  1. We have not sailed MSC but have booked a spring 19 transatlantic on Divinia and two northern Europe on Meragavilia. Prices were very good, we are looking forward to having another option. As retirees cost is an important consideration and our first choice Celebrity is running away from us.

  2. Insurance carriers could jump on this. You could pay a fee to have a replacement cruise IF what you wanted didn’t occur. Pick a number say $5000 coverage for a Baltic week. St Petersburg port missed once in 50 attempts. Insurance costs say $150. Many would consider it since for most its once in a lifetime? I agree safety has to be a priority but you pay to go to St Petersburg, Jerusalem, Rome etc. Why shouldn’t you be able to protect your dream if you chose?

  3. In our experience, on most cruises there is someone at the entrance to the buffet offering “deals” to specialty restaurants, in fact we were once “hijacked” from our elevator on the way to the MDR and taken to quisine.

The guy in a quisine uniform asked “what would it take”

I made a low offer, it was accepted and off we went...

You may get about the same pricing as the package DEPENDING ON AVAILABILITY!

Great plan to reserve valentines day :)

We had a four night package Q Sine poor pacing so slow. Murano too elite, no fun. Tuscan Grille great service with Jesse James and very nice room

But in truth the MDR was best for food and service !

  4. We tried it on the Valor this past New Years Eve. We wanted to like it and come back raving however that was not in the cards. I would not pay for it again. In fact DS, DH and myself agree we wouldn't bother if it were free. The service we had was far from outstanding and it was not crowded-there were only 2 other people on the side where we were.

When we arrived 7 minutes early the server asked us if we would like to wait in the bar area since we were "sooo early". It all went downhill from there.

I agree. Was in Scarlett's on the Valor Feb 2012 and was not impressed at all with the meal and service. We also had anytime dining and always sought out a particular waiter and had very good food and exceptional service. I also would not go back to Scarlett's for n/c

However on NCL food in the MDR is only tolerable although usually good service but the NCL Steakhouses were exceptional.

That said have already made reservation for the Steakhouse on the Dream 01/05
