just wanted to get an update and find out if they are opening the balcony dividers on FOS? we have three E1 cabins and hoping they will. TIA. :)
I would like to know this as well. We have two balconies and would like to open them up. Thanks.
eta - sorry, just saw an answer.

That is AWESOME.... What Category/cabin type let you save $700?
E1. All rates dropped for two adults and one child - so combined it was just under $700 (more like $660, but I get carried away some times).

Hi can you tell me how this is done ie where do you check and who do you contact?
TIA Marcella
I just checked RCI's website online and noticed the same reservation for my stateroom category was much less. I emailed my TA and she confirmed, called RCI and got the reduced rate. It works out to be less to pay at final payment since we aren't there yet vs. a refund or OBC. There are some restrictions as to when it won't work (WOW sales for example), but this wasn't one of those times.

I checked Monday and our cruise was down almost $700. We got the reduced fare. It is great.

or any thoughts on 8410?
I was told this isn't the greatest to have. There is a window with a door and some "obstructions" of the view. We had the choice of this, but went with a midship E1 on Deck 8 for our cruise.

Booked using the WOW sale and are confirmed for February 2011

Radio - Thanks for the reports and pics. Something about that approach to Ocho Rios you just can't get over. I love it. Have a great day and let us know about Island Village. Has been a few years since we have been there so we hope it is still great.

If you have never been, I certainly think a visit to Quincy Market is in order. As mentioned Durgin Park is there and is probably one of the oldest restaurants in the country as well as just the atmosphere. It can be fun. Yes, there is a Hard Rock there as well as some named stores you will recognize, but there are also vendor kiosks with some unique items and then you can say you have been there. Boston Common is about a 10 min walk or so and then you could go for a swan boat ride in the Public Gardens.

Find the Booze Man. He was great. Harry was a great head waiter, but this was 2 years ago.
SmileMom, I think it was deck 3 but might have been 5. I will have to check.

This was a lot of fun and leaves right from the dock. A submarine tour that brings you about 80-100 feet down. You get to see a lot of sea life and things. We had a great time and didn't take the whole day. We were done by lunch and had the afternoon to enjoy everything else.

I was ready to book the Dunns river Falls, but now I am a little concerned after reading the mixed reviews. I will have my 8 and 11 year old with me, they are both fairly active. How difficult will it be for them to climb.
I would take my now 8 year old son with us and climb. I think he would be capable of it. I of course would be right with him and helping at any point. But I wouldn't worry. You could always exit along the way.
I do know he would love the tubing as well.

Jonty - You should wear some sort of water shoe. Old sneakers will also work. Some bring a real old pair, wear them, then throw them out at the top. There are also water shoes for rent. It will probably take you about 30-45 minutes depending on the pace of the group you are with.
K&L - Yes, I posted to your thread as well.
Tarheel - You will love the falls. There are many pools to sit in along the way. At the bottom is a beach and the ocean. There are several areas along the way to exit the falls and use the stairs to climb if it becomes too much for you. You can then go up alongside and reenter if you wish. There are entrances where some of the pools are also. I am not sure about a private guide, but I bet for a price they will do anything. If you are at the front of your group the guide will help you and your DH behind can give you the scenario you are looking for as well. Each group has at least two guides, one guiding, the other filming.

Its maybe 10 mins away and that is stretching it. The stairs are not steep stairs and and there are hand rails. It is a wide open type area. The stairs out of the falls to the landings are normal wooden type stairs you would see on a deck or the like. Some had rails, some didn't.

Thanks. So I can try the climb, and if I have difficulty I can get out and use the stairs... then go back in?
You are correct. You can also look as you walk down and evaluate your options. You can also get in higher up if you want and go from there. Give it a shot and see how you do. There are many people around as well that can help you get out (at least I hope they would).

You will need to decide for yourself as you know the extent of your disability. There are areas where you need to climb up a a significant distance before it levels out again. You need to steady yourself on slippery rocks and climb against moving water, but again you can judge that. You can get in and out at different points so you could at least experience the water and decide if you want to explore the climb in different sections. There are stairs immediately next to the falls so you can enjoy the beauty and watch others climb.
