Great review! Regarding the safety drill…did you do this right away upon boarding or had to wait until the official safety drill started?

Thanks for a non yacht club perspective! Can you tell me what the usb charging situation is in the cabins? Any by the bedside or at the vanity?

Thanks for taking the time to share! We are doing our first MSC cruise after sailing with all the other major lines and good to see a non YC review.

We were on this sailing also. 3rd sailing since the covid restart and was by far our best! The food in the MDR was actually served HOT every night. We also got out of the dining room in an hour 5/8 nights! I probably gained 5lbs from the amount of butter I slathered on the very hot bread I was served lol. Our cabin steward (Pan) was amazing! Closest I have come to twice a day service as he cleaned our cabin in the morning and was always out in the hallway when we went to dinner and asked if we needed anything. He happily swapped out our. dirty towels multiple nights.
We didn’t experience any of the problems the fb group complained about either with the teens. I guess we were lucky. We had a great time and compared to our 2 cruises last year (Mardi Gras and sunshine) this was a huge improvement!!

My husband sent in for passport renewal in early January and still no sign of it being sent back. We are two weeks out from cruise day so I fear he will be in that BC line while the kids and I zoom past him in the passport line and meet him at the car. We will take advantage of platinum early debark in hopes of getting ahead of the line!

What coffees are available in the atrium? I’m assuming not the full Java blue menu?
Thanks for another great trip! I’ve enjoyed following along since we are doing this same ship and itinerary soon!- 3

My Target only had $100 cards and the whole point was to use my red card to save 5%.

Plot twist…although online it says you can use 9 per transaction you can actually only use 5. Doh! Had to call and escalate to a supervisor for them to take the 9 after half an hour of disputing with them. So, learn from me…don’t buy more than 5 gift cards at a discount to try to save money on cheers (or any other purchase that can’t be broken up).
-
I bought gift cards ($100 each value) to pre purchase cheers, but now I’m reading you can only use 9 in a single transaction. I have 11 cards to cover the package. Has anyone been able to pre purchase using more than 9 gift cards?

We sailed MG in April. I don’t have food pics, but can tell you the nuggets and fries looked like McDonald’s. The PB&J was made like a grilled cheese (like put together and then toasted on each side) which was a big no for my picky eater. The dining room pizza was not good. Stick to pizza place for good pizza. No free donuts, but they have chocolate muffins which my son loves!

I have a very picky eater. I don’t have pictures, but I can tell you the nuggets and fries are like McDonald’s. My kid loves them. The Pb&j sandwich came toasted (like a panini press/grilled cheese sandwich would be) which as a big no for my son. And the dining room pizza is awful!! My kid eats an appetizer of fruit and main course of nuggets and fries most nights. Of course dessert is never an issue lol

I dread the sound (screaming and the coaster itself on the track) of this as I try to relax on deck.

This was my EXACT experience in Port Canaveral in February (on the Magic). Worst debarkation we’ve ever experienced. Hoping loyalty program doesn’t change before our next cruise as I’ll be turning platinum and looking forward to priority debarkation.

The sleeper is really just removing the back and putting sheets on the the part you sit on (doesn't fold out), so doesn't take up any more room than the sofa normally does. We had one on the sofa and the other on the Pullman right over top (they switched who slept on the top each night, because kids, Ha!)
-
We just had one of these on our magic cruise and didn't notice the missing space. We didn't realize we had booked this cabin (lol) and didn't really need the extra bath with 2 adults and a 4 & 6 year old. We said an extra toilet would have been more useful for us. It mostly came in handy to dry things so we didn't have to keep loading and unloading the drying line. It did have the sleeper sofa still.

We were on this sailing too. My 15th cruise and definitely the rockiest we've ever experienced. Sounds like you had a bad cabin steward. Ours introduced herself within the first hour, gave us the turndown "menu", greeted us daily in the hall, and kept our ice bucket filled. We were on the first floor (cabin 1296). Overall a great cruise!

Well said. Just got off the Glory and it was also our first American Table experience. While we really enjoyed the new menus (I know some don't), we hated the actual experience. We made all the same comments about the water carafe, silverware changes between courses, and lack of space on the table.

I have a car seat check bag similar to the one posted above. We got home yesterday and had no problems leaving it with the porters to be delivered to the ship.
-
Great! Thanks for the reply.
-
Will the porters at the port take my carseat (it's in a bag) to deliver to my cabin or will I have to haul it around until cabins open?
-
Yes, or carry to the gate and gate check it (usually gets less man handled that way lol)
-
I've been researching this for our cruise next week with our 2yo. Everything I read is no cab will take you in Miami without the car seat. We are bringing ours just for the Miami taxi. In ports we don't plan on using it and just keeping it stored in our cabin for the week.
-
We leave in 9 days and still haven't been assigned. The cruise has been sold out for a month, so I figured it would be assigned. This is the latest I've ever been assigned, but have heard from many about not finding out until you arrive at the port. It's all very random!

After night one, our waiter had a milk waiting for my 3yo every night when we sat down to dinner in the mdr. No issues at all getting it for free.

Yes, same JT. I got excited thinking they were doing it more like Carnival as that’s one of the biggest negatives I have read about MSC. At least my expectations are set for that hiccup.
