  1. I thought it said that they would not recommend this cabin. Something about a vent that made the balcony unusable..

    Best I look again...:)

No it wasn’t cold in Aqaba, but because Wadi Rum is the desert, it does get cold at night.

The best Azamazing evening we’ve been to was in Bangkok where we were taken to a park called the Ancient City which is full of one third size replicas of the famous old Bangkok buildings. We went on a little land train through the park to an area where they had set up a stage. There were cocktails and snacks to greet us as we got off the train. The show was great, traditional dancing and a kick boxing display. After that there were fireworks, then we were all given a little floating disk with greenery and a lit candle which we were invited to float off down a stream. We were then taken back to the buses on the land train through the park where the buildings were all beautifully floodlit, a really magical evening which couldn’t have been replicated on the ship.

That sounds wonderful... 🙂 I guess we see what the future holds....

  3. I would consider paying for the evening ashore if it was in a historical or interesting location. Its just a shame that we only just discovered Azamara...

Grandma cruising that was our first Azamazing evening, so from our perspective we thought it was such a special event to put on for passengers. We have only ever experienced cultural events onboard which has been like a show... We didn't feel cold...obviously the Wadi Rum would have been amazing...

  4. We just did our first Azamara cruise to Egypt Oct'23 with an Azamazing evening in Jorden. We were blown away that a cruise line would do such a great event. Was it perfect? No, but it made us book again. It was this bonus that made Azamara stand out for us and we loved it. We have Italy Intensive coming up in Oct and its changed from Opera at the Fort (which would have been fabulous) to onboard. Not my fav. music even though I have been to lots of them, but the setting, OMG would have been great. So now we may not go.

It becomes like other ships where they bring entertainers on... no difference...

Same - only 20 more days (you can spot me in red on Scarlett Night or in Pjs on the first night  🙂

VV has to take into consideration that this season was quite quick, short cruises, limited ports (mainly Tasmania) - and ask is that what consumers are after ??  It was very much a trial !!

I've love to do the Athens to Australia trip - and all the ports in btw (maybe 2025) - but I wouldn't be planning / booking anything that far out  (I got a good deal - with a $U900 bar tab)

Yes we got the same deal... we have red tops but no pj's... 🫢  We are spending a week in NZ.. A Big trip later this year...

  6. We were on the Journey through the Suez this last Oct/Nov 23. There was security of course, as we spoke to a couple of them. They did see some activity alongside but nothing to worry about.
The talk with the Captain and top officers was reassuring with sailing at this time.

A great cruise and we were so glad to get into our bucket list ports.

This was not our first Suez Canal cruise but our first with Azamara.

Let’s hope things improve, for all in this area.

  7. I think its sensible that Princess are removing balloons and plastic straws (except straws for people with disabilities).

Its fun for some but I care more about the planet.

Surely there is something else that can replace the drop...

  8. Every cruise is a great cruise, some are just better than others. I didn’t post this review to start a debate. It’s just our perception, one person’s opinion. For me the change of itinerary was not that big of a deal.Sure, it was disappointing, but you can’t control mother nature.

I’m sure those that had traditional dining, probably received better service and hotter food. I just don’t think Princess has perfected “Anytime”dining. We preferred traditional dining ourselves for many years, but have come around to the “Anytime” dining concept in recent years.

We have cruised on the NCL Epic and Breakaway over the past few years and loved all of the different dining options. Earlier this year we did an 11-day voyage on the Celebrity Reflection and loved everything about Celebrity.

I do agree that he 20% compensation for the missed ports, will make it hard not to do another Princess cruise in 2019.

I think if you had a more balanced review, readers might have appreciated it more. It seemed that you did not like very much at all. However thanks for taking the time to review.
