  1. We have booked up a cruise out of Miami on Oasis of the Seas in Nov 2023.  Taking our girls too, so 4 of us this time.

Flying in Southwest the night before and was looking for a Miami based hotel that might offer an airport shuttle and a cruise port shuttle service?

Having never been there was hoping someone with some experience can recommend (or not recommend) a decent stay and transport option.

    Thank you!

    Will & Stacey

  2. Never flown in or sailed out of Baltimore, but we are booking an 8 night on Enchantment and I was curious if there are any hotels that offer shuttle service from the airport (flying in the night before), overnight stay, then shuttle to the cruise port the next morning?

Worst case we can always use a taxi or uber, just thought I would ask others who may be able to guide me to a good place in that area offering reliable shuttles (and costs if you know them).

    Thank You,

    Bill 🙂

  3. We head out dec 2nd on Anthem and my mom and daughter have been asking me a few questions that I don't have direct answers for along with an aunt who has never cruised before, so the ship, port and questions coming in aren't ones I am used to, i figured i would ask here :)

Our hotel is right outside the airport, but they don't provide any shuttle services only to and from the airport. Can we use a service like uber or is there a service nearby (hotel was absolutely no help asking via phone). Our normal routine is Florida and we know our way around well but we wanted to try anthem out of NJ so this is our first time in that port.

Is there anywhere onboard to get distilled water for a cpap?

My youngest wants to know (we did book the internet package) if she can actually stream netflix or not, I just have her downloading a few things on her ipad from the available to download area in netflix just in case. She also wanted to know if she could facetime with her older sister who will be at home again I didn't have a direct answer as i normally ditch the phones and electronics on vacation.

We have cruised allure 4x now and know it well, I showed my youngest who is 9 the anthem on youtube and she's excited but wanted to know of adventure ocean is as good on anthem as allure? We had read 2 reviews that said it was way overpacked with kids, although we sail Dec 2nd so not really in a holiday or school break time frame, I just explained there are so many things to do even if she didnt like it (she loved allure every day she lived there), but worst case we hit the pools or other fun activities.

I have read and seen stuff about noro on Anthem I hope things are better for everyone involved I have a 9 year old who touches EVERYTHING so I even packed some cleaning wipes for our room lol.

Whatever happens we are a go with the flow family and will make adjustments as we go, just traveling with a different group than normal and the questions coming in from them I don't quite have the answers to ;)

  4. Due to some unfortunate events I have had to cancel 2 of my last vacations for 2017, I have quite a bit of air credit that I will lose at the end of May and more I will lose in June.

Schedules don't allow my wife and I to go together she went on the last one with my kids and they loved it but I couldn't go due to a torn calf muscle doctors orders about flying and blood clots or I would have gone.

So I sit with all this air credit and my wife can't get time off again so soon, I thought where or what would I like to do?!?! I am a cruiser more than any other vacation option, so I figured maybe check into a cruise on my own.

Are there any lines that don't double charge you for having just one to a room? I am pretty open to any cruise line, port, etc as long as Delta flies there from Detroit, but my delta credit ends May 31st so I would need to do something quick.

Never been in this sort of situation usually a well planned out family or wife and I cruise, not opposed to doing it just seems quite different since I don't even know if I can book a room without paying for 2 occupants etc.

Thanks for any ideas or suggestions.

  5. Today was just awesome we were in port at St Martten enjoyed some port shopping mom stayed onboard she prefers the cafe and just relaxing vs navigating the scooter thru crowds.

Our 7 yr old stayed in adventure ocean until dinner then went right back as day 5 today was pirate day! We made it to the prominade to watch them March thru it was quick but they loved it ;)

Had a great dinner mom hit the casino since it was closed while in port, our teen is in bed just texting, Stacey and I may hit the casino visit mom play a bit more or catch some music at one of he many venues.

Great day though first trip away from home on thanksgiving so it felt odd but festive ;)

  6. Went to the cafe for some coffee to take meds and there was a full fledged football game going on right in front of cafe and guest services I just got my coffee and left ;)

Never saw anything like this on past cruises I'll be checking out the 29097000134737 later for sure I brought earplugs for sleeping I may take them to dinner, last night we were trying to have a conversation and we couldn't even hear ourselves which now that I look back was kinda funny just trying to roll with it and enjoy these last few days on the flip side I've seen some adorable kids and well mannered ones too ;)

  7. We have enjoyed our two cruises here but the difference between these two weeks is night and day, even in main dining room it is so crowded and loud we couldn't even hear ourselves at the table, I actually got up and left before desert I couldn't take the sound it was just soo loud!

Places I usually go for some quiet were all just packed cafe prominafe for coffee in mornings just busy and louder than last week, yesterday hit Central Park which is normally pretty peaceful we had 6 little kids who we couldn't identify a parent just chasing running screaming theowing some little boomerang thing guess I am getting old but I was looking for a quiet space.

My next attempt was the solarium thinking it would be nicer but it was just packed! I've spent more time moving around to find a quieter spot than ever here, my moms in a scooter and this is much harder for her this week too elevators are hardest due to being full and it sure feels like they need an elevator rules sheet or something lol

We are having fun but this week is quite different than last week for sure, I won't attempt to cruise on a holiday again that's all ;)

  8. It's fast and easy to register for adventure ocean day one aboard, there is a quick form asking about medications or issues/allergies and then info of who can pick the kids up turn that in you're set ;)

I've spoke. With the crew of adventure ocean a few times last week when it was slow they were talking about this week thanksgiving being mad with a thousand + kids onboard but they also mentioned we will see who registers meaning even they don't know till people get onboard and register as to who all will be IN adventure Ocean groups.

no worries registration is fast and easy and even into day two I saw parents coming in with kids to register which did slow the lines down a bit but I was trying to focus on being on vacation :).

This is the first cruise we have had lines picking up or dropping off those halls get very busy on holiday weeks last week in contrast I saw under a half dozen kids many days now average 50+ in every room even at the start of the day.

  9. Enjoying your review and really appreciate you posting the compasses. How great that you're able to do B2B.

Going back to your post about the pirate event. I've noticed some kind of pirate parade listed in the past on cruise compass as well for 6 - 8 year olds. Is this what you are referring to? If so, is this something that you need to be there with them? Or do they go with the Kids Club and you pick them up at the kids area afterwards?

Julia said they did some pirate stuff like songs coloring etc then did a walk of the boardwalk area for a mini parade we didn't go with and didn't see the parade but it was just part of that day's events.

One day they did a mini talent show and I'd say about 2/3 of the parents were there they would ask the kids their names and where they were from and whatnot but I'd say 1 out of 3 was doing their talent portion with no parent there it was a cute show too ;)

For the most part everything they do is pretty self sufficient with them as a group heading to eat or do mini walks or hunts for fuzz bot etc ;)
