  1. That was definitely not the only thing that they did wrong. I do know that the menu states it is a beer, however right on the can it states SODA. It was not great customer service to straighten it out. Great customer service would have been to let the bar staff all know that it is not a beer at all. The excursion desk is totally disorganized, the staff were rude except the staff from Indonesia for some reason, and there were frowns from almost everyone. Not a pleasant experience at all.

Well, I would guess about 90% of the population doesn't know the difference between ginger ale and ginger beer. Myself included, so I looked it up.

Ginger beer is actually brewed and fermented while ginger ale is essentially a carbonated beverage made from water and ginger.

I had a completely different experience than you. I ordered a vodka on the rocks and asked for a can of the ginger beer. The casino bartender informed me it is not really beer (which I already knew) and I let him know I was using it as my mixer. Maybe this was the same bartender you schooled while you were onboard :)

Your complaint in your original post was that you were charged for a beer, when you ordered a soda. No, you were charged the 6.00 the drink costs, the 6.00 that the menu clearly states. Who cares if the crew calls it a beer or a soda, it is probably confusing to someone when english isn't their first language. So sorry that it took too long for the crew to fix your mistake-not theirs. I'm also sorry you had such a horrible cruise.

  2. I totally agree. It seemed like no one knew what was going on. If you ask a question, you're likely to get a different response from each person you ask. My sister ordered a Ginger Beer. On the back of the can it states non-alcoholic SODA, they charged her $6.00 for a beer. Their statement was "It says Beer", we responded with so does Root Beer but it's not a beer and Ginger Ale, but it's not an ale. It seemed to take forever to get it straightened out. They are very disorganized. We will not be sailing with them again for sure.

All of the menus clearly stated the price of the Gosling's ginger beer at $6.00, it was also marked with an asterisk which meant it was not valid to be purchased with the vouchers or the classic AI. You stated that they straightened it out, which I assume means they gave it to you for a discounted price (or the price of a soda)-- well, I would consider that excellent customer service since the error was not on their end. Bravo MSC
