When we redid our membership a few weeks ago, it was 45.00 for 5 years and the gift was a circular version of the charging station, but it was for plugs, not USB ports.

I must have missed that.  Would have renewed for that.

When you're logged in to your account, click on "My Rewards" at the top, then "Email Preferences." Make sure the first 2 boxes are checked to receive emails. If you still don't get them, no worries, just get the codes here. 😉

It is this forum that I am no longer receiving.  I am getting my Allstate emails.

For some reason it always shows that in the beginning, but anything $500 or more will ship UPS, signature required.

If you don't have a UPS MyChoice account, you can create one for free and track it that way.

This was my 1st purchased from Allstate.  I have a UPS account, but nothing is showing there as of yet.  They usually send me a notification when they will be sending something my way.  Thank you for your assistance.

I can't think of anything to say other than to make sure your shipping address and your billing address are exactly the same. We had that problem one time and it will not let you buy the cards unless they're the same. That was with the old AARP Rewards for Good, which is exactly like Allstate Rewards, so I'm not sure if AARP's new system has the same requirement.

Thank you Organized Chaos.  Yes, everything is correct.  It is a looping problem on their part.  They finally admitted it today.  That it is a known problem for the last several months, but they don't want to say.  They would rather waste their customers time and tell them anything but the problem.  My IT guy saw it as it was happening and spoke up.  Otherwise AARP would never had admitted to it.  He said you can use PayPal.  If I wanted to use PayPal, I would have.  I get no benefits for using PayPal.  They also can't take the information and issue a card.  They are useless.  I am glad that I signed up for Allstate back when they were changing and messing up everything.  Thank you for your thoughs.

I have tried for the last two months, but every time I try to make payment it says there is a problem with the payment.  I had to get my IT person to speak to them.  They 1st say that it is my banks problem.  Then they say to clear cookies/cache, etc.  Come to find out that it is looping.  It is AARP-Rewards problem.  After several chats and I don't know how many phone calls over the last couple of months - I said this has been going on for several months when I have tried to purchase.  The rep finally admitted that there is a problem on their end and it has been going on for several months and they don't know when it is going to be fixed.

I have yet been able to purchase one since they have switched over to the new rewards.  I have also joined AllState and have enough points to buy what I need.  I was just trying to get a couple of the ecards to give to the grandkids for our Christmas Cruise.

  7. I just signed up for ALLSTATE Rewards, since AARP Rewards will be ending in a couple of weeks.  I though I read that once I downloaded the APP and got the account on my computer that I could delete the APP on my phone.  I am not tech savvy so I am not sure what I am doing.  I don't want to mess up anything.

Thanks everyone for your help and the codes.  Greatly appreciate all the assistance.

  8. Hi Pat.

What type of OBC did you get with your booking?

We only got a $50 OBC for the Cabin, not per person.

I thought that was kind of low considering on our last Journey's cruise we received $100 PP.

    Thanks.

I originally booked back in December 2016. No OBC at that time. There was a sale last week - May 14 &15 It was also a cabin OBC of $250.00. There were different OBC sales depending on the cruise. Our rate went up with the sale of $15/pp or $30.00, and give up the $100.00 OBC (from prior sale), so it was a saving of $120.00. I have never had an OBC of $250.00. I went on a Journey's Cruise in March 2016 and never got a price reduction (booked 18 months out), nor got any OBC. It all depends on what Carnival is trying to do and how much the ship is selling out.

  9. We are booked in a 4K on the Nov. 4th Journeys cruise on the Pride too. We did a Journeys cruise on the Pride in Jan. 2017 and were in a 4K cabin as well. It was nice to have the Full glass so you could see daylight and a little bit of a view.

But we never did open the door for fresh air. There WAS an upcharge for the 4K cabin.

On the Nov.4th cruise, we recvd an email offering an "upgrade" to a balcony for $400. Initially, we decided not to spend the extra money, but a day later we were considering it a little more seriously, but the offer had already been withdrawn.

I think we'll still have a great time on the cruise, with or without a functional door or balcony.

I wonder how John Heald feels about the change? What did he say about it?

You should be okay since the Pride doesn't go into dry dock until Feb/2019. They should still be French Doors. All the 4K are sold out at this time, so there is no description. For some reason they are trying to get this sailing sold out long before we even get to final payment. The OBC were crazy and the prices were falling everyday.

I haven't seen anything from John Heald, but I am sure others have.

  10. Yeah, that is what Carnival is doing. They are not changing anything on the description until after the dry dock has happened. It is very deceptive since they are fully aware that the change to the cabin is coming. The fact that they don't feel the need to inform anyone about the change is what really has me upset. In my case in particular (cruising on the Legend in September of this year - booked way back in July of 2016), Carnival seems to think that just changing the room description on the website is all that they need to do to inform me about the change. It is not reasonable to believe everyone is going to find this information on their own. I just stumbled across it when I was looking at booking a different cruise on the Carnival site and noticed the change in the 4K description. That led me to do some more research and make some calls to find out what is going on. I should not have needed to do that as Carnival should have informed me about the change, which they have known about for quite some time. My cruise is pretty much full as it is a very popular Journey's cruise and I only got the information less than 4 months before the sailing, so my choices were pretty much to accept the change or cancel my cruise. Changing my cabin is not an option. We are going to go and we will have a great time (as long as Hawaii doesn't blow up). However, I am more than happy to try to get the information out to my fellow cruisers if Carnival is not willing to do so.

Very thankful for you to take the time to let us cruisers know. I am on a Journey Cruise on the Pride, November 4, 2018. No one is booked in a 4K, so I haven't even been checking prices or descriptions. This is so frustrating. I have always wanted to book a 4K because of the French Doors, but I certainly won't be now. I like my Balcony. I sure hope that Hawaii doesn't blow up and that you have a wonderful time.

  11. Thank you. I think she is going to stay where she is. I don't think an Ocean View is as good as the 4K and they are on Deck 1, where all the traffic is when leaving for excursions. I am in a 8K in the bowling alley room, so we will have plenty room and fresh air in my cabin. We will keep an eye on this and see where it goes. I feel for everyone that has this happening to them now. I agree, that Carnival should be notifying people of the change and the change coming on the Pride and Miracle. They can put a disclaimer on the cruises that they are selling for future cruise after the dry docks, so guest will know before they book. It is really a shame that they can't be forthcoming on things like this.

I also have a cruise for the Legend - May 6, 2019 and they have changed it to:

    INTERIOR WITH WINDOW (OBSTRUCTED VIEW)

    LEISND_sm.jpg

When is an Interior stateroom more than an Interior stateroom? When one comes with a floor-to-ceiling window, letting sunlight stream into your stateroom. Your room will also feature even more space, a sky view through that window of yours, plus a seating area to enjoy it from. (Note that the view will be obstructed.)

I will keep an eye out on the Pride for February 9, 2020 to see when it changes.

  12. This is my main issue with the situation. Carnival is doing NOTHING to inform people that have booked one of these 4K cabins before the changes were made. I actually just pulled up the Carnival site and did a mock booking for the Pride in 2020. The 4K cabins are still listed as having French doors even though they are fully aware that those will be removed in Feb 2019. It is horrible and intentional false advertising. They are not offering anything unless you call them to complain. Even that is hit or miss, depending on who you get on the phone. Your friend's sailing is to far out, so it seems like they would be willing to let them make a change if they want to do so.

Best of luck. Please let us know what happens.

  13. Just got 4 $500 AARP Carnival E Gift card. So it is available now..hurry!!!

I need to get that many, but the pocketbook wouldn't like it. I am trying to get a couple of month for our November/2018 cruise. We will have to wait and see. Hope they stay around for awhile.

  14. Cruise cash is use or lose, BUT you can cash out at the casino. Any money left from actual gift cards is refunded in another gift card, but if you buy cruise cash with a gift card then cruise cash rules apply. Just make sure you don't buy too much cruise cash. If you have anything left over, cash out at the casino otherwise you will lose it.
