Thanks for the reply. We have it narrowed down to two ships and have booked both. One can only stay! The Jade and Dawn. Everyone here has recommended keeping the Jade cruise, but I believe my wife is going to win out and we will keep the Dawn cruise booked. Happy wife, happy life!!!
How does the entertainment and dining differ from Carnival / Royal?
Is the food better quality?
Pampered more on Norwegian vs the others?
I have heard Norwegian is a really good cruise line, so I am hoping we made a good decision. My first cruise was in 2003 with Carnival. Our last cruise was 2015 with Royal. And between those years and cruises things seemed to change SO MUCH!

Hello,
I have cruised multiple times with Carnival and Royal. We have always wanted to venture out to another company. We finally are!! What can we expect with Norwegian that we don't get with Carnival or Royal? Anything to look out for? Extra costs with room service etc etc. Better food? Better Service? Stuff like that! Thanks for your information. We have sometime yet before our cruise, so I will be trying to soak up all the information I can get!:halo::halo::cool::cool:;p

I would do the canal.
That's what I want. But the Norwegian rep talked my drive into the one on the Dawn. Said they don't usually do some of the ports that they are going to with the Dawn. I salvaged it by compromising to booking both and thinking about it.
Normally I would think a rep picks one over the other because price is higher. But the Dawn is actually cheaper. So it kind of shocked me when we called in about the Jade cruise and he brought up the Dawn cruise.
-
Can you do both?
Unfortunately, no. They leave one day after the other. If someone figures out how to be at two places at once, then I'm all for it!:'):')

Hello,
We booked to cruises. One in the Jade out of Miami end of November '18 and one at the end of November '18 on the Dawn out of San Juan. We plan on cancelling one of them, we wanted to book both so we wouldn't miss out on the 5 free sale.
Which cruise would you pick? We have never cruised with Norwegian before. So we don't know what to expect. Here are the itineraries:
Jade 11 night cruise:
CRUISE PORTS EMBARK Miami (Florida); Cartagena (Colombia);Panama Canal/Gatun Lake (Panama); Colon (Panama); Puerto Limon(Costa Rica); Roatan, Bay Islands (Honduras); Harvest Caye (Belize);Costa Maya (Mexico); DISEMBARK Miami (Florida)
Dawn 11 night cruise:
CRUISE PORTS EMBARK San Juan (Puerto Rico); Oranjestad (Aruba);Willemstad (Curacao); Kralendijk (Bonaire); St. George's (Grenada);Bridgetown (Barbados); Castries (St. Lucia); Philipsburg (St. Maarten); Tortola (British Virgin Islands); DISEMBARK San Juan(Puerto Rico)

Hello,
The other day I wanted to cancel my cruise through royal's website. I logged in and somehow found the link to cancel. I got scared and decided I didn't want to cancel just yet. Well after talking to the wife, we for sure need to cancel. Now I can't find the link for the life of me.
Does anyone know where I need to go to find the darn link? The embark date is 97 days from now.....
And I booked this myself. Not through an agent. I don't even see a place to make a payment

Hello,
I am not sure if this is ok or not, but thought I would post here.
My family and I are going to have to cancel our reservations it looks like. We have two cabins 12636 and 8636, both very nice locations on the ship. If anyone is interested in these cabins please let me know and we can arrange a three way call to Royal for me to cancel my cabins and for you to pick them up.
The ship is Allure of the seas and it sails 12-13-2015
Thanks!

We just went with him. We went on December 10th. It was FANTASTIC. The ocean then was not cold. Was acclimated very quickly. The gorge....That was cold. 62 degrees on our day. Not sure how much that will change, but Levi said it can get up to 72 or around there year round. He allowed us to jump in instead of walk in. If he allows this for you, I would highly recommend it. Our whole body got wet at the same time which helped us tremendously. It was a shock but nothing like it would have been creeping in piece by piece!
When you meet with Levi try and get a pass with the number 1 on it. If the group is large enough, he splits the groups up which he designates by numbers. Number 1 groups go with him. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED if you go with him! Just a superb guy with great knowledge. I would bring swim shoes though as the beach you go to is a bit rocky getting in and if you are doing the hot springs, those come in handy as well as it can be slippery.

We are here in San Juan and from the suggestions we plan on dropping our bags off with the porters, catching a cab and going to the forts. Here are my questions:
1. How early can I drop my bags off?
2. Should we drop off bags and go get checked in at the chief, receive our seapasses and then go catch a cab?
3. When will they allow you to check in (not board but get all signed in)?
4. Are there multiple forts to see and if so, which is the best ones?
5. Does anyone know of any camera battery places here in San Juan for a Nikon DSLR camera?

Thanks everyone...We may try both! :D

I have a Sunbeam Travel Steamer, but it's a wand style shape. I've taken it on every cruise, including Liberty and Oasis. I've always packed it in checked luggage, wrapped the cord around it (the same way most women wrap their curling iron cords), then I wrap my husband's belt around it. I don't know if that helps or not, but I've never been called to the naughty room. :)
That sort of resembles ours! So hopefully it will be ok!

Hello,
We leave for our cruise tomorrow and land in San Juan at 4:20pm. We will be staying at the Marriott Stelloris hotel. I would like to take my wife out to a fantastic genuine San Juan meal. Anyone have any recommendations? It would be greatly appreciated!

We will be on Jewel of the Seas. Why do you say it is worth the price of the excursion not to take a taxi?
What ship are you on? If you're docking in Crown Bay, the ship's excursion picks up right at the pier. I'm not sure if it's the same from Havensight. It's worth the price of the excursion to avoid taking a taxi to the ferry.Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Awesome! Thank you so much. How long did you guys have to swim / snorkel?
-
Once we arrive at the pier for Jewel of the Seas and hand off our luggage, will there be people there offering trips to the fort etc? I don't mean people from rccl, but like locals? Or would it just be best to grab a taxi and go?
-
We go to St. John almost every time we are in St. Thomas. We always do it on our own. It is very easy. Grab a taxi outside the terminal and ask to be taken to the Red Hook Ferry. The ferry leaves every hour on the hour. If you can get to Red Hook for the 9:00 ferry, you'll beat all of the crowds to St. John. Once on St. John take a taxi to Trunk Bay. There will be plenty of taxis at Trunk Bay to get you back to the ferry terminal for your return trip.
Are there any certain types of taxis we should avoid? I have read where some taxi drivers kick people out because they are tired etc? Also, is Trunk Bay the best beach? Do they have locker rentals, snorkel rentals etc?

Thanks. I will order it and see how big the box is. Might it be worth it to just keep it in the box so it shows that it is new and in the original condition?
-
Technically they are banned, but I know people that have gotten them onboard.
Any certain way better? Through check in or carry on? Maybe I shouldn't bring it regardless. I am sure they have it banned for a reason....
-
Can anyone tell me if the below product would be banned from being taken on a RCCL cruise ship? It is a ultra mini travel steamer. I am assuming it may, but thought I would check.
-
You are good with passports and SetSail pass. You may want a credit card too, but it's not required.
I believe you need to purchase a drink package around 3 days in advance of the cruise if you want to use the website. However, you can purchase onboard.
Thanks Bob! You keep this up and I am going to owe you a six pack or a whole bottle of wine!
-
When is the last chance you can add the drink package to your cruise prior to cruising?
Also,
All we need is our passports and set sail pass since we did online check in and we are good right?
-
For anyone wanting the power strip that Bob suggested, Amazon has them on their lightening deals right now for $12.90!!! They work great!
-
Has anyone ever done the excursion "All Inclsuvie St. John Trunk Bay Beach & Snorkel" through RCCL? Would you recommend it? Would you recommend doing an excursion of our own through another company to St. John from St. Thomas (Docking in St. Thomas at 0800 - 530PM)
Thanks!
What can I expect?

Both leave end of November, next year. Everyone keeps saying go with Jade. But there are ports my wife wants to go to on the Dawn and I don't think I can get her to change her mind....The dawn is port intensive, which is honestly ok with us. We have been to St. Maarten a ton of times, so we would just use that as a "Day at sea", just with most of the ship to ourselves!
