  1. We have been in the royal family suite on the Grandeur 11 years ago...we love the whole layout and huge balcony. It is perfect for a small multi-generation family traveling together....We suspected the benefits and suite advantages had changed a great deal since then. Thank you for the picture!

  2. My DH and I went to Coba a little over a year ago. I loved it...I love all the really old historical ruins and the Mayan "technology". I was in Macho Picchu last summer. I did not climb the pyramid, even though it was allowed at that time. I was shaky about the coming down holding on to a slack rope. There was information that they were possibly going to stop public climbing because of the erosion. We were not impressed with the actual bus tour booked through RCCL. The AC on the bus was broke...the lunch was not until 4pm...which was right before we had to move quickly to the ship. At the end of the day, the trip was worth it for me to see the really historically cool ruins..

  3. About a year ago my DH and I cruised on The Constellation. It was an anniversary splurge...We were in a concierge cabin. We are Diamond with RCI..and have loved every cruise. We loved the physical ship and the cabin. We love the older, smaller ships. The service on the Constellation was not so wonderful. We were under the impression the service and the ambience would be even better than RCI. The crew and the service was not even close to the wonderful service and attention we had always experienced on RCI. We had heard that the ship had recently been repositioned to the US with shorter cruises vs the European longer cruises and the crew was not happy with the change. So we have an opportunity to cruise on the Constellation again. The threads have had mixed reviews. We are hoping that the Celebrity ambience is back....please advise.

  4. We found the best seats and viewing site..it was a table for 2

right by the "Sports Bar" on the promenade...In the nook behind the railings of the stairs to the casino...we were protected from the crowds..and had a clear view of all the entertainment. The catch is that we started sitting about 8:15pm....but then we really enjoyed the people watching..

  5. My DH and I did Coba in December 2012..the ruins and the tour of the ruins were wonderful. Many folks climbed the Pyramid, all ages. I chickened out...it was not the going up...it was the coming down...but it was great to watch and take pictures. The bus trip there and back was not wonderful. Coba was very large..clean and impressive. I recommend Coba.

  6. So I am thinking that casual wear in Lima and Cuzco, long shorts, capris...are good, to wear with a casual shirt/t-shirt...Are any of you able to recommend any specific restaurants? We are staying in Miraflores...I love this advise. I am listening to my Spanish CD's every day....

  7. Sue,

I searched for dates in July, August and November 2013 and got available trains. The tickets for 2014 will not open until mid to late December 2013. We went to Machu Picchu in February this year and the tickets didn't open up until just after xmas.

March is low season in Peru so you won't need to worry about whether you are able to get tickets - you could buy them the day before in Cusco and still find available tickets. The only tickets you might not find are Cusco to MP but you can alway get tickets from Ollanta to MP and this is in many ways a better journey. We left from Ollanta and got a taxi to take us there stopping at sites on the way. On the way back we bought tickets all the way to Cusco but they actually offloaded everyone at Urabumba and put us on buses back to Cusco because the Hiram Bingam is the only train running all the way to Cusco because of damage to the track from landslides. The Cusco station is actually at Poroy which is some way out of town so you will need a car/taxi to collect you anyway.

If you have any other questions I'm happy to answer them.
