  1. I recently cruised with a toddler.

The bed (pack & play) Carnival provided was great, no complaint there.

Kids menu was the same as any restaurant menu. Balcony room had adequate space for playing while in room. At 16mos, we bathe her in the sink with no problems (took pool but never used it).

The only problem we encountered was at the dining room table. She did not want to sit in the highchair but wanted someone to hold her. This got old after a couple dinners.

Some have asked bout sea sick, we had no problem we could identify but she did start having early morning crying spells on the last 2 days on a 7 day cruise.

The ship did not have whole milk. Plenty of fruits, cereal and baked good for snacks.

I would not cruise with her again until she can sit quietly though a dinner but cruising was a good choice if you are going to vacation.

  2. Hi - I have a 15 month old. Does any one have any advice about how to treat a baby for seasickness???

Hi, my granddaughter will be that age at sail time. Our pediatrician told me she would prescribe something for her.

  3. I agree with OP. I think this section is for family cruising and all others should stay on their forum. The replies show the unfortunate mind set of too many. Then we ask why society is deteriorating.

To the Op and any others concern, bring your lysol and prayers.

  4. Never thought I would need to know this, but are the high chairs the kind you push to the table or do they have trays on Carnival ships?

Thanks from an over planning grandmother who don't want to disturb others in MDR.

    Thanks

  6. Vacation is what you make of it. Yes there are unfortunate incidents which cause one person to have a totally different opinion and experience than possibly the person in the room next to them in the same cruise. I have been on 2 cruises (9 night on Caribbean Princess and 7 night on Oasis of the Seas) I had very different but equally amazing experiences on both.

Have I run into people that could have been more courteous? Of course! Have I had kids spill my $10 drink all over me? Yes I did lol. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and unfortunate things happen. But for me, life is too short to fret the small things and time away from work is too far and few between to spend it complaining about a bartender who got snippy(just an example). I am booked on the Carnival Valor on May, 18th, my first carnival cruise And I, for one, am not worried one bit that I will not have one hell of a vacation. Also, I plan on writing a review when I get back so stay tuned!

Happy Cruising everyone! If anyone is on the Valor with me in May, message me!

We are sailing the same day, but on different ship. This Carnival die-heart would buy you a drink. We sail Carnival because it allows us to take family vacations which is great! We hang together and make our own fun. I may try another line one day but as long as my family want to cruise, it will be Carnival.

  7. I'm sorry you had a bad experience on your vacation.

1st, go to the doctor. It's too late for stitches but antibiotics and a tenuous shot may be needed. My finger was cut by a slammed door. I did not go to the dr. at the time but later. I needed a tenuous shot (found out you need within last 5 yrs if you have an accident). I declined the shot so they wanted me to sign a waiver declining the shoot....I took the shoot. Go to the doctor!

My motto, when paying my money, complain until I get results. Talk to head of depts., managers or supv's til you get some results.

Lastly, I always go back to my room to use the potty...not a big drinker.

Hope all work out for you.

  8. Thanks for all the replies. I have most of the things but I was missing the thermometer.

My next question was going to be on motion sickness. I always have my crew to start Saturday night taking Dramamine. If you still feel OK by Tuesday they can stop taking it. I would rather take and not need than try take it after I start feeling bad.

    Thanks for all posts

  9. We did 7 on Magic with little to no wait. We had great wait person each night. Only one night we had a small wait but we went at prime time.

If you have a problem, just adjust your time by a couple of minutes when it's not high volume and you can give the dining room a call to let them know what time you will be there (but be on time). Tipping the maître may help :p.

We have 9 on the next cruise and we will be doing ATD.

  10. Thanks for all the nifty info. Keep the positive response coming. We are on Carnival with a balcony room. She will be 16mos and the cruise is next year.

Some items I will purchase at the end of the summer when things are on sale.....better quality at a cheaper price.

  11. On a cruise you have the opportunity to enjoy your family without the cooking & cleaning so you get quality time. We can walk around, blow bubbles, color, roll a ball, discover new things.....no real agenda....just whatever. I'm looking forward to introducing her to new things all my life.

Thanks for the soap idea. I know to bring extra silverware & sip cups (i'm sure we will lose 1 or 2). Umbrella stroller is better but I didn't think about the one with cover. Snacks, pull ups and drinks for a week. Blow up toys (less room), movies/dvd player, children medicine, water toys, backpack. I have order a crib for the room. Extra tip money for room steward:p.

I would not want to be next door to a crying child nor a smoker nor an arguing couple nor children gone wild nor just plain loud adults. Who you get for neighbors are just the roll of the dice.

    Thanks for all the suggestions

  12. My best advice would be to let the grandparents enjoy your child for a week. I love my kids dearly but would never have taken them on a cruise as toddlers.

I am the grandparent. I'm excited about taking her along with 8 other family members so we have enough people to take turns escorting her around the ship.

    please keep the suggestions coming!
