Not very good news reporting, KOMO, the Westerdam is still not to San Diego.
AQ, I wouldn expect Good Morning Zaandam to have a variety of guests as the cruise progresses, so you will likely see guest entertainers on some future days.
Roy
It was probably my error. I did think it was rather early to have a ship there.

Been busy the last few days so I played catch-up with your posts just now.
How many pieces is the puzzle that is available? Our friends, who are neighbors too, just love puzzles so they will be working on one when we sail in a few weeks on the Maasdam.
I assume every ship has puzzles available.
You should be in Hawaii now. Many great trips we had there between 1988-1999.
Now I would hate all the packing/unpacking between the islands and the flying.
Cruising is so easy and convenient!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Enjoy paradise.

Hi AQ Thanks for taking the time to report live. Just saw on the KOMO news channel from Seattle that the Westerdam has arrived in Seattle to start the cruise season. My, it sure does generate $$$$ for the area with all the ships out of their 2 piers.
What are the temps outside as you sail toward the Islands?? Should be Gala night soon - enjoy every minute.

Hi you two!! Its us from the Amsterdam Alaska May of 2014. Have a wonderful cruise to Hawaii. I will be following along from my home desk every so often. We are returning to Alaska on June 6th - another 14 day cruise on the Maasdam. Just had to return and see those awesome whales, etc. Your going to love the Hawaiian Islands.

Its where it all started - April of 1994 - out of San Juan. How those 37,000 tons seemed so large at that time. We were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and were "upgraded" to the Empress deck. I was so excited until we opened the cabin door. Lower & upper bunks!!!!!!!!!!!!! Still laugh about it. I cried when we left the ship - thought we would never cruise again. Ha On #30 or so. The bug bit us and keeps on biting

I read recently on CC that a pier was being built or perhaps in the planning stage for ISP and ready for cruises in 2016. Could this be the reason? I loved ISP when we were there on the Amsterdam in May, 2014. Hi AP. Remember me?

Sailed on the 14-day Alaska cruise last May, 2014 on the Amsterdam and a Catholic priest was on board. Went to Mass 5 times, which included the Ascension obligation.
It was a great way to thank God for the lovely scenery, etc we enjoyed everyday.
I just thought it was a one time only "special" but now I can plan on attending the Alaska cruise next June 6th, 2016.
Thank you HAL.

Clipper: I hope you feel better as each hour passes. Did you get any meds yet from the ship's medical facility??
I too love jigsaw puzzles but it may be the source of your illness. My parents are in assisted living and they do puzzles all the time. So far so good over the past months.
Loving your reports by the way.

Hi!!!!!!!!
Watched the Maasdam come into the pier area. Its now 8:03AM here and Jim and I wish you and your mom a great day in Halifax. Its one of our favorite ports. Hope that sunshine on the horizon gets better as the day progresses.

Hi again to you and your mom. I will be following along and will have memories of Newport, Bar Harbor and Halifax relived since we have been there on prior cruises.
I believe the basket I purchased sometime between 1977 and 1983 down at Myrtle Beach may be one of these baskets. It looks as new as ever and something tells me it was only $25 BACK THEN - maybe even cheaper. But I never would part with it in this life, no matter what its worth is.
We will check into flights from Vancouver verses Seattle for next years 14 day Alaska cruises.
I hope the ports are the same. Need to do some more searching.
I imagine you are having great weather today at sea. Its downright hot here with heavy pollen in the air.
Enjoy every minute on your cruise.

Hi AIP
Love reading your review and remembering just how magnificent Alaska truly is.
I had tears in my eyes when I first saw Tracy Arm and all the snow capped mountains
along the way. Not to mention those whale tails!!!!!!!
I feel we only skimmed the surface as to what Alaska has to offer. SOooooooo, we have to plan another trip.
Good meeting you at the M&G, near the burger area and up at Lido.

Hi Catherine
It was a pleasure meeting you and your mom. Remember us watching the snow capped mountains and we started chatting near the enclosed pool area??
I have enjoyed reading your review and wish I would have known about the puzzle.
I would have been there too at midnight trying to find pieces.
Alaska is now in our blood and we want to return and do what we missed. Now that may take at least 4 more cruises - just too much beauty!!!!!!!!
And I thought I was lucky - I won a nice bracelet (value $95) that last Friday morning and then $40 in the casino. But you - a cruise!!!!!!!!! Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Again, it was a pleasure to meet you and your mom.

Hi AQ
Enjoying your reports, both from land & sea. You are a wonderful writer. After our 6 trips to the Hawaiian Islands between 1988 - 1999 ALL the places you have seen brought back many memories for Jim & myself --- but wait --- a Seahorse exhibit???? Now that is very interesting . If we ever make it back to the islands we will see that.
Even though this cruise is nearing "completion" (hate the word ending) enjoy every remaining hour.
