  1. We have just been on Silhouette and they had an hour of ballroom dancing to recorded music in the Sky lounge at 8.00 pm every night.  This was poorly attended, only two or three couples, and probably the reason why was because the recorded music was dire and totally unsuitable for ballroom dancing.  They did have latin sessions some nights on Level 3 which was where most of the action was before 10.00 pm.  Plenty of dancing in the Sky Lounge at 10.00 pm.  Do not miss Queen night it was amazing.  Hope this helps.

  2. Mens Day! Really!  There has to be a joke there somewhere.  Sorry to hear Warmunde/Rostock was such a let down.  We are fortunate that on our 16 June sailing we are in Stockholm for two days.  Try not to let this last port spoil your memories of a good holiday.

Thanks again for a great review and the information.

    Hi all -

ABBA, THE MUSEUM - 4 FREE tickets available!!

I was supposed to be sailing on this cruise but had to cancel due to a travel companion needing emergency surgery. (she is doing fine now, but can't travel)

I have 4 tickets to the Abba Museum that i am happy to pass along to anyone who is interested. I have spoken to the museum and they said i can transfer the tickets to anyone, but i can not get a refund.  I would love to see them used by someone and not go to waste!

Just reach out to me and let me know if you want them!

Hi Holly what a shame you couldn't take the cruise, I do hope your friend recovers quickly.  What a kind offer to pass your Abba Museum tickets on and I would really appreciate two of them if they are still available.  We are on 16 June sailing will they still be valid.  My email is thedoghouse178@aol.com.  Many thanks in advance.

  4. We have booked a private one day tour for two people with Dancing Bear Tours on our upcoming visit to St Petersburg next month.  We gave them a list of places we wanted to visit during the day including lunch and they gave us a price.  We had to pre-pay 50% up front on our credit card and pay the rest in cash on the day. Dancing Bear Tours have good reviews on Trip Advisor and were the only company I could find who would do a private one day tour.  The reason we opted for one day rather than two is that I couldn't stand the thought of being rushed through palaces and museums with hundreds of other people and not see very much.  We would rather just see what we wanted at our own pace.  We will enjoy the peace of the ship on Day 2.

Everyone is different so enjoy your trip your way.

Ah, that makes sense. I actually did a bit of searching and, as is usually the case, found conflicting information. The prices vary depending on whether the cruise originates in North America or somewhere else. It would be helpful to know from where your cruise departs.

Four weeks and five days to go from Southampton.  Really hoping someone on Silhouette now can let me know so I can give some thought as to whether to upgrade our classic package.  Thanks

You're ON Silhouette NOW? Pretty sure the most reliable answer to this will be found on the ship itself?

Actually I am NOT on Silhouette NOW.  Unfortunately I didn't realise the start of my post hadn't been put in a quote.  It is actually Biotcruisers who is on the ship at the moment.  Thanks for pointing out my error though most appreciated.

  7. Currently on Silhouette and the drinks package flyer states the following prices per day:-

    Standard - $59

    Classic - $71

    Premium - $83

Can you confirm please if the price limit on the Classic package is $9 per drink as I have read several different views on this.

    Thanks for any help.

I booked our cruise through a TA. Checked in online with Celebrity and subsequently received the Moveup email invitation. I had already input my credit card on check in but was surprised to be asked again on registering for Moveup, when I had already entered it for Celebrity, as required, on check in. This has nothing to do with booking through a TA as Celebrity require a card at the online check in. Why ask for the card details again? And then hold on to the details in a department which seems to be running a bidding process for an upgrade that may never happen? They must get a lot of card details which don't get used and could be used for fraud at any point. Strangely I have had fraud on my card shortly after registering with them and have had to cancel the card. Coincidence?

When I checked in on line I'm pretty sure I only had to put the last four digits of the credit card in.  Also when bidding for an upgrade the security code was encrypted.

  9. OP: For the future, if you think you will take a Celebrity cruise at sometime, then it is a good idea to book whilst on board - any cruise! You can then move it, penalty-free, at a later date to one you want and still keep OBC obtained for booking on board. This advantage only exists for those who did not book in north America if you book on board. Otherwise you lose your deposit should you need to change.

Bernipops, the one category upgrade applies if you have sailed with Celebrity before and joined the Captain's Club. Note that a category means 2B to 2C, 1B to 1A etc (with a few exceptions), and not inside to outside. You must request this at the time of booking and have your CC number handy if booking with a TA. If booking on board, my experience is that they do this automatically.

Thanks for the info about booking on board. We are Captain's Club members but didn't realise you have to ask for the upgrade with the TA. I gave them the CC numbers when I booked but didn't get an upgrade. Doh! Lesson learned.

  10. Silhouette is a beautiful ship, we sailed on her in the summer. As you have been on the Constellation you should already be Captains Club members. This means that you will get a one category upgrade, for instance we paid for 2D cabin, but sailed in 2C.

Unfortunately, I can’t comment on Explorer, as we don’t sail on her until August 2019.

How do you go about getting the one category cabin upgrade please? :o

  11. Prices overall have gone up a lot since, let's say, 5 years ago. Prices will also stay up as long as there are people willing to pay the asked amount for it. Edge is a complete no-no it seems for the incoming few years, ridiculous prices imo. I also have a couple of cruise certificates that need to be used before 2019 with NCL, but I can't seem to find any suitable cruise with a price I'm willing to pay. :)

We have the problem with NCL cruise certificates too. Their prices sky rocketed soon after we bought them as they went all inclusive and unless you buy a balcony cabin you can only use one certificate per cruise!

  12. We are following your post with interest as well as we are booked on Magnifica later in the year but are on the verge of cancelling due to the bad reviews since she has started cruising from the UK.

We hope you have a fabulous time and look forward to reading about your experiences.

  13. Bernipops. I'm in the UK and booked through a TA. I did call NCL direct first for a price, and they confirmed for the Epic I could use two CruiseNext credits on cruises before end of October on ANY cabin. However when I went to book through my TA (as they were giving me a 5% discount) they were told NCL said only one could be used. But she rang again and this time I could use two. So think it depends who you get on the other end of the line!!!

I must admit when I bought them last year I was aware you could usually only use one per cruise (unless they have certain promotions). I just called on the off-chance last week as was pleasantly surprised to be allowed to use both.

Thanks for the information. I think you are quite right that it depends who you get on the phone but I have tried a couple of times with no success as has my TA.

As an update with regarding to selling the certificates, I reworded an email to NCL asking if I could GIVE them to another person and was told yes I could providing they were also Latitude members. Not sure at this stage if I can be bothered with the hassle of selling and "gifting" them as I'm a bit wary of eBay these days. If I come across someone who is doing an NCL cruise at some time then I will think again.

Hope you have a great cruise Epic is lovely.

  14. I was allowed to use 2 for a studio cabin this October so very happy (and amazed :p). I was starting to panic NCL were getting too expensive so glad to be able to use both my credits .

Did you book through an agent or NCL direct? They are adamant I can't use both unless I book a balcony. Likewise they are adamant I can't transfer them either.

Can't see any way of transferring them on NCL site either on My NCL as advised in another post. Maybe the T&C are different in the USA to the UK.

    Thanks

  15. Just as an update I emailed NCL about transferring the credits and this is the reply I received which contradicts the information previously given that the credits can be sold on eBay etc etc:-

"Thank you for your email and enquiry
