  1. My family is taking our first cruise ever on the Triumph leaving out of NOLA on Jan 2. My children each got to bring a friend. My youngest daughters friend (age 13) has not obtained a passport. How much trouble is it going to be to travel with a birth certificate for her if the rest of my group of 8 people in total have one? Her parents are divorced and I have already had them get a notarized letter stating it is Okay for her to travel with my husband and I. So that is covered. I am trying not to be irritated. I paid for the trip and only asked that the guests obtain a passport and now here we are less than two weeks from departure and one doesn’t have one. Will we be Okay?

Please note the BC must have the raised seal imprinted on it proving its government issued. A photocopy will not allow boarding.

  2. Thank you "everyone" for your replies. As this will be a ship we have never been on before (I've been on all kinds of ship sizes :)), I just wanted to get an idea of "everyone's opinions, pro/con if you had been on the ship within this past year.

From your response so far, it looks like a good ship that we might try out either the end of March or the first part of April, as Missouri is hard to get out of in the first few months of the year, as I have LEARNED by experience! :)

I love the Conquest, she’s my favorite ship by far. I’ve sailed three times on her, once on Freedom and once on Valor (Conquest sister ships) and I like the size vs amount of people. It just seems like a nice balance. Now that they have a Serenity area, I may never sail a different ship again, lol!

  3. I used those once with my bigger suitcase, but they don't fit so well with my carry on. Being there's less room, I found they made it too thick because I had to put one on top of the other due to the limited configurations. I had to use the expander which didn't make it carry on compliant. So I either roll my clothes, or pack them flat alternating pants, tops, put bathing suits and things that can get a little wrinkled in between my cloth bags that hold my shoes on the one side of my suitcase.

    Thank you!

  4. You may want to dig up the contract for one of those cruises where they did your air arrangements. The wording will be interpretable by the cruise line to mean that they will do their reasonable best to wait for you but there are various circumstances that may make that impossible. As with ship's excursions, all that may really be guaranteed is that they will eventually get you to the ship, which may be at the next port (imagine if the next port is several sea days away).

We only did that twice and found out it was cheaper to book on our own and we like flying in at least one day before. But you're right, that's exactly what it says!
