DD and I had an inside cabin the last cruise. It was so stuffy in there...wished I had a fan with me then!

Jacks Shack has a facebook page....look it up. DD and I spent the day there back in February.
Its a 10 minute nice walk along the shore...you'll see his blue sign as youre coming into Grand Turk. Jack and Janet are very friendly....if youre a pretty girl be aware that Jack will try to sell you a Jacks Shack thong...he has them hanging over the bar!
Be sure to meet the resident dogs, Cooper and Topher....go to the beach and tell Topher to get a crab! Hilarious but stand back!!!
The jerk chicken is really really good and be sure to have Janet make you a Sandy Vagina...very good....I had 4, or maybe 5? I dont remember...lol
If I ever, or rather WHEN I visit Grand Turk again...Im heading to Jacks! It was a very good day.

I have a few questions as we will be taking our 1st Carnival Cruise in July:
If you purchase the Carnival Tumbler and the soda package, do you just hand them the tumbler each time or do you still need to produce the card? Also, how big is the tumbler and is is insulated like a Tervis Tumbler? Just wondering if I should purchase Tervis Tumblers for our 3 children and bring them with us.
Thanks in advance!
Denise
You usually have to show your card each time although at the Lido pool bar there was a really cool bartender who just refilled DD's tumbler for her and never asked to see her card. He always had a popcorn ready for her for movie nights too.
The tumblers you buy with the soda package are pretty nice (and of course DD HAD to have one)...we packed 2 Tervis tumblers and used them maybe 1 time. Was a waste of packing space to bring them.
The Carnival cups are around 16 oz I think...a good size.

we did the $95 one on the Glory 3 weeks ago and got everything mentioned except we only got 2 pictures. We didnt get an individual one with the captain.
:(

we booked as soon as we boarded. The tickets were sent to our cabin later that day.

we did this tour just on Saturday...was $95 per person for the 7 day on the Glory. Very interesting. lasted 4 hours.

While they have an amazing gift for food, YOU have one for photography! I got a WOW factor from your pictures, almost like being there!! Thank you so much for this fantastic review!:)

thanks, reading your review now. It says minimum age is 13, Im wondering if they are strict on this policy. It will be my daughter and I and she is 12. Now she isnt your average 12, she is 5'9" (almost) and can easily pass for 15 or 16. (Heaven help me!!) Do you think if she is standing with me when we register they will say anything?
Just her and I are travelling alone this time and I know her dad would never be interested in doing this with me. :(

Im thinking about doing this in a month with my daughter. Where do we sign up? I know the price was $95, is it still? Do you think its worth it? How long does it last? I heard we get some goodies too....do you know what they are?
Thanks in advance!

Corey Schmidt: DEAD
in Carnival Cruise Lines
Posted
John Heald's blog today is dedicated to Corey and does mention he took his own life. How tragic...:(
Paragraph taken from the blog....
Corey left Carnival in a blaze of glory, right at the top of his game. He planned to take his brilliant bird show to Vegas but things, as often happens in show business, did not work out. Eventually, he found his way into the movie business working behind the scenes as a location manager on big productions for stars like Adam Sandler. He found God, he found a beautiful wife and when I last saw him in 2010 when he visited me on the Carnival Splendor, I thought he had found peace and happiness. But I was wrong. I have no idea why he took his own life and it is wrong for me to speculate. However, knowing Corey as I did, I wonder if he missed being center stage and part of me can’t help but think that after years in the spotlight as one of the most successful cruise directors in the industry, he saw himself as being relegated to a bit part and that became his final act.
