I believe that Hallux is correct in that if there are no cabins to sell, there is no current price.

At least in the past when I wanted to upgrade, I was told that there had to be cabins available both for the category I was in as well as the category I wanted, otherwise no price.

Thanks, julig22 - I still see this as different and not really answering, though. It’s clear that NCL must have a cabin in inventory in order to sell you that cabin. What is not clear (to me, at least) is if there is a way to search for the price of each cabin category at any moment. That might require a travel agent level access, which I do not have. Oh well. As Hallux mentioned, I am ok with the price I paid or I would not have booked - but always ok with saving money when that’s offered to me, too!

There can't be a current price to sell a cabin if there are no cabins to sell.  If you're not happy with your cabin price I'm sure NCL would be able to find someone else willing to stay in that cabin for that price if you decide to cancel it.

Thanks for the super helpful reply and forecast about NCL’s probability of reselling the cabin. Suggestion, though - if you don’t know the answer to a post maybe just skip the urge to reply next time.

I was curious if cruises were similar to airfares, where they are all published even if the inventory level for sale is equal to zero. These can be queried through fare tables.

    Main Dining Wine List

Hello, does anyone have experience with ordering the "Coravin Experience" wines by the glass with the upgraded premium plus beverage package? My gut tells me that these are on the excluded, extra cost list, but since they're served by the glass, I am holding out a sliver of hope.

I read through the NCL T&Cs, but they seem silent on this particular offering - only noting exclusions for wine flights, etc.

  4. FYI

I was in three separate Staples this weekend, since I had access via a road trip. There is only one Staples in my town, and it's on the other side so rather a PITA to drive to. Comically, their policies were all over the map!

    - One was a free-for-all (i.e. good!)

    - The next limited gift card purchases to $500 / day total, didn't matter that I wanted a variety of merchants

    - The last one was cash or debit card only for ALL gift card purchases!

Of course, each one claimed that this was "Staples corporate policy" - which makes me mad because I don't like being lied to.

So, moral of the story your mileage may vary, even at the same store chain.

  5. My experience is that it is not available on TA or international cruises because when you enter the US' date=' you must reclaim your luggage and take it thru Customs. Sorry. We've done several TAs and several cruises departing (or arriving) in Barcelona. It is sort of the same deal as on an international flight where they can't check your luggage from Barcelona to your home airport--you have to claim it at the international terminal, go thru Customs, and drop it off to be sent to your home airport. Yes, I am aware that you are technically re-entering the US on arrival from Caribbean cruises, but these closed loop cruises are handled differently.[/quote']

Ah, yes, that certainly makes sense. My euphoria about potentially not having to worry about lugging around baggage must have masked my memories of all the inbound international flights & associated 'fun.' Great analogy about airline baggage experience. Thanks

  6. ...The transfers with luggage is AWESOME. I will make sure to do that.

I agree with @westcruzer - this is a fantastic feature that I had not seen on the DCL website yet. Our first DCL cruise is going to be this fall on the TATL from Barcelona to New York. Does anyone know if this option for baggage delivery to JFK (or EWR) is available there, too, assuming of course that I buy the Disney ground transfer?

I haven't booked flights home yet, so I have complete flexibility on departure airports & times.

  7. All good suggestions, thank you. She uses the elliptical machine to work out her lower back (had spine surgery w/ some nerve damage), and then goes into the more typical free weights & stretching to round out the workout. We still have about 200 days to come to a decision, but now we are armed with the info. Appreciate the answers.

  8. I'm curious about the inverse of this question, and a search is coming up empty. Is the fitness center open on the last day, say during breakfast, before everyone gets kicked off the ship?

My wife needs to do some PT, especially before long flights, so I'm trying to see if I need to book flights for the day after the cruise ends.

    Thanks,

  9. The Magic's lounge location seems a bit inconvenient, especially to some of the aft most suites. It's location on the Dream class ships makes it so appealing. We really would have to consider if the extra cost was worth it on the Wonder.

Yes, I did notice it's going to be a little bit of a hike from our after 1 BR room to the lounge each morning to grab a pair of coffees.

Still looking forward to the trip, though!

  10. Hi everyone,

I did a quick search, but the answers weren't all that apparent. Does this older thread still hold up after the Magic's update in dry dock, adding a concierge lounge? I'm curious if the one-bedroom suites were changed/updated at all, because I just booked one for the fall '16 TATL and the family is super excited about the trip. Now we just have to get through the next 200 odd days... :)

  11. I don't drink much soda and asked for a few more bottles of water in our room on the Magic. The concierge said he would have to charge us. The look on my face must have been interesting, because 3 seconds later, he said he would have water delivered free of charge. For goodness sake, there's no lounge, I wasn't drinking the sodas, so give us a little darn water :p

    Hi all,

This is the 1st time we're exploring the idea of a Disney cruise. We've done NCL to Alaska most recently, in a concierge suite about 4 years ago, but that's our most recent cruise (not avid cruisers, I know!).

Now that our son is 4, and a huge Disneyland fan, we're tossing around the idea of doing a trip on the Wonder out of Galveston over Christmas.

Having been pampered on our last cruise, I'm mentally struggling to book a verandah room instead of their 1 bedroom concierge room, even though it's literally half the price (~$9k vs. ~$19k). Reading through these threads makes the decision even more difficult.

Even though it is the Disney cash machine I'm asking about, are they really going to look me in the eye and say there's a charge to keep my refrigerator stocked with water (we don't drink soda)?? I can't imagine that happening, but it seems to be their standard procedure.

I guess I can buy a lot of water for $10k, but I'm thinking that demand for the 'good stuff' on a Christmas cruise would be even higher than other times of the year, which would make having the concierge staff worth a decent amount of money. Ten grand, though...

You can see my dilemma! Suggestions, please.
