  1. I don't know if they do, but it would definitely be in their interest for Princess to serve black eyed peas on New Years Day.

If you eat black-eyed peas on New Years Day, then you will have money throughout the year. If I have money throughout the year, then I will spend a bunch of it on more cruises.:) If I don't eat black-eyed peas on New Years Day, then I will not have the money to go on more cruises.:(

Exactly, have black eyed peas and turnip greens on New Years day and you will have money all year. Has always worked for me and I’m not taking any chances.

  2. Sounds like you get annoyed easily.

Are those drones flying around you every day?

    How about those comfort dogs?

I must lead a sheltered life since I've only seen one in my life flying around- - and that was only for 2 minutes.

Where are all these drones?

    Yes

No, just at some events I have paid to see.

    It only takes one.

Yes you probably do lead a sheltered life.

In the air over almost every event.

  3. I wish it would happen but Princess does not care at all. You can have security and reception called by over 100 passengers and they will not do a thing.

I had a cruise on the Emerald Princess back in January this year and I actually have video proof of the same sort of activity happening. There were feral children running, jumping, diving, somersaulting into the swimming pools and preventing fair and reasonable access for all cruise passengers. It was a mess. I stood up on deck one afternoon high on the deck for a sailaway and set up the video and caught it all as I panned across the decks of the ship as we left port.

I made several complaints to reception and security even in writing and nothing was done at all. The staff on Princess did not care and could not be bothered enforcing the rules.

I thought this was just a problem unique to Australia and the feral children that get on board here but unfortunately it is not.

I have also sailed regularly in Japan in their holiday season and the best thing about Japan is that the children are 100% perfect and well behaved and do not muck around at all.

I am going again on the Diamond Princess in January next year as part of the family holidays. I will be taking a 10 year old with me and I have already laid down the law to him regarding pools and it will be strictly enforced by myself when he is on the ship with me because I know how bad feral children can get and I will not have my name associated with taking feral children with me.

    Feral children, best description yet.

  4. We have cruised a lot, HAL and RCCL and Princess and kids are out of control. Trashing rooms beyond anything we have ever seen and parents do nothing. I feel parents need to be made accountable on all counts and pay for damages.

Just my own opinion....we have no kids...you need to consider dogs or cats...kids with fur. Our goldens would have been in the pool and not bothered anyone. Kids are an annoyance and parents who let them in areas they should not be, like the spa pool, should have them taken out with a fine. Just my opinion...many other areas for the kids to be.

I just hope that dogs and cats are never allowed on ships.

  5. I wonder how many order 2 entrees and waste most of one. I have no problem with someone who eats all or most of both entrees, but with the hunger issue around the world, if an additional charge slows down the number of people ordering and wasting, I have no problem with it. It would make me be sure I could eat most of the meal before ordering the extra stuff. For those who do eat more than one, no problem. I tend to do multiple appetizers and desserts throughout the cruise, but I do try my best to finish what I order unless I find out I don't like a dish.

You should eat it even if you don't like it,after all somewhere, somebody is hungry.

  6. Actually, the only time I've seen grits on a menu was when I've been in the South. Our Southern cousins eat some (to me) bizarre things. One of my MILs favorite dishes was scrambled eggs and BRAINS. I kid you not! Not sure where they get the brains and don't want to know.

Yep, us Southern folks do eat strange stuff, like Grits, but you won't catch us eating anything strange like Polenta, which other regions seem to think is some kind of delicacy.

  7. What right do you have to demand others you do not know to provide YOU with a noise free tour? Sounds like you are against having children anywhere you are at. Why not demand they not be allowed in dining areas and any general public areas so you will not be disturbed. Also while you are at it why not demand they only allow quiet children to be around you that do not have to have their diaper changed. Better yet why do you not go to places and events that post no children allowed so you will not have to be around them.

Uh, one(1) kid can ruin the experience of forty(40) adults who have paid a lot of money for the experience.

  8. I will bring up another point and I expect to be flamed on this. All children and even well behaved ones misbehave and cry at times. What right to do have to subject the rest of the bus passengers to a crying or ornery child - especially if they are trying to hear the tour leader talking about what the bus is passing. Also, since your child will not be potty trained, where do you plan to change her if all the seats on the bus are filled.

    DON

    I agree.
