  1. i'm wondering about daytime temps at sea between the Canary Islands and FtLauderdale.....we have not done this before, and it becomes a packing issue...of course, it is always fairly toasty inside, but we love being out on deck. Looking for info from the experienced "regulars"

    Ct Kay. ...

  2. I'm quite offended to the the term alcoholic package! Because people drink alcohol, it does not make them an alcoholic!

It might be a language misunderstanding, and if that is the case, I do apologize.

Yup, it's a language problem.....the word can be an adjective describing something or a noun, referring to a person. The writer was using it as an adjective to describe the package, hence you should not be offended.

    Be happy!

  3. I've read that there has been a sale on the BPs for the Oct. 20 transatlantic from Rome.....is it still on? How do I get details and order it? I was originally told there were no packages being offered as perks on the TAs....I get that, but would still like to have one if the price is right!

  4. Back last week and here is my mini-take...

MDR food and experience is not as wonderful as in the past. Celebrity has done away with the parade of waiters/ flaming baked Alaska event, which was always such a celebratory way to wind up the cruise. Dessert portions were tiny. Even the bread is a few steps lower than in previous sailings. One significant change is in the "openers".....you used to be offered an appetizer AND a salad, two courses. That appears to have been combined. However, there is NO reason why you can't order two...your waiter is there to serve you, not correct you! My husband frequently ordered a soup as well as escargots, his faves. Same thing with the main course....often ordered a pasta " for the table", in addition to his entre.

I agree, the beef Wellington is offered on the same night as the lobster, the second formal night, and ours was great! No complaints about the quality or service that night...those poor guys worked hard.

We had a meal in both Qsine and Tuscan Grill....both well done. Our friends actually split an entre in the TG, it was so generous, and the service was very nice. Saw a whole table of crew dining in Qsine, so that says something...always an interesting experience. Tried to pick up a quick supper at Bistro on Five on Saturday but the whole staff was sitting together at a table and we could not even get seated....at 8:00!

I think having created "levels" of dining has left the MDR for the peons...sorry

  5. You have only to look at it! Even the servers looked embarrassed when we were on the Canada cruise last Oct. it will be good to be back on the Summitt, tho.We toyed with getting one of the "new" cabins on three where the conference rooms used to be, but opted for a veranda instead.

Regarding Bistro on Five, had the best burger of my life there as I recall.....

  6. I felt that his jokes and even body language were inappropriate and too suggestive

...also disdainful I would say. His job is to make people comfortable and happy.....just did not feel the love there. His inappropriate remarks screamed "I really don't like my job".....at first I thought it was an act but, unfortunately, that was really him. Hope to not meet him again this summer.

Anyone remember the two fellows from the Connie a couple of years ago? Now, they were truly entertaining and personable! Where did they go????

  7. If you decide to stay on St. T. you must snorkel at Coki Beach -- taxi will take you there. If is adjacent to Coral World, and they put feed out for the fish -- you will be amazed. Do not be put 0ff by the many venders....just smile and say, "No, Mon..."

Saphire is pretty but the snorkeling can be disappointing.

StJohn is do-able, but you will cry because you are not staying there!!

  8. ...how about sending an email -- the cyberlounge must have been open.

Sorry, but your crankiness is poor form. Let's see....you did not opt to book with Celebrity but you want them to be responsible for your disappointment.....hmmmmm
