  1. I only used it twice to message guest services and a friend. I had a notification icon and tone pop up on my Samsung phone telling me I had a new message both times. This is with the latest version of the MC app as of last week.

Also as a sidenote, while I was connected to the ship wifi but not the outside internet, I was still able to send and receive whatsapp messages (but not photos/video). Not sure how that got through.

Thank you for all your posts, it has been much appreciated.  From the comment above it appears you had the same table every night, did you request same table and same wait staff or was it just given to you, that is what I am looking for and was not sure we would receive it with the new dining way.

I had made a standing reservation every night prior to the cruise and I was seated at the same table every night, even when I came in 30 min early or late. We didn't specifically ask for it.

The timing is not good at all.  Were they short-staffed that day?  The service level promise was supposed to be results within ONE hour.  I can see a follow-up contact if late makes sense.  2.5 hours is much longer than was promised.  Hope we hear more real-world stats on this since that could really affect some folks expecting to fly.

There's two people with laptops (but only one "working") and about 4 or 5 health workers waiting to swap your nose. The bottleneck would be the people checking you in.

Not necessarily as the other poster didn't seem to get off the ship very early since they mentioned having breakfast around 9:30am (very late for disembarkation morning).  Since you can depart the ship shortly after 6am (big sisters) or 7am (mid-size sisters) in PE, a prompt disembark will get you an early test and early results.  As you know, the airport is only 10-15 mins away.

No, 930 was my normal cruise breakfast time. Today I got off the ship at 8ish and was out the terminal by 830.

Realizing food/dining is very subjective. I am interested in hearing thoughts from anyone who was on Enchanted about the dining on board, aside from the MDR. How was the MarketPlace/buffet for breakfast/dinner? Crown Grill or Sabatinis?  Pool deck grill? Gigis?  International Cafe (my favorite)?  We rarely eat in the MDR for breakfast and lunch and maybe only half of the nights for dinner, so love to hear about the other locations!

Breakfast at the buffet was so-so. Most of the food was only warm and the waffles, hash browns were hard when I ate around 930. Most likely because we had so little passengers... not many people eating at the buffets. It was also the same food every day, it got boring after a few days.

    Service was impeccable!

For you International travellers, would you please provide the process of getting tested prior to your flight home. Secondly, how long does it take to get your test results. Princess indicated that you get tested after you collect your luggage. There is an area set aside for testing at the Port.

Any detail information would be much appreciated.

    Thank you

I am travelling back to Canada and can report back the process now. Princess outsourced the Covid testing to DocGo, they had a table setup right outside the terminal. No lineup when I did the test, and it took 3-5 min to register for the test. If there are more international travellers on your cruise, it may take a while.

DocGo asked for an email address to send the results, and gave you an email address to followup if you don't get it after 2 hours. You're free to go after they swap your nose, no need to wait at the terminal for the results.

I got my results after 2 hrs and 15 min. It was a nerve wrecking wait after 1.5 hours as Air Transat won't allow me to check-in without the test results, and my flight was at 1:30.

I was sent a link to the DocGo website to retrieve the results. It had my name and DOB. No passport number. Oh, and it was a rapid pcr test.

That's all I can think of, let me know if you have any other questions.

Are you currently on the Enchanted Princess?  Have you been told by a letter or announcement what the exact requirement will be to walk around the Havensight stores on  St Thomas on your own

I am also on the Enchanted and this was delivered to the stateroom tonight regarding excursions. Looks like we can get off the ship on our own in all ports except for Dominica.

  8. The Pride docked in Baltimore at 9am today.

Sent from my XT1585 using Forums mobile app

I was on this cruise and although we docked at 9, we couldn't get off the ship until 10ish. We were the first group off for carry off debarkation (I'm guessing after fttf and VIPs) and we didn't exit the terminal until 10:45.

The delay was due to the high winds during the night so the ship was moving slower then usual.

  9. We have been earning gold coins and we are off to Vegas in Nov. (over 50,000)

Can you please tell me how to get the coupons for the restaurants.

Do I need to join something??

Please any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks Sue

If you're redeeming rewards from hotels on MGM property, you'll need to be a member of MLife. You can either join online and then go to an MLife desk at the MGM hotels to get your card, or just open the account directly at the hotel's MLife desk.

You'll need to redeem the rewards from the game (either facebook site or the mobile apps), just look for the Rewards section. Choose which one you want, and be sure to read up on any conditions and/or blackout dates; some buffets require you to stay at an MGM resort to use it! Fill in your name and email address, and you should get a redemption code in app and via email. Bring that email to the MLife desk at the hotel where you're going to use the reward along with your MLife card, and they'll put that reward on your card. Let your waiter know you are redeeming from your card when you order.

This was my experience last December anyways, not sure if anything has changed since then. Also, make sure that your name in MLife matches the name you filled in when you redeemed the reward, and that it matches your ID. They may give you a hard time or deny your reward if it doesn't all match.

  10. Considering your tropical vacation destinations are either A) flooded B) destroyed, or C) under siege of 125+ mile winds and rain, I think that going to ports were none of these things are happening and enjoying yourself, is a wonderful alternative. If you don't think so, feel free to cancel your vacation and stay home. If it were me, I'd pack some extra clothes and enjoy my new itinerary. The foliage should be changing in that part of the country. Oysters, clams and lobsters should be abundant right now, and the beer at the breweries will be cold. Yum!

I'll be on the Pride in 2 weeks, and I would've loved this new itinerary. I've been to NE once before and had a great time eating oysters, clams and lobsters. :p I'm also looking forward to conch in the islands too... what can I say? I cruise for food. :D

  11. I scored my Baltimore for May, it cost me $20 more for an OV. I have to have some light in the room. I didn't ask about balconies, as I'm out of work and didn't want to push my luck.

They quoted an extra $80pp for my sailing, but as interiors were sold out, I did the upgrade. This was the perfect sailing date for us (Dad's 70th bday + cheaper bus fares to Baltimore) so... :D

  12. We did the galley tour on the sea day last week on our Jewel cruise. As several posters had said, it was offered by the dining room staff the evening before. It was billed as a Galley tour and Champagne brunch. We had 40-50 people sign up for the tour and the group was divided into 3 smaller groups for the tour. Our tour was about 45 minutes and we saw all aspects of the food service operation. Quite an eye opener on how they handle 7,000+ meals a day.

After the tour, we returned to the MDR for brunch. They offered unlimited champagne, mimosas and bellinis. Starters included shrimp cocktail, sushi, fruit plate, antipasti and soup. Entrees included French Toast, Salmon, Beef Wellington and Quiche. and strawberry cheesecake for desert. Many of us ordered multiple starters (sushi and mushroom soup for me).

Being somewhat of a foodie, I found the tour very interesting and the brunch was good. Well worth the $28 fee (and my 10 year old was gratis).

Wow, 45 minutes? That's so much better then the 15 mins we got. I guess it's dependent on each ship's crew on how they want to run this tour.

  13. I did the galley tour on my last cruise. I booked it through our dining room waiter who offered us 25% off, so it came to about $26 per person. Not sure if it's the same one that Nemomo3 did as ours was labeled as brunch and had shared apps at the table (cheese, cold cuts, fruit) and a dessert table. We can choose one entree, there were breakfast items as well as meat (we had the Beef Wellington and salmon). Also unlimited champagne, mimosas or fruit punch.

The tour itself was short, probably 10 to 15 min top, and it was just a walk through one of their kitchens watching some of the chefs cook our lunch. The entire experience was about 2 hours including lunch. If you wanted to book this tour just to see how a kitchen on a cruise operates, you may be disappointed as they don't go into a lot of details. However, it was not a bad way to spend a few hours on a sea day. I personally won't book it again, but I also didn't think I got ripped off either doing it for the first time.

  14. I just cruised on the Indy with the exact rooming situation you are talking about. 3 adults (family), connecting room (armchair instead of sofa), OV. It is a little tight if you're like us and have the suitcase opened on the floor instead of unpacking into the cupboard. If someone is sitting at the table, it's a squeeze to walk between the coffee table and the chair. Also, if all 3 are in the room, at least one will have to sit on the bed. We have the beds apart, so at least we can lean back to the wall, but if it's together, then you're either laying down or sitting with no back support.

However, we are used to cruising 3 to a room, and can't really justify paying single price on a separate cabin that we're only using to sleep. As long as you're comfortable with each other's bathroom and sleeping routine/habits, you'll be fine for a few days.

Oh, and this room will be much smaller then your average North American hotel room as well. :)
