  1. Agree; I have never understood why some feel the need to try and give tangible gifts to strangers on cruise ships. Why take the time and effort in purchasing them a gift they may or may not like, when if you just give them that money (that you were going use on a gift) as extra cash there is a 100% chance they will be happy (and can use it for ANYTHING they want/need). The best things passengers can do for the hard working crew is extra CASH gratuities, praising them by name on comment cards when merited and treating them with kindness and respect. The only exception I have made is occasionally on lengthy cruises when I have bonded a bit with a particular crew member I have asked them if I can pick up anything for them while I am on shore . That way it is ensured it is something they desire.

We give them cash in an envelope with a thank you note.

  2. We have not done the Halloween cruise but did China and Asia with Aquafest.

To this day it was one of our best experiences on any cruise/trip.

Tom Baker the owner of Aquafest is the best host of any cruise out there.

Our best and closest friends are some of the co-host on the Halloween cruises, they go over the top with the costumes!

You will not regret one moment of the experience.

Been on many Atlantis and RSVP cruises, not the same as Aquafest. Much more intimate.

  3. I'm not sure if this is for everyone and I apologize if yours does not qualify; however, there are some 20%discounts available for some cruises right now on the alcohol beverage packages. There are at least two of us that I've heard of so far on totally different cruises where they've shown up when you go to "checkout" on Celebrities website with a bev package purchase. Check it out, if you've been looking as I have. I was very pleased to see it after watching for months. I did just pay in full yesterday; however, I've heard that may not have mattered.

    Thanks for the heads up!!!

We just purchased the premium beverage package and saved $1200!!!

  4. I can make it work, but it takes 5 steps on the new site, where it used to take 2 or 3. Why is that an improvement? Also, when I'm shopping for a cruise, some are really difficult to find. If there is a cruise that sails on multiple dates, there's a small change date below the listed cruise. It's difficult to get the info. Once you find the cruise you want to look at, only the lowest category shows up before you click book now. If you want to go back because you want to see another cruise, you have to start your search again. Previously you just hit a drop down box to see the rates of all categories. The new site also does not show a date when on line check in begins. The old site had no mechanism to show that Aqua class dining was Blu and showed traditional dining. The new site is exactly the same.the only thing better on the new site in my opinion is the appearance. The pictures are beautiful, but the operation is slow and cumbersome. I've had no difference when using a laptop, or desktop with 2 different operating systems and 3 different browsers. Also tried phone and tablet. When I shop for a cruise, I want to see everything easily and easily go from one to another. I don't want to spend hours! A website is supposed to drive business for a company, nor drive away business!

    It is driving me away!!

  5. My partner and I sailed with Aquafest on a Panama Canal Cruise three years ago. It was a wonderful group. We had previously been sailing with Pied Piper Travel on their gay group cruises and Aquafest was much better.

We're going on a Transatlantic cruise next month (not an Aquafest cruise) with several of the friends we made on the Panama Canal cruise. Unfortunately our current work schedule hasn't aligned with their schedule. I'd cruise with Aquafest in a heart beat.

We are doing a t/a on Caribbean Princess 4/6/17, which cruise are you taking?

  6. I saw that there was an existing thread for MSC. I'm interested in trying something different. What did you think about cruising with Costa? How was your experience? Likes/Dislikes?

    Thanks!

Take a look at the reviews, most of what is written is true.

We did a t/a from Savona to Miami three years ago on Luminosa.

Shore excursions canceled due to not enough English speaking participants.

Food and service was some of the best that we have ever experienced and the ships are beautiful.

We made some great life long friends from The Netherlands who met us in Amsterdam after our RSVP river cruise last summer.

    You may love it.
