We will be cruising RCCL March 2019 out of Miami and coming in one day early before our cruise. Checking airlines, I think it would be better to fly into Fort Lauderdale and then find transportation to the cruise terminal in Miami. Does anyone have any suggestions of hotels in Fort Lauderdale and what kind of transportation we could use for 5 people to get to the RCCL cruise terminal in Miami or would it be better to find a hotel in Miami and then get transportation to the cruise terminal. Thank you!

From what I have read, the trolley only runs till 5pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

How do we get to the water taxi from the airport?

We are a family of 6 adults (2 parents and 4 college students) cruising with Carnival in March. Our flight does not leave the Fort Lauderdale airport until 9:30 to come home. We are doing the Everglades excursion with Carnival to take up some of the time and they will keep our bags until the excursion is over, however, what to do after that. We have thought about using the baggage storage facility at the airport and finding something to do after our excursion. Any suggestions would be appreciated. It will be a Long Day at the airport if we can't find something to do that isn't too expensive. Thanks!

Thanks for all the good advice. Will discuss it with the rest of the family and make a decision. Thanks again!

Sailing with Carnival out of Fort Lauderdale 1st week of March. After disembarking, we are taking the Everglades tour offered by Carnival that will take us to the airport after sightseeing. Our plane does not leave until 9pm that night. Any suggestions of what to do for a family of 6 adults and what to do with luggage. Thank you!

Thanks so much for the info. I think we would rather go with a tour company than rent a car. I like stress free traveling and leaving the driving to someone else is much easier. Thanks again, I will check things out.

We will be cruising with Carnival Nov 1st, however, we will have 2 days precruise time in New Orleans and would like to see a plantation. Since this will be over Halloween and I think it will be busy, we would look to book the tour ahead. Does anyone have a name of a good tour company that we can contact. Any info is appreciated. Thank you!

We will be cruising with Carnival Nov 1st, however, we will be staying in New Orleans 2 days prior to the cruise. We would like to do some sightseeing and possibly see a plantation. I think it will be busy over Halloween and would like to book ahead. Any suggestions for a good tour company would be appreciated.

Thank you very much for your responses. I also called the hotel that we will be staying at precruise. They also stated that they would be happy to hold our luggage. Don't want to wish my life away, but anxious for November to get here.

Husband and wife sailing on Carnival Dream out of New Orleans in November. We have a late flight out of New Orleans to go back home and would like to some some of New Orleans before going to the airport. Is there somewhere we can keep our luggage while seeing the city. Any info would be much appreciated.

Wow...........thanks for all the information. I really appreciate it. I called our hotel and they said since we will be in New Orleans over Halloween, that we should book a tour before we get there. Halloween must be a busy time. Thanks for all the suggestions, I like to be prepared before I go. It makes for a more enjoyable time. Anything else is much appreciated.

We will be staying at the New Orleans Drury Inn for 2 days precruise and would like to take a plantation tour during that time. Do the hotels offer any tours or should we book that ahead of our stay. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

We also collect an ornament from each island we visit and put the year on the bottom of it. Each Christmas when we decorate the tree, they bring back such great memories.

Thanks for the info. From what I have looked up, Halloween is going to be very busy and the hotels are pretty expensive. I don't want to pay more for my 2-day pre cruise stay than I did for the cruise. Really looking forward to seeing New Orleans though.

What hotels would you suggest we stay. We want to experience the city activity but don't want to be in all the chaos or be afraid to get back to our hotel either. A middle of the road hotel would suit us.

Husband and wife sailing out of New Orleans Nov 1st on Carnival Dream. We would like a precruise hotel for Oct 30-31, which will be over Halloween. We have never been to New Orleans but would like to see the city. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks for the info. I will check out the New Orleans boards.

We will be cruising with Carnival leaving port in New Orleans in December. We would like to tour New Orleans either before or after our cruise. Any suggestions on where to stay and how to go about this would be appreciated.

We have three cabins and all have faster to the fun. We have 2 elderly ladies in their 80's going with us and we didn't want them to be waiting in line. We are leaving from Miami.

We will be cruising with Carnival in December and purchased Faster to the Fun. How early should we go to the port? Also, does Faster to the Fun help with debarkation? We have never done this before and any info would be appreciated.

We will probably need 3 rooms and do not want to spend too much for the hotel.
