Most of the time in the Caribbean the weather is absolutely beautiful. Frequently Cococay or other private islands are closed because of high winds and currents. Don't worry about the things you cannot fix.

You need to go to RCI's website and check the fair quite often to monitor the prices.

We really enjoy staying on the ship when in ports we have been in previously. It's a chance to enjoy areas with out the crowds or just enjoy the view.

If you book now then you could monitor HAL's website for price drops. Feb is a popular month for Caribbean cruises so price may be higher. You need to buy cancellation insurance when you book.

We have had an aft cabin on a transatlantic crossing and on a caribbean cruise. It was perfect for the TA crossing as we were protected from winds and rain. Didn't like it in the caribbean as it was just to hot. Not much air movement. It would be perfect for Alaska or Canada/New England sailings.
