I went to Langkawi on a separate trip, not via cruise. Some of the videos I made going up Skycab.
Part 1- going up via SKycab.

Part 2 - going right up to the Top Peak station.

Part 3 - Rollercoaster on a hill? No, this was called the Inclinator.

Part 4 - Walking on the Langkawi Curved Bridge. Weather was good when I got there.

Beware that the place could get very crowded. Worthwhile to get those VIP tickets that allow you to jump to the front of the cable car queue. However, if you are on the ship's tour, then you should be very safe since the ship won't leave without you.
Have a great trip.
Thanks for sharing your amazing videos. I'm going to be in Langkawi for a day, how long should I allow for a trip to the sky bridge? Will probably pay for VIP tickets :D

My wife and I used a driver named Kitson Howe. We met him in port after the driver we had previously hired( a year in advance) for a private tour, didn't show up. Kitson took us to all the popular spots for less money. Very friendly man and he will customize your tour.
Hi
I'm interested in cost, highlights and duration of a trip with Kitson
Thanks

Thank you

Hello Everyone,
After going through this forum, I realized that many persons visiting St Lucia have many questions about the destination. My name is Dexter and I live in St Lucia about 15 minutes away from the Cruise Terminal. I love the internet and I’m generally online so I thought I may offer anyone my local opinion on questions about St Lucia. Please note that I don’t work in the tourism industry so I may sometimes have to research certain questions you may have.
Feel free to ask any questions and Id be happy to respond!
Devoulty,
Dex
Hi, our ship docks on Christmas Day. Do things close down at Christmas? Wonder if private tours will be available

What is the protocol on gratuities onboard celebrity cruises?

Sorry for shouting but the customer adviser I got through to was useless. Connie believe the level of service tonight.
Ah well, still got the booking made eventually so all is ok now
On the big countdown now

Does anyone know if the Bon voyage lunch is available on
San Pedro sailings?

We always take a town car and use ontime1.com. $55 for two plus tip in a very clean town car.:)
Thanks, love this site, you are all so helpful
-
It depends on what you want to pay.
A shared shuttle like SuperShuttle should be under $40+ tip.
A private shuttle from SuperShuttle (ExecuCar Express) is $55 + tip.
UberX is private and probably around $35 to San Pedro and no tip involved, but Uber is very new to LAX so I am not sure how smooth it is going.
Thanks for the info, will go have a look. Is it better to book or can you just pick up a transfer?
-
First time to LA. Can anyone recommend a transfer from LAX to crowne plaza San Pedro?
-
Don't forget Uber. Eapecially if you've never used it, as you can find promo codes worth $20 or so for your first ride. And each person in your party can sign up if they haven't already, meaning you could save $20 each ride.
To give you an idea, it cost me about $41 to ride from POM to the Ft Lauderdale area without a code.
Hi
We fly into Lax in April and would appreciate a promo code, how do I get one?

Sailing for the first time on princess later this year. Can anyone give me an idea of bar prices? I'm swithering whether to pay up front for the AI package or just run up a tab.
Thanks in advance

The Red Hook terminal is only a few years old. Its in a industrialized(although changing) area of Brooklyn. Its perfectly safe to walk around the area during the day. The subway stop is about 3/4 of a mile away from the terminal, actually not that much more than the subway is from the Manhattan cruise terminal. You do have to walk either over or under a major highway.

The water taxi is free on the weekends.
I use a local car service. Arecibo(7187836465) that will come pick you up at the pier and drop you off either at the subway or Manhattan for a reasonable fee(yes you in NY City its not inexpensive) the subway or bus at $2.50pp is inexpensive by any standard.

The closest subway stop technically is Smith and 9th Street on the F/G line but I would suggest using the Smith/Carroll Street stop its a better walk through a Brownstone neighbor....
I live in the area so ask away.
We sail from red hook in October , can you suggest a hotel for one night before our cruise or suggest hotels NOT to stay in. We arrive in JFK at 6.30 pm the night before our cruise. TIA

I had enquirer before my cruise but because the boards were slow couldn't get anyone to share with us. The day before we docked in Athens we met a couple on board who were interested in joining us on a private tour of Athens.. I emailed PK Travel and within minutes our trip was booked for the. Following day!
Our driver, Dimitius, was waiting at he port gates for us and whisked us off to the Acropolis before the sun got too high. He was an absolute gem, full of information and very personable. His English was impeccable too.
He was so attentive to our needs and wishes and tailored the trip to suit as we went along.
We had a fabulous day in Athens and are grateful to PK Travel for an exceptional service. I have no he's titration in recommending both PK Travel and Dimitrius in particular

Our tour group led by Ross trouped into the Prime C restaurant. It had exactly the look you'd expect of a restaurant serving prime cuts of beef. Pitch perfect space. Rob and I didn't dine there on this cruise as we're saving it for our next, on the Journey with friends Librarylady19 (Sandi) and her husband. Can't wait, I tell you! The restaurant looked so inviting.
Loving this review. I need library lady to contact me re Hong Kong to singapore on 21january . My email is aramcfarlane@hotmail.com. Would you be kind enought to pass this message on?
Thanks
