  1. We will be on the Reflection TA in October.  One of our ports is Marseille and we would like to go to Aix from there. It looks like Ubers are available in Marseille, but we can't find any information about the availability of Ubers in Aix to get back to the ship. Does anyone have any knowledge about this?  Perhaps someone has other suggestions for getting to and from Marseille and Aix.  Thank. you.

  2. We purchased two open bookings on our cruise in October.  There was a special going on, and we had 18 months instead of the usual 3 months in which to assign the bookings to a specific cruise.  We did this last week for two cruises next year.  When we tried to buy the insurance from Allianz for those two cruises, we were told we wouldn't be covered for pre-existing conditions. It was explained to us that the purchase date was in October, and we were not within the required two week window for the full coverage, even though the cruise invoice is dated February 8, 2023. Has anyone else had this experience, and is there any way around it?

  3. Thank you everyone for all your good suggestions.  I am happy to say that, after a very long time on the phone with Celebrity, being transferred from one department to another, our insurance was added back onto our Booking Confirmation, for the same price we had paid.  Before our next cruise in June, we are going to look into getting annual insurance.

  4. We are cruising on the Edge on October 23, 12 days from now.  A few days ago we noticed a credit on our credit card, and after some investigation, we found that Celebrity had canceled our Cruise Care Insurance.  After speaking with a Celebrity representative, we were told that when we changed our flights, our Cruise Care Protection was mistakenly deleted from our reservation.  Celebrity is taking no responsibility for this, and we were told that we now have to buy the insurance directly from the insurance carrier ourselves because we are so close to the sailing date.  Celebrity will not help us with this.  We are very angry, and disappointed in Celebrity for allowing this to happen.  When we tried to purchase the insurance from the company directly, the cost is significantly more than what we originally paid to Celebrity, and it also excludes a major benefit, trip cancelation.  Has this happened to anyone else?  If so, how did you resolve it?  We are looking for a Celebrity phone number for someone who can actually help us.

  5. We are currently in Sardinia, on an Oceania cruise. We have been loyal Celebrity cruisers, but decided to try a smaller ship this time. We have been in Italy for a week, with rain every day except one. Not fun, but we understand some cities have suffered horribly from the storms. Because of this awful weather, we have missed several ports, most of them being the reason we chose this itinerary. We are wondering if this is due to our ship being smaller in size than Celebrity ships, as this ship goes into smaller ports. We never experienced this on a Celebrity cruise, so are wondering if it is happening to everyone in the Mediterranean, or just the smaller ships using smaller ports.

We are on vacation, so we’re ok, just a little disappointed. Can anyone tell us if it’s big vs small ships/ports, or happening to all cruises throughout the Mediterranean?  We hope these cities recover quickly. They are losing so much from cancelled cruise ships!  Thank you.

  6. When we cruise, each night I dictate a journal of our day's activities in the voice memo on my iPhone. When we get home, I transcribe my voice memos to text. It is a tedious process, and as we are getting ready for our next cruise, I am wondering if anyone has a better way to accomplish this. Are there any travel journal apps that you use and like?

Also, what method do you use to upload pictures at the end of each day? I take pictures on my iPhone, and my husband uses a Canon, so we have lots of pictures. Any suggestions will be very welcomed. Thank you.

  7. My husband and I are loyal Celebrity suite cruisers but decided to try something new. We are sailing on the Marina from Rome to Monte Carlo in November, in a PH 2 suite. Is there anyone who has sailed both cruise lines who can give us some information about what differences we can expect? How do the ships compare? Level of service? Food? Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  8. Don't forget the delicious, big cookies in the glass jars on the top of the case! There are usually three different kinds, and they rotate - chocolate chip, white chocolate chip, and I don't remember what else because I am very happy with those two choices! We often grab a few to take with us when we leave the ship on port days.

  9. We have never sailed on the Summit and are curious as to how it compares to the Solstice ships as we are trying to decide whether or not to book a Bermuda cruise. On our last few cruises we were in an S1 - on Solstice ships those are the corner aft cabins, and we are trying to get a feel for the S1 on the Summit. Does anyone have any experience in one and can tell us what they are like? They are right next to the elevators and we are wondering if that can be noisy at times. We are also considering a Celebrity Suite and are wondering if those have a problem with noise as well since they are right across from the elevators. Also, we have never been to Bermuda and are wondering if there is a lot to do if we don't want to spend all our time at the beach. Thank you for any insight you can give us.

  10. We are interested in a sky suite on the Silhouette-specifically 1668. Is this corner balcony like the corner afts on RC Rhapsody?

    Pictures would be most appreciated!

Are sky suites eligible for the new Luminae restaurant? Any other perks that are worth the extra cost as compared to CC?

When are you thinking of going? We are on the Baltic cruise sailing May 16 and we are in 1668. We specifically chose this suite because we were in an S1 on our Mediterranean cruise last year and we loved it - except for the noise from the Oceanview Cafe above, so we went down a deck this time. We loved it - the space, the location on the corridor (even though it is a long walk from the elevators, it is away from all the other cabins so there is no noise - like we were on our own cul-de-sac!), and especially the balcony - oversized with a 270º view - nothing like it!!! The percs are nice too. Can't compare to anything else - have only sailed Celebrity, but we love it. If you're not sailing until after we get back, I'll be happy to let you know how it was.

  11. Hello everyone!

Super excited as I've recently booked the 10 day Ultimate Caribbean on the Celebrity Equinox for Feb 2016! This will be our third cruise with Celebrity. Our first Celebrity cruise (and our introduction to cruising) was back in 1999 aboard the Mercury. Our second Celebrity cruise is coming up this May on the Summit to Bermuda. With this terrible cold winter and the 123Go promo - I could not resist booking the Equinox for next Feb.

I was able to book CC cabin 2149. I'm happy about the shade on the balcony and it being on the same deck as the pools.

I have searched on this forum and on the internet to find some more recent pictures of this cabin/balcony- or one of it's "sister" cabins/balconies on another S class ship. I've only been able to come across one picture from the balcony of 2149 and from that picture it appears that the view from above is obstructed by the overhang. Also, from the deck plans - I can't tell if the cabin is below the Oceanview bar or the Oceanview Cafe. From pictures of the ship - it looks like we are in between both.

I just want to get an idea of what to expect in terms of noise from above and the view from the balcony. And if anyone has anything else to share about this cabin or the ship - please do!

    Thanks so much!

    Suzanne

We were in 2151 on the Equinox for our 12 night Mediterranean cruise in October 2013. I think it is right next door to your cabin. Ours was an S1 - corner aft suite. We are going on a Baltic cruise this May on the Silhouette and specifically chose a cabin one deck down because the noise from above was aggravating in the early morning hours. They were moving chairs around to get ready for the breakfast crowd, and they constantly scraped them across the floor. This would sometimes be as early as 5 am. My husband is a sound sleeper and it bothered him only a few times - I heard it every morning. It wasn't horrible enough to ruin our cruise - nothing could do that! As a matter of fact, we almost chose the same locaton for our upcoming cruise because we loved that there was no one above us when we were on our balcony. But you are far enough out, so, with this information, I would think about it some more.

  12. We will be on the Silhouette in May, going to Scandinavia and Russia. There are several tour companys from which to choose, especially for St. Petersburg, and we would like to hear from someone who has already been and had a good experience. It would be great to get any insights from others. Thank you in advance for any help/suggestions you can give us.

  13. We are wondering if it makes any difference whether we purchase our trip insurance through Celebrity or another company. Is there a significant difference in cost, and, more importantly, is Celebrity's coverage adequate/comprehensive enough in relation to policies purchased elsewhere? Thank you for any advice you can give us.

  14. We are planning our tours now for our May Baltic cruise and are trying to decide whether to use SPB Tours (we are planning to use them for St. Petersburg) or a Celebrity tour for Berlin. Because it is a 3 hour drive from the port, we are inclined to use a Celebrity tour so we don't have to worry about getting back to the ship on time. Does anyone have any insight on which one to use? We would prefer the smaller SPB tour to the large bus tour from Celebrity, but is the possibility of getting stuck in traffic and not making it back to the ship on time worth the smaller group size? Thank you for any help you can give us.
