This was posted to the FB group I am in for our June cruise on the Quantum of the Seas last night. Can anyone verify if this is true?  I can't find it anywhere.  The post also said the person talked to the Mayor of Skagway and he confirmed it.  Royal said there have been no port changes.

I’d love to know if this is accurate. We’re on the Discovery Princess, docking RRF on a Thursday when Quantum is supposed to be docked RRA.

Pier 91 did not offer luggage storage after Covid (Not available '21 or '22 seasons).  We won't know until the start of the cruise season about 2023.  The down side is that once the ships sail from Pier 91, everyone goes home, so even if that service was offered, you would have to return to Pier 91 by mid afternoon to retrieve your luggage.

Have you tried to book online Port Valet?  Were you told your flight time didn't qualify?  There is a service at SeaTac that accepts luggage.  It may be worth your while to drop off you bags there (it's along the baggage pick-up carousels).

I was able to book it and it pulled up my flight time. But the confirmation email I got says I’d receive final confirmation on the ship and it also said for Southwest Airlines the latest flight is something like 5pm. Ours is after 9pm so I’m guessing we’ll find out on the ship we don’t qualify.

  3. Comparing two cruises (Ruby Princess and NCL Jewel) out of Seattle next June. NCL has Sawyer Glacier, Princess has Tracy Arm.

Would you have a preference btwn these two?

We did Glacier Bay last time.

    TIA!

  4. Thank you for the feedback everyone! Unfortunately we just had a death in the family so my cruise planning is on hold for a few weeks which means we'll miss the sale deadline. Im sure we'll find a good fare then. Or I hope so at least.

  5. Hi everyone!

Its been a while since DH and I have cruised. We found these boards super helpful for our first Alaskan cruise so I started lurking again recently. We are hoping to return to Alaska in 2015 for our 10th anniversary.

I wasn't planning on booking yet but our TA informed us that through the end of the month Royal Caribbean has a special on their Jewel of the Seas sailing from Seattle (we plan on leaving from Seattle as its closest to us). The special is that the second fair is half off. She swears this is a great sale and we should put our deposit down now. To me it just seems a bit early to be booking. Wont rates go down or at least stay about the same? To give you an idea, we're going in June and the rates for this cruise once you figure in this special rate start at $674 inside/$824 ocean view/$1226 balcony per person.

I'd appreciate any advice you could give. The one time we cruised Alaska we only booked about 5 months in advance, basically as soon as we started planning it. So I never really watched the fares to see what they did.

    TIA!

    Kirsten
