  1. Thank you both for your responses...I know is going to be once in a lifetime experience specially seeing the volcano but I’m still scared and afraid I won’t enjoy it after all and don’t want to go and ruin it for him. Which is why I’m looking to hear other people’s experience to help me decide, he is going for sure with or without me :)

  2. My husband wants to take a helicopter tour in Hilo and is so looking forward to it as a birthday present, but I’m not convinced I can do it.

Can someone that has been on a helicopter ride here let me know if it compares to a roller coaster ride?

Im afraid of heights and I do not like the stomach feeling in roller coasters.

Please help me decide if I should join the ride! :(

  3. Mr. And Mrs. Smith, I checked my notes from calling Marriott and they told me ncl gives them the list of names two weeks before cruise date , they have a standing contract for a block of rooms each Friday. I am to call then to coordinate our rooms with the precruise room. She did say that the ncl check in is separate from the regular check in

  4. We took the option also, they booked the room and we called and added an extra room to it . From what I have read here when you get to hotel it is all set up and room number is already done and shuttle to ship time is already done

Thanks! Do you remember by any chance how much time in advance they booked the room? Also I assume you called the hotel to add the extra night not NCL right?

  5. Hi felicityd, thanks for your review, we sail next year!

Silly question about the free hotel night? We chose this too but Do I have to call anywhere to book this or does NCL will book for us?

Also, how do I go about adding one more night at this hotel prior to the cruise? Our flight gets there very late at night so We would like to get there Thursday night instead of Friday. I saw you did this so wondering how that works?

  7. Hi everyone,

Do I have to buy milk for my toddler on board or is that included in the free drinks onboard?

My son drinks milk at night right before bed. Should I buy any and take it with me? Or would be easy to get some there?

this will be the first time traveling with a kid...

    Thanks in advanced!

  8. Hi everyone,

Just before our vacation my husband got injured and sprained his ankle last night and ended up at emergency in the hospital.

Thankfully there was no fracture just very swollen. We are supposed to travel this Thursday to Florida and then take our Carnival cruise on Saturday.

I'm saying let's just cancel and I'm mourning our ruined vacation. But he is saying he still wants to go.

Do you think this is a good idea?

Are there wheelchairs available on the cruise for this reason?

Or should we just stay home so he can heal?

We are traveling with our 3 years old, so is only the 3 of us nobody else to help out with bags or anything else :(

    Any thoughts or encouraging words?

  9. We have been twice and both times the water was really calm.

There's plenty of free beach chairs down to the left and right of the pier. There will be a sign that tells you when you are "leaving" the cruise area (that's when the chairs are no longer free).

We always like to end the day at the port pool. It's a nice refreshing swim with no salt water. :D

Thanks for sharing your beautiful pics!

Was that floating thing yours? Or did you rent it there?
