  1. Hi All

I was on this cruise as well.

I agree with everything the OP said, but...

it was not our 1st MSC Cruise, and it won't be our last. We only took this cruise, to book another cruise onboard.

that was a disaster in itself, as the guy had no idea what he was doing, but it all worked out in the end.

Bar service was very slow, they ran out of tonic, so not Gin and t for you, and coke ( diet or zero)

we just ordered 4 drinks every time, Jameson and coke.

I had a great cruise, apart from the 48 hours it took to board ;-) and yes I am also a black card holder.

We received a full refund from MSC, including the tips ( service charge) we paid.

the money was recieved from MSC last week...

    So happy days...

  2. There is no vehicle access to the EWR train station. You would have to get dropped off at the P4 Airtrain Station and take the free Airtrain one stop to the EWR Airtrain station. The fare is $13/pp.

What I would do is to take a taxi or Uber to Newark Penn Station. NJ transit fare to New York Penn Station is $5.25/pp. The final cost should be a bit less, but Newark Penn Station is a major transportation hub with red cap service available should you need it. It also has restrooms and eateries as well as escalators and an elevator up to the platform.

From Newark Penn (or the airport) you can take any North Jersey Coast Line or Northeast Corridor train to New York Penn Station.

Greetings and thanks for all your help

  3. Four hours “should” be enough time unless there is some sort of systematic failure at Penn Station. You can sign up at PANYNJ.gov to receive text or email notifications about AirTrain and JFK. Don’t sign up until that day though.

You can also download the MTA LIRR Train Time App. That “should” inform you of any serious delays at Penn when you check.

I had the pleasure of visiting London and Edinburgh last summer and the public transportation in NYC is like a third world country compared to there. It’s an embarrassment. I would have a Plan B just in case the LIRR/AirTrain is out of service when you need it.

    Thank You.

Plan B will be the subway, and Plan C will be a Taxi.

  4. Hi all

Any advice please: We have no issue taking public transport and have taken the train / light rail in EWR / NY many times before.

We get off the Anthem on Saturday 24th March. We need to get to Penn Station NY, ASAP.

below is the 2 public transport options I found:

Taxi to 34th Street Light Rail Station, than HBLR to Newport, then PATH – 33rd Street

Taxi to 58 Legal St at Newark airport, then north Jersey coast Line train, straight to Penn Station.

2 Adults with no walking issues, but we will have 1 large and 1 small luggage each.

    What would you do?

or, any other option, apart from a Taxi direct?

    Thanks.

  5. I hope somebody can help with this.

We will be in Nassau for 1 day on our upcoming cruise.

If we were to book a room for 2 people at the comfortSuites, is there any chance we can get 4 wristbands?

We will not actually use the room, just a 1 min check incheck out, just to get the bands.

    Thanks

  6. Hi all:

Been searching RRCL's site and feeling stupid as they just won't show me current pricing for packages. I guess that is only revealed after booking? I know it's all subject to change, but does anyone know what is currently the price at least? Was hoping to know before booking as this affects from where we book (friends in another country going with us see Deluxe included if they book all of us there).

To be more specific, if it's even relevant, we are looking at 7nt on Rhapsody out of Venice next September. Thanks in advance for any information!

if you go to the Irish site - .ie, you will get the package for free if you book the cruise on there.
