Thank you all for the replies. We will not be returning to NYC as it's the Vista repo to Miami. My husband is a bit of a recluse and wants to watch from the balcony. I forgot about the bridge. I may be able to convince him to watch from the upper decks if only to watch going under the bridge.

I want to book a balcony on the Vista next year. I would like to watch us sailing by the Statue of Liberty from my balcony. Which side of the ship do I need to be on?

I will be on the Fascination next week and have seen that the new wifi plan is in place. I am planning on getting the basic internet package. I know that I can contact my family with Facebook and messenger, but does anyone know of a wifi/text option? (I will still be paranoid about using my phone and being surprised by charges, so will just be using my tablet.) We have a friend that will be checking on our house and he doesn't Facebook, so want to find a way to check in with him via text messages.

I kept in contact with friends using the What'sApp texting app. I had my friends that didn't already have the app download it and we were able to keep in touch that way. It worked great on ship and no extra charges. :)

Your HMC pictures are amazing! I've seen tons of pix from there (haven't made it myself yet :mad: ) but yours really stand apart from the rest! I also never knew there was a shopping area there. Thanks so much for your extensive review.

If a GC is used on board can you get cash out with it from the kiosk? Also if you don't use it all is a new GC issued or do you get a check like with cash?

I don't know about getting it out of the kiosk, but you can cash it out at the casino. Go to a slot machine, enter your S&S card, and charge the amount you want to your room. I check my balance before going to the casino. I think it was increments of $5. You can then select cash out and take the slip to the cashier. I did this on my last cruise with my $210 so I didn't have to wait for a check to be mailed to me.

I ordered Nonna's meatballs as my appetizer....they were delicious

 

This was what I had been waiting for....the Chicken Parmesan. It was so delicious. Hands down the best thing that I have ever had to eat in all of our cruises

OMG Brianna! I went to Cucina alone on my 2nd night of the Breeze and got the free carafe of wine, and ordered the same exact dinner that you did. I agree, it was so delicious! Maybe on the Breeze repo, we can have dinner together so we don't have to eat alone.

I called my agent at Carnival to see if Liberty had the new wifi plan and he said that he had never heard of it. I told him that they had it on Sunshine last month and I was hoping that Liberty would have it when I sailed on 1/16. He thought that maybe it was being tested on Sunshine and didn't think any of the other ships had started the new plan. Sure hope he's wrong!

I believe it's only being offered on Sunshine, Breeze, and Freedom at this time.

I submitted mine by email on 1-3-15 and received confirmation email yesterday. I also did not see it on Cruise Details with other OBC. I then checked Print Cruise documents and it was there along with the other OBC. Hope this helps. Happy cruising

Was it listed separately or combined with the total. I'm looking at print documents and the amount showing is only the $50 promotional.

You should receive an email (if you gave them it) from the Guest Service Administrator. I use email to forward my broker statement to Guest Service Administration when requesting my on board credit.

I did provide an email and got a response back that it would be added to my account. However, my OBC shows "Promotional Onboard Credit $50.00 Nonrefundable." My cruise is an 8 night on the Breeze so eligible for $100 shareholders credit.

I have 100 shares of Carnival stock. I've received the OBC several times. I thought that it was listed separately on a different line. When checking my OBC, I only have one total. How can I tell if the OBC for the shareholders credit has been added?

There's our newlyweds. My dad and I gave them those shirts for a wedding gift. I had them made with their proposal photo from BC7. Smokey proposed onstage with John Heald's help during last year's Bloggers cruise

Did you get the double points for using your Carnival MC or just standard points? I think my husband said it would go through as a Verizon charge and not a Carnival charge. Just wondering. :)

Yes it is one and the same. When I get home I put magnets on the back- they sell them at Office Max to put behind business cards- and make refrigerator magnets out of them. Just gained six more ;)
