Hi Lyle
My partner and I just booked this cruise, we're from Cairns in Australia.

We just docked at Laem Chabang the port gate wasn't far in a straight line but you have to walk around the perimeter of the shipping containers but still took less than 10 minutes. When we came back they let the driver in although he didn't have the official permit.

We just got a carafe of water from the pantry and took it back to our cabin. The water was $4.95 / bottle on board.

The biggest problem is that P&O are running these as budget ships but marketing them as luxury with prices to match. The number of staff is just too small and they are not experienced. The refurbishments were only in public areas and even some of that work looks cheap and rushed. P&Os currently marketing these cruises with free premium drinks packages which will win over the hoards, if they can get served ☺

Still a shambles! Just got off the worse cruise I've ever been on.

We went on the first night of the cruise and paid $39. It was OK but it was 3 courses and a limited menu. We enjoyed it but it's a lot when you have already 'paid' for dinner. The service on Pacific Aria was pretty poor for what it's supposed to be.

We were there last year and just caught a taxi. He took us for a drive over the new bridge and up to the top where the cable car goes. He then dropped us at the city gates. I can't remember the price but was cheap by Australian standards. Coming back it was just as easy. Lots of cabs just outside the gates. We bought our wall tickets when we got there it was all the same queue if you had tickets or not. It is a beautiful city.

We are just looking into the day tours for St Petersburg we want to book this one well in advance. We will book with one of the local onshore tour companies. There are some groups in the main roll call but they are all looking a bit full. Have you made plans for day trips?
