Sorry to jump on the thread but I have the same question, the difference is I have 1 large suitcase, 1 small carry on and a backpack, what should I do to get to my hotel ?
-
I have an upgrade from Concierge class to Aqua class because the price for Concierge class drop after final payment. They told me they couldn't give me the refund but they could upgrade us to the Aqua Class. Was this true, I thought the price was guaranteed ?
So my family with 2 cabins are upgrade to Aqua Class, my friends are still in the Inside class. It means we can't dine together because our assigned dining room is Blue. What can I do about it? Can I go to the MDR instead of Blue , can my friends pay to eat at Blue ? I want to try Blue and the Aqua Class but I want to have dinner with my friends too

Thanks for all your reply. I decide to use Greyhound, it's actually better, $17 a ticket and the bus leaves Seattle at 2:45pm

Hi all,
The itinerary for Soltice is arriving Seattle port at 6am. Do I have enough time to catch the train at King street station about 10 minutes away to catch the train to Vancouver at 7:45? Do we have to go through security line at the train station as at the airport
Can we get off the ship when we are at Vancouver port ?

I was able to book 4 tickets for this excursion on the June 15th cruise. When I booked, the time was 6:30am but now when I check " my reservation" this excursion came up with the 8am tour, it works out better for us

Same, as the Perks are per cabin. There are exceptions made, from time to time, once on board concerning the beverage package, as I understand it.
bon voyage
Yes, that is my concern. I pick the classical beverage package perk. It seems to be the most valuable perk for adult. I don't know what my daughter can get: the classical non alcohol or the premium non alcohol package? Both of them are less expensive than the classical drinking package
-
Do both passengers in the same cabin have to pick the same perk or it can be different of each person?

We have been waiting for the Celebrity Solstice to offer this excursion. I have called and been told they are not going to offer this. I don't believe that is correct but it's more than frustrating trying to talk to them. I think the Solstice is the only ship that doesn't have this excursion listed
What cruise are you booked on ? I booked the June 15th and found this excursion on their website, under " cruise planner". I booked 4 tickets for this tour

Thanks for all your advice. Another question, do we need to bring passport ?
-
I was just teasing. Coastal side will offer a better view, in my opinion. But it depends on your preference.
Yes, that was the case when we was cruising along the Mediterranean coastal line
-
Depends on where you are cruising as to which side will have better views.
It's Alaska cruise.
C1,2,3..what's the difference ?
-
Probably not, most of the ice will still be there, ship won't be able to get real close. Also, the whales were starting to migrate so they were on the move.
Oh, too bad, we can't go in August, my kids have summer classes and band camp.
Did you try the dog sled?
-
the same side???
Sorry, I didn't make myself clear.
I would like to know which side of the ship has better view? Coastal side or Ocean view side? I don't know much about picking the good cabin
-
Yes, you can switch cabins once on board and get a room key for the new cabin. If you can get 2 cabins next to each other, even if not connecting, you should do that. Your 17 year old would be able to have a booking with her brother. There is not a big difference between a veranda cabin and a concierge cabin on Solstice.
Celebrity does not take reservations for shows.
They often offer on board discounts for specialty restaurants so you might get a deal by waiting, unless it is a holiday sailing when deals are hard to come by.
If I get 2 cabins next to each other, which side of the ship should I pick?

It's the Tracey Arm Fjord and Glacier Explorer. Basically the cruise ship gets as close to the glacier as possible and you get off and get on a small boat, in our case it was a very nice catamaran. They had nice restrooms, a bar and a nice heated area inside. Once boarding you then get closer to the glacier although a lot depends on what time of the year you go. We went in late August and the ship was real close to the Glacier and we saw loads of wildlife at the glacier. You then head back to Juneau where you will meet the ship. Heading back takes a couple of hours and we went into an area which took us to another portion of the glacier. This area was loaded with seals and the Cruise Ship could not get into this other area. While on the way back we saw loads of whales. A lot depends on time of year, we had very little ice in August so got real close. Other months not so good.
This excursion is only available from Celebrity, not privately or at least it wasn't when we went.
Do we expect to see that in June? We are booked on June 15th cruise.

Hi,
We are booked on Soltice June 15th, 2018. Even we travel extensively but this is the 1st time with Celebrity and 3rd cruising ( the other cruises were with RCL)
I booked online, no TA., I need to prepare and learn a lot of things to avoid unpleasant surprise.
There was not connected cabins available, so I booked cabin # 1178 and 1285 across the hallway. Should I keep them or switch to the cabin next to each other, on the same side?
Because my daughter is 17 years old, I have to be in the same cabin with her and my husband is in the same cabin with my son. Can we switch cabin when we get on board or can we get the keys for the other cabin?
Is that a big difference between the Concierge class and the Veranda class? Do I need to make reservation for the shows and specialty diner before boarding?
Thanks a lot for your advice.

We are booked on June 15th cruise and we got 4 tickets for the excursion easily. It was on my cruise planner 4 days ago

Hi,
I am looking for an Alaska Cruise in June 2018. We don't have much experience in cruising. Only 2 cruises with RCL
This time we would like to choose an upscale cruise line so I picked Silversea Shadow . The itinerary, the price are OK but I concern about the ship. Some recent reviews mention the ship being old, tired, far away from luxury cruise.
Would you please to let me know what do you think about the Silversea Shadow , I don't want my first experience with a luxury cruise will be a bad one
Thanks,

Thanks for all your advice. My daughter decided that we would take the longer cruise and would have 2 days in Athens. That might give her more Greek history than Olympia site
-
Holland America goes to Katakolon.
How do you compare Holland America to RC and Celebrity ?
-
Hi all,
We are planing the 1st cruise to Italy and Greek Isles. Our times is flexible between June 2016 and July 2016. We like to start in Rome, my daughter likes to go to Katakolon to then go to Olympia, (she loves Greek history and mythology) but not many ships from Rome stop by Katakolon. The only RCC go to Katakolon is Jewel of the Sea: 7 days (Rome, Santorini, Mykonos, Athens, and Katakolon)
My friend recommend me to chose the Celebrity Reflection, which is 11 days, the price just a little bit more than the 7 days cruise, not too much. The only problem is the cruise ship doesn't stop by Katakolon, its ports are Rome, Santorini, Athens, Mykonos, Kusadasi, Bodrum, and Naples.
Are there more things to do and to see in Kusadasi and Bodrum than Olympia? Which itinerary do you prefer? Should we take the Celebrity Reflection instead of Jewel of the Sea?
We are a family of three, parents in the 50's and one girl 15. We love history, culture and food. We don't need much activities on board, more likely to see the shows, relax, read....
Please give us some advice. Thanks

We will travel for 2 weeks before getting on the cruise, it will be hard to have only one carry on
We book for 3 nights at the St. Regis
