  1. Please cite your source for the statement that "tanks holding water on a cruise ship are not always 100% sanitary" as the USPH would definitely like to know this, considering the pages devoted to water sanitation and potable water system (including tanks) design, construction, and operation. I've worked in cruise ship engine rooms making water, loading from shore, maintaining the chlorination equipment, and following USPH requirements for maintenance and disinfection of water tanks. I don't believe there is anything you could teach me about cruise ship water systems.

I'd also like to know how much water you think a ship the size of the Sky carries around? I'm sure you have no idea, but I do.

  2. Reservations for the MDRs are really not necessary. The wait (even during peak times) is never long. And they will point you at another dining room if they are really busy (i.e. from Manhattan room, down the hall to Taste/Savor).

Thanks for the responses everyone. Yea its not a big deal but on our sea days why not.

  3. Hello, my daughters boyfriend may not be able to come on our cruise next Sunday. I purchased two excursions for him and was wondering if I would be able to get this money back, or is it just a loss?

You should have no issues dropping those excursions. We are on your sailing Theresa and have the excursion credit as one of our perks. That being the case I had to call to book and and was suprised to be told that we owe nothing at this time and would just be on our final bill on the ship because they would not take that credit off till mid cruise. This was fine by me because we have had excursions on past cruises get cancelled because of lack of bookings and or weather so this takes care of me paying for something ahead of time for something i might not get and have to deal with getting a credit or find something else to book.

  4. Thw last time we cruise on the Epic the last night we were at sea it was really rough and rocking side to side. The wife and I started our dinner at Cagney's and she made it as far as one App before she could not take it anymore. We had already ordered everything and they were super cool and wrapped everything up and had it sent to our room. Outside of it being luke warm it worked out great.

  5. I'm assuming from your screen name you've spent some time in Manhattan. DH and I were there from 1963 to 1969. DH grew up in Overland Park.

We've done 4 cruises on the Breakaway but never done a pub crawl. Love the Breakaway.

Yes Granny. Graduated in 2001 and now live in Olathe. Grew up in Leavenworth.

  6. The 9/4 cruise? I'll be cruising with my fiancee and another 6 or so people. we'll be on an almost constant pub crawl lol.

I feel like, with the UBP, you can just sorta go to any bar whenever you want.

Yes BrandoMan. I will be getting a good use of the UBP and maybe we can hook up at some point. My wife and I are 40 and 36. She will partake but not like me.

  7. Ok, I am not willing to miss that stuff. Thanks for the input though. Go Cats!

You will not have time to do everything no matter who you wish to book with. Very limited time and a 1 1/2 hour drive at each end does not leave much time. We did tour of Colosseum, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona, Capitoline Hill, Circus Maximus, Arch of Constantine and The Fountain of the Four Rivers. I loved walking the streets of Rome and getting lost a little bit. I just noticed the Go Cats! Heck yea. Funny thing is when we were signing the guest book at the Pantheon a guy came up to me and said the same thing. It was really kind of cool.

  8. You will be charged 18% of the price of what you would have paid if you bought the UBP yourself for gratuity for starters. It covers any drink $15 and under and if you want a drink that is more than that you just pay the difference. Yes there is tax to be payed depending on the port. Not sure about Miami but i know we will be paying it in NYC for our upcoming Bermuda sailing.

  9. My earlier comment when I said why I would not furnish details has proven to be very accurate.

If any of you are serious, contact NCL as I did, and they may honor your request.

Well I never pushed on that so keep my name out of your mouth please. You do you but nobody needs your two cents if you're not going to be helpful with your vague posts. Everyone else that has posted on this has stated that NCL has not budged on the rule and you are the only one claiming to have gotten them to make an exception so lets do the math bud. And nice backtrack with the second post.

  10. I won't do that. Too many on this board waiting to pounce on details to start arguments.

Dude all you do is start arguments so save that weak stuff. I'm calling BS on this until proven otherwise because I have seen nobody else with claims like you are spewing. You always have something to say on posts but when challenged you pull this crap.

  11. Many things happen on the ship and at embarkation that most people don't see or hear about, so the true picture is the number of people who post that they are seeking other cruise lines, not buying future cruise credits, and/or cancelling cruises.

I was prepared to cancel my booked cruises if NCL had refused my request for a variance of this policy, but they wisely approved it.

Why don't you you enlighten us on this variance of the policy you somehow got approved?
