Though no dedicated CL/DL/SL on Majesty, we really enjoyed the cocktail event in the VCL.  Superior munchies too!  At first they asked to see your sea pass card, and "guard dogs" were at the entrance to the lounge.  Then later they did not.

What you will not see is a dedicated concierge person, and of course...my favorite perk is missing...the coffee machine.  😮

     Just got off the Majesty

the Viking crown happy hour was from 4-8pm . they checked our card the first night only to verify

Breakfast for diamond  etc. is 3rd floor dining room. Includes the cappucino coffee. Same thing checked our card the first morning only. times varied a little depending on port or sea day.

I don't like to drink alcohol and I have booked the Refreshment Package for our upcoming cruise, so I'm pretty much covered with any drinks I would want. As a Diamond Member, I get the 3 free drinks every evening during Diamon Happy Hour. Am I allowed to give those drinks away or is it the same as with the beverage packages and for personal consumption only?

I was thinking on getting 3 glasses of champagne for my friends for sailaway while I have some ginger ale or so 🙂

And to be clear, I don't talk about getting drinks from the lounge for my friends, strictly the 3 drinks which are loaded onto my ship pass every night.

The 3 free drinks don't need to be alcohol - I have gotten bottle water and soda in the past

  3. Its a choice, 2 isn't that terrible.

I just wish the MDR on formal nights would enforce the dress code. A simple "this is a formal night, informal attire is more than welcome at one of our other restaurants tonight" would be fantastic.

    In my humble opinion

I like the idea of the sign for formal night at MDR. Personally I like the excuse to dress nicely one or 2 nights. I do wish that other than boarding night they would at least not allow shorts (especially the bathing suit type board shorts) Just is tacky and wouldn't be allowed in any nice restaurant.

  4. I was on the Empress 4 days in July (coco cay and Key west) and 5 day in August ( key west and conzumel). The service is great, food is a different menu pretty good, plenty of activities and nice nooks and crannies to discover - nice for sitting, relaxing . The ship is small only MDR, WJ and Chops. When I went all the previous problems had been repaired. the Casino had a few fans near the entrance still.

Great chhoice for short cruise, don't expect all the bells and whistles from an oasis class.

I plan to cruise Empress again.

  5. my husband also brings his chemo drugs and steroids, and other Rx meds when we cruise.

You can download on the TSA site a form for meds, that you list, I have his oncologist sign it also and/or write a letter stating what drugs he takes. I bring that and the copies of the pharmacy prescription info sheet. Have never had a problem at airports or cruise ports (even with liquid meds in original bottle)
