1. It’s just a quite different atmosphere and positive vibe to the whole voyage. We are still working 50 plus hours a week with way to little vacation time allotted in our hectic lives, so a transatlantic passage with great company is exactly what we need.

Hope to meet y’all on this cruise.

  2. Looks like we are the next to take flight. Still haven't put a think in a suit case and we fly at six thirty tonight to Frankfurt and then on to Rome tomorrow morning. Oddly, my only wish is that our overnight flight were longer so I'd have a better shot at substantial sleep. At only 7.5 hours it will be tough to get sleep since they will serve two full meals and the flight is likely to be early. I won't eat the breakfast but it seems the commotion of serving it is too hard for me to sleep through if past experience is anything to go on. Definitely a first world problem.

So we are packed and ready, didn't get any Euro's though, we will have to get that in Heathrow, I'm sure that will be possible. Just one more day at work, tomorrow, and then of we go, at 21:45 out of Atlanta, a few hours in London and Rome here we come.

Can't wait to meet everybody on this sight......!

    Kim.:):):)

  3. Yeah, we are looking forward to this trip. First we are going on a TA, onboard the Reflection, November 1st.

On this Summit cruise we would like to met some guys to hang out with, on tours and Martini Bar, our favorite...!

We did this same cruise in January this year, and loved it so much that we decided to do it again.

It would be nice to meet with some family members in this forum, before we leave.:):):)

  4. It seems to me that most of the Canadians and all the Americans were either sitting at the small Crush Bar or standing. We did both and circulated. The last night, a bunch of us were sitting in the chairs by the railing next to the atrium laughing before dinner, along with a couple of straight friends. Do you remember the man with the beard from St. Louis? He almost always had his camera with him and on formal nights was dressed in formal Scots garb, with kilt.

We have European friends and like Europeans, so it's a shame we didn't get to meet; hopefully, we'll all become friends on this cruise.

Yes we do remember the guy in the kilt, on formal nights. His name is Richard Hunt, and he was very nice to spend time with, always active and interesting. Ted and I are also thinking about just taking the tram up to Laguna, when we are in Tenerife. I have been there before, as almost all Scandinavians spend a couple of weeks in the Canaries each winter. Now that I live in Atlanta, I no longer have a desire for sunny beaches, the way I used to, when I lived in the Arctic. lol

  5. All is forgiven, my son. From the way those chairs were so tightly together, you couldn't have gotten out of that circle if you'd wanted to! Actually, I tried to be friendly with a couple guys in that group out on deck, etc, but they never seemed interested. Like Kathy Griffin, I must be on the D List. ;)

Actually we were always sitting in the Martini Bar, every night before late night dining. As I am trying to think back, I seem to remember that all the people that were sitting in that corner, were Europeans and Canadians. I wonder why? The only the only thing that comes to mind, is that in Northern Europe we don't really stand up and mingle, we tend to sit down. So partly it is just a matter of cultural difference I suppose. I am not fond of sitting at the bar, I do however like to walk around and socialize that way.

On the TA in 2011, there were some swedish guys and I was excited to practice my swedish, which I hadn't done for over 10 years, at the time.

Ted & I are really looking forward to this trip and to meeting all the guys on this Roll Call.

  6.
Randy,

We have a transfer to the port arranged and have room for others. If we have 5 people (including us), the transfer will be 170E; if we have 8 people, it will be 200E. You'd have to get yourselves to our hotel in front of the Pantheon and the transfer leaves at 9 a.m.
Ted and I, Kim, are interested in joining your transfer to the port. We are at hotel Smeraldo, not far from your hotel, so we could easily get there, in time for the transfer. Could you please let us know how to sign up and pay.
Thanks, Kim & Ted, from Atlanta.
  7. Hi, guys.

My partner Ted and I are on this cruise. It will be our second TA, we went the first time on the Solstice, November 28th, 2011, and loved it.

We had a whole group of 20+ gay guys in the Martini Bar, every night.

We had a blast and can't wait to do it again.

We will be in Aqua, and would love to find some people to dine with, in Blu, our favorite restaurant on the sea.

We plan on spending 1 or 2 nights in Rome, prior to the cruise.

    See you guys on board.
