing the masks, but  for your fellow passengers,  please while the rules are there follow them.
Re the passengers who wouldn’t wear the masks anywhere,  the ones that did, were anxious going out on tours until they knew they where not on the same tour.

Apart from this issue, the rest of the cruise was fantastic. Enjoy

Well, thank God I'll be cruising from Greece in June.... Where they have some sanity.. https://www.thesun.ie/travel/8733980/greece-covid-rules-scrapped-holiday/

Just got this and it seems pretty stupid considering UK and Ireland (the only ports) don’t require masks  nor tests either but yet we get this.  Come on regent use some sense on this!   Hopefully this is just for EU show (and I know Ireland is in the EU) and the crew just ignores most of this.

    3)    Face Coverings

At this time, based on current EU Healthy Gateway guidance, face coverings are required onboard while indoors, except for when actively eating, drinking, exercising or when in your stateroom or suite. Face coverings are also required for a staff member to enter your suite.

We will continue to provide updates based on EU Healthy Gateways guidance.

Well, I have a cruise coming up June 26th from Athens to Athens to Rome.. I'll be damned if we need to wear masks on the cruise. I have 3 cabins booked for my family costing some $140K. If masks are required onboard  better to cancel the cruise and give the me my money back.. I'll rent a villa w a yacht on the Italian Riviera in Liguria for the family for the 18 days

    Additionally,

We've stayed in GS785, 2 years ago and will be in MS967 on London  to Barcelona CHATEAUX & VINEYARDS 14 Nights Departs Sep 23, 2019. Any comments on MS967 would be welcome as well..

  7. I do not see any reviews of the GS Aft.

The picture and layout on the website is the same as the explorer suite. which differs from one of the video's

trying to get some feedback. before I travel in March.

    Hi Windjammerguy,

We had seen your review of the GS Aft suite on Explorer. Wondering if you had any picts of the suite and terrace? We will be sailing in suite 785 Oct 21st for two weeks from Rome and wanted to get an idea of it as there are no pictures on the Regent site. It will be my wife, my 15 month son Lorenzo and I traveling.

Thanks so much in advance if you're able to help. Please email to davidericberger@yahoo.com

    Regards,

  8. Iamheisenberg: that line is one of the great lines in film history.

I see absolutely nothing wrong with a magic handshake and my husband shakes hands on the first day of the cruise. We always tip at the end of a cruise, even though we are on all inclusives, so,why not tip as a tip was originally designed for "To Insure Promptness".

    Hi Cruisr,

I generally never respond to these posts. But in this instance I totally agree with you and think reserving a specific table in advance makes perfert sense. People complaining about this practice seem to have too much time on their hands and have no idea why the couple referenced may have made that request. Could it be that was the table where the couple got engaged or have a fond memory? Why would anyone think of intervening whithout knowing the backstory to ruin someone's enjoyment of the evening?

Really too many busybodies on these threads. (for all who feel they may fit the definition see Theophrastus Ch XIV if unsure)

  9. Hi Everyone... I would like to ask an opinion from this group. We are already on the pre to Siem Reap on the 2018 Singapore to Sidney. Since I doubt we will ever be back to that particular area again, the DW and I would like to do a couple extra days pre pre on our own. We are staying in the hotel of choice from Regent which is weirdly " The Regent"...

I would like to know from those who know or know someone who has been there how many days extra they would stay and what they would see.

Before I am gently told that there are areas of the board to ask this...I do not (respectfully) want an answer like... go to Universal Singapore..which although I am sure is remarkable...Florida is much closer...I hope that does not come off too rude..

So, I guess I am curious from this group what they would do and see - time extra as well

    Thanks in advance..

    Dear Fellow Cruiser,

If you are not intending to travel this part of the world anytime soon thereafter I suggest you spend a few days in Hong Kong on the way and travel to Singapore via Cathay Pacific with a stopover. Hong Kong is magnificent and one of the most nteresting cities in the world.. Stay at the Peninula or Intercontinental with a Harbour view easy to walk about Kowloon and take the Star Ferry to Hong Kong Island.

    Regards,

    david

  10. Dear Fellow Regent Friends,

My wife, my son (he'll be 14 months when we embark) and I are reserved to travel on the Explorer Oct 21st in the Med (Rome to Barcelona) for 14 days. We are debating on GS 1015 vs. GS 785? Would anyone have any insight into which cabin would be best, pros and cons. We liked the idea of 785 for the larger balcony but maybe it may be too noisy or better to have the larger suite interior?

We cruised on the Voyager and Mariner four times previously in GS and Voyager, and Mariner suites but have little info on the SS Explorer's suite 785 as there are no pictures or suite plans of that cabin (or 784) available online just suite 1015 (and 1012) which used to be an "Explorer Suite" until Regent changed the name.

I've called RSSC for help and they don't seem to have the info readily available either. I've been waiting several days for them to get back to me. Pretty strange if you asked me. Ever bought a car sight unseen? You'd think if they were selling something so expensive they'd have some sort of photos and room layout.

Thanks so much for your advice and assistance in advance,clear.png?emoji-smile-1742

  12. Dear Caroldoll,

Was wondering if you could help us w some additional info regarding GS 785. My wife and my son (he'll be 14 months old when the cruise begins) are scheduled to cruise Oct 21st for 14 days in the Med. We have booked 785 due to its large balcony but are debating vs. 1015 with the larger interior and narrower balcony.

Any further insight you could give us as to your experience or even pictures of the cabin and deck would be most welcome.

    Thanks so much,:)

The Grand Suite, in my opinion is useless. The couch is a sleeper which is very uncomfortable, and the chair is horrible. There is a hallway effect when you go in and to get to the table and chairs is a chore, very tight. This was suite 785. We wanted to have guests, but the layout was dysfunctional.

The doors to La Terraza are not automatic and horribly hard to work.

Lack of TV for three days was horrible and boring. We went through most of the movies that we had not seen.

The food in the buffet, in my opinion is horrible, really horrible. Including breakfast.

The crew were amazing, including...all of them, very friendly and helpful.

The food in Prime 7 was amazing (but not the lobster). Chartreuse, only so-so and Pacific rim, the Lobster is amazing.

The ship is absolutely beautiful. No fault in my opinion.

We took some tours and they were good as tours go, no complaints.

Met Thundery, Oceans and Patters and Snack Daddy. All great people.

We have booked one month next year on The Explorer, but not in a Grand Suite. Hope the next accommodations are much better.

My husband and I used the sinks outside the buffet every day, more than once. Nice touch.

We didn't do a tour in Acapulco. They had half of the Army in the cruise terminal, so I think they are doing damage control.

We Loved the Explorer Lounge with Nature's Rhythm. Fabulous.

The boutiques were boring! LOL, we would have bought a lot more.

Don't flame me which is what usually happens. These are all my opinions.
