How does one go about using a Fitbit on board ship. Will it record your steps, etc?

If I reach elite status during middle of a cruise will I get updated to elite during this cruise?

I understand that the Ruby now has a new lift in center area of ship that goes all the way through now. I am wondering if they also put new stairs in that area. Anyone who has been on there know? Our cabin is on deck 8 & this has been a problem in past.

I do not see the canned soda, i believe 6 cans, that you can order for your cabin. Does anyone know if Princess still has this option?

Does your fit bit keep track of miles when walking at sea. When will it update. Can I sink it on computer when on WI FI on ship?

I just wanted to post informing everyone how impressed I was with James Tours. I emailed James earlier today and told him I wanted to do an excursion with him next March, and he actually called me tonight to confirm my reservation. I was really impressed, and liked the personal contact. I have been reading all the posts about St Lucia and am really looking forward to seeing the island.

I, too, was wondering if we will be able to have unlimited free coffee on the old cards. I have one from last cruise that doesn't have a single punch on it. Bought two, and only used one up. Hope they honor it. Going in February on the Emerald.

I know the Grand Princess does not have an International Cafe, but does it have an area in one of the bars that would serve fresh coffee and pastries, etc?

Is there a place that anyone knows where you can purchase wine where the Tahitian Princess docks in Papeete? Can you buy it at the big shopping area, the Marche? Is it any cheaper buying it there, or should we just buy a couple bottles on ship? I keep reading how expensive everything is so I am thinking maybe it is not a deal to buy it before boarding.

I agree, wholeheartedly, that there is nothing like a good local TA. We lost our TA through her retirement, and then we moved out of the area. We had a local agent book a trip for us, and she was not very personable so we tried online the next trip. Our first TA was great, but we never got any perks so were were surprised to get gifts after booking online. When we planned our upcoming trip we wanted to get a local TA again, and tried a new company. I first went online to see what the online agent could do for us, and then I went to the local TA. She matched the price, and that is how we ended up going with her. It is nice to have someone local, but I was just curious as to what everyone else was experiencing with their agents.

What is the best gift you have gotten from your travel agent for booking with them? We booked our last February cruise online with an independent agent, which I won't mention, and we got a $200 onboard credit, nice bottle of champagne in our room, and a $20 gift certificate for photos onboard. We were very impressed. We knew about the onboard credit, but were nicely surprised with the champagne and gift certificate. We are cruising next March and have booked through a regular travel agent this time, and she is saying that they usually do not give any kind of gift for booking with them. She said she would work on it. I was thinking that it was really nice to get a few freebies. What have you gotten that is worth writing about???
