Well, Freedom doesn't do 3 days CTN from Baltimore....reported to be a lightning strike. Try again. This doesn't fit the narrative you are pushing.

Really not trying to push a "narrative" as much as just making post. Some years ago my now ex wife and I were trying to get friends of ours to go on a N.Y. to L.A. cruise (17 days on NCL Jewel) they have never been on a cruise so they wanted to try one out first. They did a CTN out of Baltimore aboard Carnival, they came back with horror stories and videos, said they would never cruise again, and did not join us. Many videos on YT of cruises on Carnival I've seen of savage behavior, of all the worst videos I've seen aboard cruise ships, had one common thread (CCL)

I'm not clicking that link. Let's just say, if you get your news from tiktok, you get the news you deserve.

Its footage from the ship, there is a thread on the Carnival boards about the fire. I can post a link from CNN or FOX it you like. Cant get news/footage from social media?

  3. I was using a sextant I brought with me on my last cruise. The ships navigation was walking by and engaged me himself, told me in all his years he never saw a passenger with a sextant onboard, told me he had one of similar quality on the bridge. We spoke for about ten minutes, he gave me all kinds of pointers. It was probably the best crew interaction I ever had.

  4. I did this in 2004, I boarded in N.Y. got off at Cape Canaveral to refill my rum runners, then I was at a bar and met a local woman, wound up back at her place. She said you can stay for a few days since you're already on vacation, I had no problem with that since I got the cruise real cheap and been on the same itinerary a few times already. I went back to the ship packed up my stuff and walked off without saying a word to anyone. I never heard anything about it from NCL. Fast-forward a year I'm on a different cruise with NCL and only when I got back to N.Y. going through CBP they pulled me aside and asked about my previous cruise and informed me of some law that I violated. I had to pay $370 on the spot, and got a really cool giant red stamp that said PVSA violator (coolest stamp I ever got in my passport) Thats it  the fine and a stern talking to was the only consequence I had. I'd guess the fine would be higher today because this was 20 years ago.

LOL!!!  Not just little things...one of my buddies down in Texas (around Houston) had 2 of those big concrete lions on each side at the end of his driveway...house is only like 30 or 40 feet away.

    Somebody stole them one night!

Sorta like these but larger and heavier:

I had a cement lawn jockey with working lantern  stolen off my front lawn just last week, I loved that little guy, it was there for 6 years, it weighed over 100 lbs.

  6. Haitian gang leader Barbecue speaks, and issues a warning to the world: "Today, we are taking the occasion to tell the international community to give Haiti a chance. Because what is happening in Haiti now, we Haitians have to decide who is going to lead the country and what model of government we want. We are going to figure out how to get Haiti out of the misery it is in now." "Today it's clear that the people who live in the shanty towns are the ones who know what they are going through. It is the Haitian people who are going to take their destiny into their own hands. Haitian people will pick the person to govern them."

  7. The only concern here is even though they are across the hall that room may have a different muster station, in the unlikely event should you have to muster you would need to go to the station your booked room is assigned to not the one your staying in. Also you should take the ocean view, and have the 15 y/o in the inside room, that's cursing 101

  8. My favorite interaction with a crew member was aboard my last cruise, (The Getaway last January) I brought a sextant and a textbook on how to use it to teach myself. Who's walking by the ships navigation officer, he engaged me. He stood there talking to me for 15 minutes, giving me pointers, told me he had one of similar quality on the bridge, complemented me on being the only passenger he ever saw with a sextant and charts trying to plot the ships location in a dozen years. I had been drinking a little, so I had the courage to ask him if I could come up to the bridge, he said sorry not this time, and was on his way. I did however very much enjoy our conversation, and learned a few things.

  9. I've always viewed the situation as suggestions from the cruise line, for example the cruise line saying: did you forget your sunscreen? here's half a bottle, perhaps you would enjoy this book, did you forget your flip flops, try these, enjoy this pair of sunglasses, here's a half a bottle of water on us. Have I been wrong this whole time?
