When my daughter, son and I (with a cane) came in the door at Red Hook last October, a man immediately came over to us with a wheelchair and offered help.

We accepted and he "loaded" me up and the 4 of us went to use the elevator to the upstairs area.

My daughter and I are Diamond, which may have helped but we were through the check-in line in record time and he took us all the way to our cabin.

He had a wonderful personality and he was tipped generously for his help.

My cane had disappeared in the confusion but another staff member returned it to me a day later after I reported the missing cane to the purser's desk.

Be careful using a backpack.

I had someone try to unzip mine many years ago in Taxco, Mexico while walking down the street.

Probably referring to the sliding glass doors on the balcony, which is accessible to people in consecutive balconies if the dividers are opened up.

We do small dry erase boards. We pick them up at the dollar store and just leave them at the end of the cruise. We usually have two or more cabins in a row and will put the boards on the sliders that way only family will know where we are.

Is there anyone onboard "as we speak" who can tell us definitively if Captain Wells will be our captain for the October 11 crossing?

And who is the assistant cruise director? Perhaps Ed Moffat? And, if so, will he be onboard for the October 11 crossing?

Anytime we have sailed with Chris Wells has been a delight. He is Captain Personality! Lovely fellow!

 

I'm sure Oprey is technically competent, but I would never characterize him as "delightful." Chris Wells is definitely our favorite!

My opinion is based on my 10 or so voyages on QM2. On the maiden TA in April 04, TE was new and exciting and good.

 

Each succeeding visit,.we found the same exact and beginning to get stale and dated menu and choices

 

On our last TA,.the 10th anniversary in 2014, lunch at TE was a disaster. Half the items on the printed menu were unavailable, the ones that were were badly prepared and the service awful.

OK, please refresh an old lady's memory and tell me which voyage we were both on.

I have slept since then (whenever that was)! LOL!

We have reservations on the QM2 in October, 2015. TA to Soton and Hamburg and then back to NYC. First time for my son on the QM2 and first time in Hamburg for all 3 of us.

We "jumped ship" last September and went on the HAL Westerdam to Alaska. First time for all 3 also: HAL and Alaska.

Why are all the comments about Todd English so derogatory?

Is the ambiance (bathing suit clad passengers walking through)?

My daughter and I actually prefer the wonderful food to the food in the 2 Verandah restaurants on the QE and QV.

My daughter and I had a similar situation. We were assigned to 7072 and neither needed nor requested a handicap stateroom.

hi found the doco that we were talking about, its on utube now for anyone interested in getting a cunard fix , there are five one hour episodes and cover the 117 world cruise of the qe in 2012.

 

Simon alix gets below decks of the qe, into the engine room, chefs galleries and bridge, attends the world cruse parties and interviews various passengers crew and locals of the ports that the ship visits.

I was fortunate enough to be able to experience sailing out of New York in 2012 on Azamara Journey. Two weeks ago I was able to do it again, this time on Queen Victoria. Like last time the weather was perfect and because we left at 6pm, the sun was stunning. I could do this again and again.

It is included as that is the only drink I order BUT sometimes there is a delay in getting the waiter to bring it, as it seems to be a "special order"?

My daughter has VERY SHORT hair and prefers to bring her own dryer.

Cunard-furnished dryers have pretty short cords coming out of the drawer.
