  1. We were on the Paradise this month as well and would take Grand Cayman over Nassau or Freeport any day. The paradise is older but clean. The pool in the back was not open when we were on it. And I don't know if it's like this on all ships or not but the only "hot" tubs were in the serenity area. And the one was warm compared to the other. But, the serenity area was an awesome place to hang out on a sea day. We got lucky and scored a couple chairs for the day. Not as breezy as the deck above. Only downer is that there is no bar or bathroom in that area. I needed to use the restroom and the attendant pointed me inside. I opened the door and I would have been walking through the Queen Mary lounge in my bathing suit while they were doing a future cruise thing. No thanks! So, I had to 2 decks up to use the restroom. Not a big deal, just further.

We were on the Paradise earlier this month for a short cruise. I didn't love the ship, but didn't hate it either. Serenity is our absolute favorite place to be on sea days...it was somewhat disappointing. It is smaller than most and in need of some refurbishing of cushions and loungers. And, the setup with the exit throught he Queen Mary lounge is just strange. We had absolutely awesome MDR service and a great steward as well. I don't know... I think I just like the bigger ships anymore.

  2. wow, I cannot believe how obsessed people are to reach platinum

I myself don't think it is such a big deal

why do people want to reach this point?

    just asking a question

People like status...it's human nature to want the next and best thing available. (Plus free laundry would be soooo nice)

  3. We're heading out in about two weeks on The Paradise for a short 4-day cruise. I just recently moved a lot of my sheet music over to my iPad in PDF and wanted to know if anyone can tell me if it is OK to play the various pianos on the ship if they are obviously not being used at that time. I'm not talking about the one in the main rotunda but there are usually pianos in the back bars or the actual piano lounge. It would nice to play some Christmas music while I am waiting on my wife to get ready for dinner. It's not a big deal, but since I'll have it with me I thought I would see what y'all think.

  4. I would still like to make some of it a surprise.

We're going to Grand Turk, Nassau, and HMC.

Maybe a cabana rental? Atlantis? Behind the Fun tour? Upgrade to a suite? Cancel and just have a birthday dinner at home? lol, just kidding on that last one.

    Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks in advance for any input. :)

I highly, highly recommend the cabana on HMC. We've done it twice now and it is well worth the $$. It will make good memories of the trip for you.

  5. ... she realized she still had some unused cruise cash so she went to the casino, took it out and put it in a slot machine. played a few spins or so then cashed out. which we all know, you go to the cage and get cash from them. ;) ..I said to her that was a very smart idea. I know ppl would do that instead of paying the ATM fee's on the ship.

This is how I get cash for excursions and port stops every cruise. Add money to my players account and then cash it out at the cage.
