  1. Thanks for the information. We are on the Equinox sailing in Sept. Was looking at probably 2 nights for the specialty dining. Once in Tuscan Grille and one night in Murano. Just trying to decide if it would be better to get the package or just hope for snagging a discount on board. Thanks again

What about Qsine? You may want to purchase a 3 pack. I guess you can always purchase one while on board the ship. They don't often sell out.

  2. I am used to Princess's web site which is so easy to navigate.

I have searched and searched within my reservation and even outside of it, to no avail. And then when I searched for "excursions" I did get a sampling of excursions. Upon choosing "Caribbean," it then downloaded excursions from everywhere but the Caribbean. [emoji36]

I am usually a do-it-yourselfer, but since we have a lot of OBC I at least wanted to weigh our options. [emoji46]

Yes I agree. They recently made changes to their website. I called the X website experts and they walked me through it. Here's what I did: go to the celebrity website, click on 'check in'. Another window pops up, here is when you can sign in. Your reservation should appear and click on 'Explore Cruise Planner'. Now that's jumping through hoops!

  3. We are sailing on the Eclipse 14N S Carib and purchased a 7 Sp Dining package. We enjoy the sp restaurants much more than the MDR. I rate the Murano as #1. Tuscan Grille has great atmosphere. What a spectacular view! The only problem is that their steaks are not that thick enough, especially for a 'steak house'. I'm going to see if they will cut to size. I also liked the Lawn Club Grille. Unfortunately it's only on the Silly and the Reflection (probably the Edge too). The Qsine is fun too. The food is very interesting there. I think all the Sp. Rest. have much more to offer than the MDR. Yes they are expensive but you are on vacation and deserve it!

  4. I have been told by CBSA (Cdn customs) that all ships must provide a list of onboard purchases to their department. They said whether they act on it depends on the exemption declaration unless you display some "attitude".

I agree, a lot depends on your ATTITUDE. We recently cruised January 2016. 2 of 4 members of our party each made on board purchases of over $2k. Which they did not declare it on their customs forms. A soon as we disembarked our party was pulled over by customs. The 2 individuals were asked if they made any purchases. The customs official said something to the effect of "I'm giving you a chance to come clean".

Both people in our party did 'come clean' and admitted the purchases were made and the items were not previously declared. The acted very humble to the customs agents. I believe that because of this attitude they were not fined. I also believe were were flagged because the purchases were reported by the cruise line. They will also be watched in the future by customs.

  5. Chaka ~ I'm not sure if you are referring to joining your roll call or signing up for the Celebrity Connections party on board. The roll calls reside here on cruise critic and you don't need to register for them. If it's the party you are trying to register for, you need your booking ID number and your name as it appears on your cruise confirmation. This is the same information you need to log onto Celebrity's website to take care of your on-line documentation. Have you tried logging on to MY CELEBRITY to see if your booking ID and name work there? If they do, they should work for signing up for the CONNECTIONS party to as it's working from the same database.

So let me know if you are referring to the roll call or the party and I'll try to assist further. Let me know what ship you are on and what your sailing date is.

Hi Anne, I was able to sign up for the CC Party, but I'm confused, I thought the Roll Call and the Party were one in the same. Thanks, Curtis

  6. There have been several threads started here recently on the main Celebrity board where cruisers are searching for others sailing with them. It occurred to me that we have so many new members here on Cruise Critic that many may not be aware that we have a ROLL CALL section within Cruise Critic where you can find others cruising with you.

Therefore, I thought I'd post a quick note to explain what ROLL CALLS are and how you can find one for your sailing.

    WHAT ARE THEY?

Roll Calls were started for individual cruise lines so that our members could "meet up and chat with" others who they'lll be sailing with. This made it much easier to find others on your cruise instead of scrolling through all the threads here on the main Celebrity board.

HOW DO YOU FIND YOUR ROLL CALL?

There is a separate ROLL CALLS section on the main page of our BOARDS. Here is a link directly to the ROLL CALL area for Celebrity ships (called Celebrity Connections). http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=206 Click here and then locate your ship that you'll be cruising on. You'll then have to scroll and search for your particular cruise. Celebrity's roll calls are very popular and you can usually find a roll call for sailings within six months of your cruise.

WHAT IF I CAN'T FIND A ROLL CALL FOR MY SAILING?

You can start one! In the thread title, be sure to include the name of your ship, your sail date and year. Some roll calls get started very early, others start closer to sailing dates; some are very active; some tend to be a bit more quiet. Regardless of how active a roll call is, this is a great opportunity to meet some folks sailing with you.

IF MY ROLL CALL IS SLOW, CAN I POST IT ON THE MAIN BOARD?

No. Please don't post threads looking for others cruising with you on the main boards. Roll calls became so popular that there was a need to set up a separate area for them. We ask that you keep roll call discussions to your roll call in the ROLL CALL area and keep the main board open for general Celebrity cruise discussions.

If you need assistance with a roll call, please feel free to contac me or Host Walt and we'll be happy to help.

Hi Anne, I need help. I tried to register but it wouldn't work. I kept on getting a prompt to enter a correct last name. I called X Reservations but they were of no help. They would not register me-they said I had to do it online. I even tried to register a friend who is cruising with us but that didn't work either. Any ideas? Thanks, Curtis
