  1. Any tips on getting to Caminito Del Rey from Malaga on May 3rd?  It looks like general tickets are sold out and the earliest guided tickets are at 3:00pm.  Not sure that gives us enough time to walk it and get back to our ship by 5 pm in Malaga.  I would really like to do this tour, either join another group or go on our own.  I speak spanish so can act as translator for the group.

Any helpful ideas would be welcome!  Especially from anyone familiar or local to the area.

    Thanks,

    Jana

  2. Hubby wants to hike up the Volcano in St. Kitts.  He is looking for hiking buddies (min of 4 people required).  It's apparently not for the faint of heart, or knees. Explore the 3,792-foot (1,156-meter) Mount Liamuiga on foot during this 6-hour guided trek. With a small group, travel through the village of St Pauls in an open-top safari truck into the tropical forest. $100. Please contact him at brucehoppe@earthlink.net if you are interested in going. Meet up is 30 min after ship docks, at the port www.oneilstours.com or 869 665 1384

We are coming on the Carnival Breeze.

    Thanks,

    Jana

  3. You dock right in Old San Juan in Puerto Rico, right? There are 2  hop on hop off trolleys that goes around old town. One does the perimeter the other goes into town and both are free.  In town there is a walking park area with vendors and kids running all around. I don't know if it has playground equipment but he would be able to run.

  4. How did you arrange that?

Our mission was the same and yes the best spots and usually only spots are offshore.

If you have not searched these boards and past roll calls (we went on the Marina April 2016 to FP) you should - lots of references

One tip - On Bora Bora we hired our own Boston Whaler 16 ft skiff and we jumped from spot to spot in two hours that took the excursion boats 6 hours.

    Again search including Google

  5. A fellow pickleball player on the cruise!! Yay!! Do you think we could actually play on the ship?? My husband and I both play. Here's my email- let's keep in touch. janahoppe@earthlink.net

    Thanks,

Newbie here on our first Oceanic Cruise.. Sparkling Pacific. Marina. Feb 25th.

We are an active couple.. Enjoy workout classes and pickle ball tennis.

I have gone through the Life on Board and Activities class. Wondering the quality of the instructors. If you are looking for a good workout are there instructors on-board to lead workouts in the classes offered?

Looking at the weather in the area. looks like the morning time will be the time to get the workout in.

Also how active are the sport courts to find other players?

Need a way to work off the intake of those quality calories.

  6. Hello,

I had a couple of question with the hopes that someone could help me try and plan something for our stop in Port Canaveral. We are leaving on the NCL Breakaway from NYC and one of the stops is Port Canaveral. There are 6 of us total. I would love to go to Disney but after reading some reviews I see that it is not really worth it for such a short amount of time. I wondered about taking the NCL transfer to Disney and just going to Downtown Disney (I think the new name is Disney Springs but not sure). Will this work? Has anyone tried it? I would not mind renting a van but then I would have to get 2 car seats since I am bringing my 2 and 4 year old with us and i rather not chance it because my luck would be that we end up late and missing the ship. So any suggestions would be great. Thanks

We live close to Cape Canaveral. What date will you be in town? We have toyed with the idea of opening our home for the day to cruisers. You would be able to use our kayaks, canoes, swimming pool and fish right in our backyard. We live in a gate community.

  7. We just got back from doing the Xrail Dune Buggy tour and we had a great time riding them! There was lots of mud holes and we got filthy, so dress accordingly.

Unfortunately we had to take a taxi to Playa Uvas, the pick up location (an extra $21), then we had to wait there for almost an hour before taking another taxi to the actual location. Then again we ended up sitting an waiting for 30 minutes for our tour guide to show up.

It was lobster night on the ship so we were worried about getting back on time. So we rushed out afterwards, no drinks or snacks for us! As we are boarding the taxi a girl called Marie (spelling) told us the taxi would only take us to Playa Uvas. I told her that was not the agreement we had. The agreement was they would take us all the way back to the port. She said " That's not my problem" and walked off!

So I had to fight with the taxi driver to take us all the way to the port. I showed him and gave to him the paperwork we got from the company assuring us that they would take us to the port but he just kept saying "Not my problem". I kept after him and told him it was bad way to do business, told him we wouldn't get out of the car till we got to the port. So he took us to the port. I did not enjoy having to have a fight ( I speak fluent spanish) and having to threaten to go on Cruise Critic and Trip Advisor before getting what we were promised. Very unprofessional of the company!! This is the name we booked under.

I will be contacting them and updating you on what they say. You can book this through the ship, and that might be the safest thing to do. I usually handle all our own bookings privately and have never had such a bad experience before.
