  1. Hi Everyone,

We have always purchased the premium drink package and I noticed on the list of whiskeys offered by Celebrity in this package it includes Lagavulin. On the last Celebrity cruise I did not find it anywhere. Can anyone offer a different result?

    Regards,

    Malcolm

  2. We did a 35 day cruise on the Encore Singapore to Athens arriving May 6. This was our 3rd and most enjoyable Sebourn Cruise.

The only disappointment was the TK Grill, in general the food is poor. We ate there four times, never had a problem getting additional reservations. The TK Bar was great, we spent most evenings before going to the Restaurant having pre-dinner drinks. The piano player and singer (a woman) was also good.

The TK items served in the Restaurant were very good. We enjoyed eating in the Restaurant.

While we were onboard Seabourn was converting an area into a laudry and ironing room. I am sure by now it is available for use,

  3. We spent 35 days on the Encore (Singapore to Athens arriving May 6) and enjoyed our time a great deal. The TK Grill was a great disappointment but the TK Bar was good with a terrific female singer and piano player.

The Restaurant was very good including the TK menu items served there. We did not have any serving issues in the Colonnade or the Patio Grill, in fact service was good. The cabins are slightly smaller (narrower than the smaller ships).

This was our 3rd and best Seabourn experience dispite the TK Grill disappointment.

  4. We did that same 35 day cruise on the Encore from Singapore to Athens ending May 6th.

I was very disappointed i n the TK Grill, ate there four times, the lamb was terrible, the rib-eye mediocre and the other two times I had the fish dish which was decent. If Thomas Keller ever ate in his named restaurant, he would be very disappointed.

The TK Bar was very enjoyable as was the female piano player and singer, we spent almost every early evening there before going the the Restaurant for dinner.

The TK dishes served in the Restaurant were very good as well as most everything else on the Restaurant menu.

  5. We spent 35 days on Encore doing the Singapore to Athens segment ending May 6. We never had any problem with places to sit around the pool and we always sat in the shade near the restaurant portion, opposite end to the bar.

We thought the Restaurant was very good. The TK Grill was mostly very bad, the quality of the menu was very poor. We were expecting something very good with the Thomas Keller name and it was very disappointing. We ate there four times and the only good item on the menu was the fish dish. The TK Bar and piano player were very good! We spent almost every early evening before dinner in the TK Bar and then continuing on mostly to the restaurant. The woman piano player and singer was very good.

The cabins are slightly smaller (narrower in width). Overall we still had a terrific time on the Encore as we have had on two previous Seabourn cruises on the smaller ships, with the major exception the disappointing TK Restaurant.

We would enjoy the Encore again.

  6. Hello All,

We are leaving from Singapore on April 1 and our documentation says 2:00PM, boat departs at 5:00PM.

Does anyone know if Seabourn is strict about this or if we show up around noon will they lets board?

    Thanks,

    Malcolm

  7. Hi Everyone,

I have enjoyed two Oceania cruises and they were fine! We will be enjoying our third cruise starting tomorrow.

I have cruised on Oceania twice and several times on Celebrity, Seabourn and Crystal.

I only look at value for money paid and I believe they are all good!

I believe that if one receives, what they would expect for the money paid

    then everything is OK!

    Regards,

    Malcolm

  8. I have only tried Seabourn and Crystal of the luxury lines and Seabourn is certainly the number one.

Regular Seabourn balcony cabins are superior in size and quality as opposed to the smaller Crystal cabins. I also like the food and service better on Seabourn then Crystal. The smaller ship and crowds of people are also a good benefit of Seabourn.

  9. I have enjoyed Celebrity 3 times, but when we wish luxury I would definitely pick Seabourn,

We have been on Crystal once and Seabourn twice, and definitely the latter is preferable.

The service was better on Seabourn, the cabins are far superior on Seabourn.

Crystal is not even close. Food is about the same but service on Seaborun is much better. On Crystal it was very evident that if you were a frequent Crystal cruiser you received better service.

Seabourn by far the better cruise line for the average upscale cruiser.

    Regards,

    Malcolme

  10. When Seabourn uses this wording with respect to availability, what does it usually mean: nothing available, limited availability, wait list only.

We are on our 2nd Seabourn cruise crossing the Indian Ocean this November, and I believe last week or the week before, all selections showed available.

We were thinking of changing our stateroom.

    Thanks,

    Malcolm

  11. Thanks Keith.

We are going to try Seabourn (Sojourn) again with a 18 day cruise from Dubai to Singapore, Nov 18/15, very reasonably priced for Seabourn.

We can get a non-stop to Dubai from Toronto, which makes it easy to the start line, flying home after a few days in Singapore is much longer.

    Regards,

    Malcolm
