Hi! Years ago I could bring a bottle of Cranberry juice onboard Princess. Is this still the case? What about a 6 pack of pop and a 6 pack of water?

Hi! Thought I would chime in for Icy Strait Point. My family and I enjoyed this stop much more than Skagway. We took the gondola (49.00/person) up the top of the mountain where we watched two bald eagles soaring right over our heads. They have a nature hike down the mountain - and I assume up the mountain too. We did not do the zip line as we have zip lined in many other places and wanted to explore.
The free gondola is the one that takes you into their little shopping area. The other option is to walk the 1/2 mile to and from the shopping area along the really nice trail they have. The beach area is great for beach combing and I found the views to be quite wonderful. The only down side was we were on the Crown and arrived at 530pm when things were closing and then we had to be back on the ship by 8pm. Not nearly enough time for us to explore.
The shopping area is in an old cannery and they have done a great job of showing the cannery process back in the day. They also have other historical items to view. They also have a cultural dance at various times throughout the day. Again, since we arrived so late, they were not doing the dance. There looked to be a nicely paved road just past the shopping area where you can walk into the small town of Hoonah. Again, we didn't have enough time for that.
In summary, if you are fairly active and enjoy exploring nature, then I think this is a wonderful stop. If you like to only shop, they have a limited number of little shops - although we found some great local jewerly and art.

Thank you Streetking, Kimmy and Skynight for answering my question. We were excited to go cruising, and now knowing we have the larger balcony makes us even more excited! In addition to getting questions answered, I have learned so many wonderful tips from the Cruise Critic community and always enjoy reading what others say.

Hi! We are thinking of booking Caribe 632 for an upcoming cruise on the Crown Princess. Does anyone know if this room and the room next to it (C634) have the larger balconies (9x9 vs 9x6) that are found in the mid ship area? I have been told that some of the balconies on Caribe level are the regular size and some have the larger partial covered/uncovered decks. We want to make sure we have the larger deck as we spend a lot of time out on the balcony. Thanks for the help

Thank you for the replies! My lanyard has a plastic sleeve so no need to punch a hole and looks like I don't have to worry about a fitbit case yet! Maybe on the next cruise

I know the Ruby has the new meddallionnet internet service but can anyone tell me if it also has the new medallions or if it is still using the cards? We will be on it in May and I wanted to know if I should bring my old standard the lanyard for the cruise card or if I should get the little fitbit wristbands for the medallion?
Thanks!

How often do they change the events that occur on ship? We are on the Crown to Mexico in February 2016 and I'm wondering if the patters you posted from November will still be current in February? Thanks!

Thanks for the info! Interesting that one time you waited at a hotel and another time it was at the pier. Do you have any idea how Princess chooses what option to pick?

We are on the Mexico cruise in February and a few of us are arriving into LAX Saturday morning at 8:30am. A couple others we know are arriving at 11am. Will the Princess transfer take us down to San Pedro pier shortly after we arrive or or will we have to wait until the other flights comes in?
An option is to fly down the previous night so that we can be at the pier bright and early. If we do that, what's the soonest we can check in at the pier?
Thank you for your help.
