  1. Hello, has anyone been having  problems with the Princess website.   I can only go as far as to select a cabin, then there's a message that tells me that there's a problem and it can't go any further.  This has been going on the past few days.  I tried different browsers and clearing my browser and cookie history but that doesn't help.  These problems are when I use my desktop, it's okay when I use my phone????  Thanks for any help.

I've used the tram at Zeebrugge several times.  First time, went west to Blankenberge, a quaint town protected by a huge dike with hotels, restaurants, and a casino atop it.  The beach there is beautiful white sand and a nice walk out to the water's edge.  The town also has something like a miniature golf course.  The other time I went east to the end of the line at Knokke.  The latter is much larger and more sophisticated than Blankenberge--lots of high-end shopping if one's interested in that.  Lovely neighborhoods to wander through (as I did).  Note: we'd been to Bruges and Ghent on a river cruise back in 2007 so didn't feel the need to go again.  Enjoyed them both very much.

How far is the walk from the Zeebrugge terminal to the tram station?  We're limited on how far we can walk but we would like to go to Blankenberge as my husband was there years ago and would like to go back.  Thank You

The price hasn't dropped sufficiently to cover the free gratuities from 3 for Free.  It's a different promotion right now.  I probably need to wait to see if it drops below the amount the free gratuities would cover.

I would give Princess a call and see what they can do for you.   I was under the same promotion a couple of months ago, then saw a price drop and new promotion so I called Princess.  I not only got the price drop, but also received more onboard credit.  Good luck.

  4. I did this once in the last couple years. Same situation as you, booked with a TA, but managed the EZ-Air flights myself through the cruise personalizer. (BTW, Princess immediately notifies your TA on EZ-Air bookings)

To answer your question, YES, you contact your TA. IIRC there is a form required that can be done electronically to make the formal request.

BE AWARE, I was required to PAY THE CRUISE IN FULL in order to accomplish what I wanted to do (Be ticketed early so I could purchase upgrade seat)

In my case it all worked out just fine and was not difficult at all.

We contacted Princess and paid for only our airfare a few months before final payment so we could be ticketed and go to the airline and buy comfort seats. No need to pay for your whole cruise.

  5. Four of us are sailing on the Ruby to Alaska on 9/1. When we made our reservations, we chose traditional dining, 8:15 seating. My friend has celiac disease so I felt this was the best way to get her dietary needs met. Just this week I've been diagnosed with GERD, (yay aging!) and my husband reminded me I'm not supposed to eat that late. There's a long waiting list for the earlier TD. I've read, but searched and can not find any info, that you can get a standing reservation with ATD, and have the same table and serving crew.

Is this true? Has anyone done this?

I've used ATD on my last cruises but always sat at different stations and I'd rather not have that this time.

    Thanks for any help!

On a recent cruise to Alaska, we had ATD and our waiter told us that if we wanted to dine at his table every night, all we had to do was call the dining reservations line and let them know what his table number was and what time we wanted to dine each night.

  6. Pros: We like the anticipation of waiting for our cabin location. Our best cabin ever was a guarantee on a South America cruise, we booked a guarantee balcony and ended up with an aft balcony, the balcony was bigger than our cabin, lol. We book guarantees about 50% of the time and have never been disappointed.

Cons: As stated in the previous posts, you never know where you'll be.

  7. Does anyone know where we will be able to get specialty coffee onboard? I notice they removed the International Cafe. Thanks!

The Pacific has specialty coffees as you first enter the Horizon Court.

  8. We had our flight ticketed early because we wanted to be able to get comfort seats and we couldn't get them on United unless we were ticketed. We just called EZAIr and paid for our flight only at the time, they called United and we were able to upgrade to comfort seats in a matter of minutes. There were only a few comfort seats left but because we paid early we were able to purchase some.

  9. You should be fine to use the EU queue together as you're married.

But the immigration officer was entirely correct to ask the question of your husband. There's no reason why he can't use his British passport if he's with you in the non-EU queue, and there are many good reasons why he should. I've done this on many occasions over the years, accompanying other people who have to use the non-EU queue.

Thanks for your reply, I think we'll try the EU queue, the worst that could happen is they make me go in the non-EU queue. If they do my DH can go ahead and get our luggage while he waits for me.

  10. Unless we’re looking at totally different pages, that link doesn’t address which queue to stand in, it’s just really general info about applying for a passport or a visa. The OP comes into and goes out of the UK with all paperwork in order, as I read it, and is just wondering which queue for a couple consisting of one UK citizen and one US citizen.

That's correct, I looked at the link and it doesn't specify which queue we should get in. In the past we've always gone in the non EU queue but my DH was questioned about why he didn't use his British passport. They didn't tell us if we could have gone in the EU queue line or not.

  11. My husband has dual citizenship, British and American and I have American citizenship. Was hoping someone else with the same circumstance has been through Border Control when you arrive at Heathrow, We've always went to the non EU line but the last time my husband was asked why he didn't use his British passport. We would love to try going through the EU line with him using his British passport but didn't know if they would also let me go through the line since I'm an American citizen. The EU line is always so much shorter than the non EU line. Thanks for any help.

  12. The thing we missed at the Coral's International Cafe is that nothing could be heated. So...no "egg mcmuffin" type sandwiches and no heated paninis.....

    :(

We were on the Coral in April for the Panama Canal cruise and we had our sandwiches heated in the panini press.

  13. This ship is not for everyone. Less activities, no theater for "production" shows, etc.

I agree, we were on a TA for 18 days and it wasn't for us. We've been on about 30 cruises and this is the only one that I got very seasick, there's a lot more motion on a small ship. We also missed a port because it was very windy one day and this small of a ship couldn't handle the wind so it couldn't get refueled. It is very intimate which was okay for a short cruise, but not a long one. The staff are great, but the lack of enough things to do was a problem for us. Most of the passengers were quite a bit older, lots of walkers and wheelchairs because the ship is small and easy to get around. I don't like to be critical, but you had asked for opinions so I was sharing our experience. Hope you enjoy your cruise.

  14. From what I can find, there is no real advantage to booking future cruises while on board? The future cruise credits that you purchase are your winners without any real added incentives for actually booking? Is this accurate? Thank you

We usually just fill out the form for FFC when we're on a cruise. But in April on our Panama Canal cruise, we stopped in the future cruise line office to ask a question about a future cruise we had already booked and we were so glad we did. He not only got us a better cabin, but we got extra OBC and saved another 400.00 on our total cruise price. It seems that sometimes the future booking officers do have access to specials that are only for when you book on board.

  15. No shuttles and yes you can walk outside. There is a metro station walking distance near the big white Erasmusbridge for public transportation.

    Take metro to Centraal Station.

Are there ATM's at the cruise terminal? And do you know how far to get a water taxi, we would like to take one to Delfshaven. Thanks

  16. I think I know the answer, but just want confirmation. We booked out reservations with Traditional Early dining so that our kids can be taken to the Adventure Ocean mid way through dinner. However, we have an excursion in Nassau (dock) from 1-5pm and aren't sure how easily we will be able to get back on ship and cleaned up before formal night at 6pm.

Even though we are booked under Traditional Early, is there an option to try for My Time Dining for the one night?

Just tell your waiter the night before your excursion what the problem is and he'll tell you your options.

  17. On previous cruises we have always booked excursions while onboard.

We are going on a Mexican Cruise next year with our Son and his family. We booked separately. We are looking to book some excursions together online.

How do we make sure we get in the same group? Also do you pay at time of booking or is it added to your onboard bill? Thanks

When you go to the meeting place for your excursion, just make sure your family goes together and they'll put you in the same group. Yes, you do have to pay for them in advance now, but if you have any onboard credit they'll take the price out of the credit.

  18. I wouldn't worry too much about it. I received the same email for a cruise to Hawaii a couple of years ago, but didn't have a problem on the ship. They do extra cleaning and they didn't let us serve ourselves in the buffet for a few days, but all was well. Just keep washing your hands and drink plenty of water. Enjoy your cruise.

  19. This is very confusing, the website http://www.hamburgcruisecenter.eu/en/estimated-ships

shows the Royal at Altona, also everyone on our roll call says we'll be at Altona. I think I'll contact Princess and see what they say. Thanks again for the information.

I just spoke to Princess and they said the port of Hamburg doesn't make a decision until at least 30 days before we arrive. When they make the decision, we will be listed at the correct terminal. Princess told me if we're still listed at both terminals at the 30 day point to call them back and they'll find out for us. Thanks again for your help, you've given us good suggestions no matter which terminal we're at and we're really looking forward to our first time in Germany.
