  1. Hi all,

After reading this thread I sent my insurance Company an email. Here is their response:

Your LV travel policy does cover cruises and you would be covered for the following

If you test positive on the cruise then that person is covered under the medical expenses of £10m to:

Leave the ship to quarantine / receive medical treatment including any tests needed,

This would also cover a travelling companion who has not tested positive.

And under Section N Part 1

Cover to re-join ship after an illness £1000

You are covered for agreed extra transport (but not taxi fares unless we’ve specifically agreed to pay for these)

So it looks as if LV cover a negative companion too.

  2. Hi Jenn,

No, were not at all happy with these cabins.

I see that 14256 on Bellissima is 1 person balcony. That's what it should have been on the Meraviglia as it had a double sofa bed that filled the whole room when open. You couldn't even open the wardrobe to get clothes out if one of you was in bed.

I do have photos, I just can't seem to attach them.

I can email them to you if you like.

    Michelle Xx

  3. We recently sailed on the Meraviglia and one of the things we thought was a real bargain was the teen spa package.

My 13 year old daughter had 30 minutes nails (shape and polish), 45 minute massage and 30 minute facial for £50, and she loved it.

I had to sit with her because she was only 13 and because I wasn’t having any treatments, but I just took a book with me.

I hadn’t read much about it before I went so thought I’d share.

  4. Something outside my experience, LOL! Can't even imagine that scenario. clear.png?emoji-wink-1685

My parents don’t have a credit card and like to pay cash. They ended up about 3 euros in credit on the Poesia at Easter. After a long queue to disembark and begging them to keep the money they refused to let us off until guest services had given us it back.

  5. There's no problem purchasing items even before registering your card - you're hardly going to do a runner without paying! clear.png?emoji-winktongue-1704

Just to clarify, you need to register your card at one of the kiosks within the first 24 hours. After that your cruisecard may be rejected by the crew when you go to order a drink, etc., and/or you'll get a phone message/note from Guest Services asking that you contact them. This has been my experience, anyway. Since the introduction of the kiosks, I'm inclined to forget to register my credit card as I don't carry it around the ship with me.

You couldn’t do a runner even if you wanted to, they wouldn’t let you off the ship on disembarkation day. [emoji44]

  6. Hi,

We’ve just returned from the Meraviglia and had a great time except for the cabins.

There were 5 of us in a Superfamily cabin. We were allocated 14256 and 14258 and were really shocked how small 14256 is when we arrived.

Any floor plans I’d seen only showed the sofa bed up. When we arrived in the cabin it was down. When it’s down it takes up almost the whole room.

You have to turn sideways and squeeze between the bed and the wardrobe to get to the balcony.

Also, the wardrobe doesn’t open enough for you to get anything out. My father gets up in the morning before my mother and had to get his clothes out the day before as it was impossible when my mother was still in bed.

On the upside, the balcony is huge (sorry, no pics).

In the other cabin, 14258, when the sofa bed is down, it blocks the interconnecting door.

The balcony is very small, just a bit wider than the chair.

I hope this helps anyone else with their expectations.

  7. Thank you so much for that Pete.

I stupidly didn't realise it was a guarantee as I never book those, I just thought I couldn't choose yet, as the ship hadn't been built.

There wasn't a choice between a normal cabin & a guarantee. Maybe that's the case with all superfamily cabins?

As you say though, I paid £2,500 for a week for 5 people including the drinks package, so I shouldn't complain.

    Michelle.

  8. Hi,

I have just been allocated our guarantee balcony cabins and I don't think they're very good.

I probably can't change them but just want to know what to expect.

Anyone have a picture of the aft of the ship so I can see cabins 14256 & 14258 please?

    Thanks,

    Michelle.
