We did the NCL Blissing July 2019 with GB, and I would say , yes, it’s a must. It’s really beautiful and relaxing to stay on the ship and enjoy the views.

We did the Dyea Dave van trip up and train back from Fraser on July. The van trip up is nice and makes lots of stops for pictures. They stop at a sled dog training place and you can play with the puppies and dogs. We actually loved that. The train ride back is really excellent and is well worth the time and money. The views are extraordinary. Dyea Dave picks you up from and drops you back at the ship. Couldn’t be easier.

Can you tell me who the Skagway excursion was with? trains and puppies are a great combination !

We did the Hoho buses inHelsinki and Stockholm. Tallin you can just walk on you own. In Germany we did the Molli train on our own and that was so much fun!
-
You can totally do the Molli train on your own. We loved it! The countryside is beautiful. Taking the train through Bad Doberman was so cool. And Kuhlungsborn is a charming seaside resort town with a promenade on the beach. If that’s too much walking for the little ones, you can just ride the Molli to the end and back and hang out in Bad Doberman and get ice cream and walk around before going back to Warnemunde.
You have to buy two sets of train tickets. You will need cash for the Molli. Travelani does a good job of explaining the trains. Bear in mind, group train tickets are a thing, and it’s quite a bit cheaper to buy your tickets as a group than individually if you did it through the ship.

The taxi drivers in Warnemunde did not take credit cards, nor did the Molli train station. We did Germany on our own. THe posts above are correct, a US chip card will work almost everywhere except train ticket machines. In Russia the gift shops the tours take you to take credit cards, USD or Euros and you can tip the tour guide in either currency.

We did this in the other direction, from the cruise terminal to the airport. Picked up the luggage at the airluggage office then went through security. So coming off the flight, you will go through immigration, pick up your luggage and walk it to terminal 2. No need to go through security again. The office was on the second floor a few years ago. It took us a while to find it, but the transfer worked perfectly and was very convenient. We loved our Baltic cruise on the Getaway.

Don’t do it.

Yes that is the hotel. Is it a good location? This will be my first time using the path system transit, I am hoping I can figure it out. I will be there August 26 to 28.
Are you planning on visiting NYC?
It’s easy enough to take the Path but a hotel in NYC would be more convenient to be able to go back to the hotel and rest. But if the price is right, it’s fine.

Arriving to Cape Liberty in the Summit Sunday Oct/21, booked AA from JFK to DFW at 2:56PM. Will I be on time?
Celebrity does not sell transfer to JFK:mad:, thinking about alternative options: how is the availability of taxis? or how long does it take a UBER to pick you up from the moment you request it?
Uber should be fine. Or try Airbrook car service.

Anyone have thoughts on making a 12:05pm flight out of EWR, docking at Cape Liberty in Newark at 7am and taking my own luggage off?
Sent from my iPad using Forums
Totally doable. Take a taxi, car service or uber.

Try Airbrook

I thought they were #4 and Newark was #1? They are both pretty bad.
LGA is worse than EWR

As some have said, no reason to switch hotels. It’s really easy to get to the cruise port.
Add the Highline to your list if you have time with a stop at Chelsea market for lunch.

We did the Molli train with two teenagers and we all loved it. At the end there’s a lovely town to stroll and spend some time and even spend some time on the beach. It was one of our favorite ports and we did it on our own based on travelannies website.

In Russia, The souvenir stores the tour took us to took CC, USD or Euros in Russia. You’ll need cash to tip the tour guides there as well, in Usd or Eur. While CC are accepted virtually everywhere, I would bring some euros, which were accepted in Copenhagen for the beginning and end.

Check out travelannis website. We did the Molle train on our own, and it was a really nice day and very inexpensive. It drops you at a lovely seaside town where you can walk along the beach, get lunch, and take the train ride back. If you dock in Rostock , take the ships shuttle to Rostock. It drops you at the train station. Bring euros for the trains. It seems complicated to do on your own, but it is really not hard.

We did the Molle train in Rostock. It is well worth doing. We did it on our own. I would recommend taking the ships shuttle to/from Rostock, and make sure you have euros for the Molle.

I obsessed over this for our cruise last summer. We stayed at 71 Nyhavn for 2 nights before our cruise and it was just perfect. It was easy to get there via the Metro from the airport and a short walk with luggage over the cobblestones. We walked everywhere from the hotel. There is a cute bakery on the other side of the canal on a side street where we got coffee and pastries in the morning. We took a taxi to the port. We had a room overlooking the canal and it had air conditioning. Good luck!
Danish Viking was so immensely helpful in planning. Many thanks to him for his efforts!

We checked our luggage at the port with Airluggage.dk. They have a van there when you disembark and deliver it to CPH. From there we grabbed a taxi into Copenhagen and toured on foot until early afternoon and took the train t the airport. It was so easy to do on your own. Once at CPH it was easy to grab our luggage and check in.

Sorry if this has been covered, but we dock at LP41 in Rostock. It appears there are buses from the port to get me to the train station, but how do I buy my family/group ticket to Bad Doberman if my starting point is LP41? I'm assuming there is no ticket office or machine at the port, but perhaps that is not the case.

We are taking 2 teens on the Getaway to the Baltics this month and there appear to be a good number judging from our roll call. Will let you know when we get back.
-
However if you have to take an Uber to the port where are you parking your car for the cruise? With the HIlton you get all three things....hotel, parking and transportation. For us, 4 adults, it is $320 total including breakfast.
Many hotels near airports have parking packages where you stay one night and can leave your car there for the duration of the trip. So if the poster found a good stay and park rate, uber is a viable option to get to the port.

The ridge field park Hilton sounds like a good deal and is convenient but definitely not 10 minutes to the port, as has been said. Any of the hotels around 80 - Hasbrouck heights Sheraton, Teaneck Marriott or the meadowlands area are a quick uber ride to the port on a weekend. Not so much on a weekday. I wouldn't make the transportation to the port the priority over room cost and free parking.
Juneau taxi ride to Mendenhall driver rec
in Alaska

We decided to walk around Juneau to see the capitol building and then take a taxi to the glacier. We stumbled upon this great taxi driver Sonny Nierra 907-209-7097 who took us to the glacier and then on the way back, stopped to show us where the bald eagles hang out and then at the salmon hatchery and explained to us (outside) how the salmon ladders work. He was so nice and knowledgeable and it was like having a private tour guide. He dropped us at the glacier and promised to come back at a prearranged time, which he did. Just passing along for anyone wanting to do private transportation to the glacier.
