  1. We stayed in 1606 on Equinox several years ago on a Med cruise out of Rome. The balcony is huge because it's on the hump and the midship location was great. There were 2 nights, however, when there were late night parties on the pool deck and we could hear the music and thumping until around midnight. I don't remember any daytime noise of consequence. But, definitely something to consider if you like to go to bed early! And who knows if they still have those parties anyway.

  2. Ship happens! I was on board with you, but made the best of it. Service was great. Blue food was fab. I still love the thallasotherapy pool which is not on the Solstice Class ships. Cruises to nowhere can be great. Getting a peek at the dry dock was an added bonus.

Hello fellow passenger! I agree the thallasotherapy pool was amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed that, along with the outdoor hot tubs. 3 days was definitely not long enough!

  3. Should be the Adventure of the Seas. Don't really know what all they had planned, but they are curtailing some of the work because of the damage to the yard from Hurricane Matthew. She is returning to service Nov. 14 but things like the water slides and surf simulator won't be up and running as well as some of the alternate dining venues.

Thanks for the info! Off to google more about Adventure. I wonder if she was there during the Hurricane? Although, I can't imagine that... I would hope not, at least.

  4. We are just off of the Infinity 3 day Bahamas sailing. The weather was extremely windy and we couldn't visit Nassau or Cococay. So sad! Instead, they rerouted us to Freeport, which was quite devastated from Hurricane Matthew last month.

Anyway, while we were in Freeport, we saw an RCCL ship docked for work. I'm wondering which ship it is and what it's having done. A google search didn't give me any answers. Anyone know?

Meanwhile, while our port disappointment was sad, the experience on the ship was top notch. I had one of the best meals of my life at Tuscan and an amazingly fun experience in Qsine. They had a magician on board, who was fantastic, as well - Jason Bishop. The ship looked great and only showed her age a bit in our bathroom, which could use new hardware in the sink and new tiling on the floor. They were replacing the carpets in the stairways while we were on board too.

  5. You have chosen a fantastic room! It was our room on our honeymoon Equinox cruise back in 2011. I did a goofy little YouTube video tour of the room, at the time. It's still on there if you want a tour before your trip! There was wine in our room upon arrival, but this was years ago.

  6. If you're referring to the balcony dividers on S class ships, they can't be removed, but the cabin attendant can open them providing the people on both sides agree and the seas aren't rough. The dividers are glass and they've apparently had a few problems in very rough seas. They swing open and are attached to the fixed balcony divider. A nice feature if you're traveling with friends.

The other interesting feature of balcony doors we learned on the Eclipse is that you can no longer accidentally lock yourself out on the balcony. The doors will open from the outside even if they're in the locked position.

Maybe this is silly, but one if someone (who was up to no good) swung or climbed onto your balcony from next door or a few doors down. They could get into your room even if it's locked?!?
