Carnival does not have fountain soda at all - it is all by the can.

Ooooops!! LOL Goes to show you how many sodas I have purchased on a ship. ZERO!

I'm too tired to figure out the cost of a can. LOL

Folks will figure they need to drink ten or so alcoholic beverages every day to get their money's worth.

 

Not sure this is such a wonderful idea.

I figure it may be a money maker for Carnival. Especially for the itineraries with only two sea days. In the next year if Carnival is still giving out this option, then it worked out for them.

I myself could never drink near that many a day (two a day is my limit). But I do know many who easily could.

It will be nice to see statistics on how much people really saved or lost once this thing gets going on more ships. Many of the people who will lose money on this, will be the ones who will not say so. The winners will be on here full force. :)

So on a 4 night cruise are you paying for 4 or 5 days?

I own a restaurant, I only wish soda was only 6 cents, not to mention, everybody has more then one. A bib (box of syrup) of coke is $66, if I got 1000 cokes out of a bib, I would be in a suite. (LOL)

My company (more then 30,000 stores) pays 52 for a BIB. You know Carnival is paying less. You put ice in a plastic cup, you may be putting in 4 to 5 ounces of soda.

That takes the glass down to around 6 cents.

I agree with you. Strangely enough it is a unlimited alcohol package but the bottled water is a do or don't for me. I won't pay for the package and then bottled water on top of that. I still haven't figured out the reasoning. Water is much less expensive that non alcoholic frozen drinks or even soft drinks. Why exclude it?

A class of soda will cost the company around 6 cents. A bottle of water will probably cost them around 30 cents. So, the cost is much higher. Which could be why bottled water was not included.

I have had it on my last four cruises. I would not cruise if it was not available. I have had excellent service each time.

If I am going to rent a Cabana, I get there at 10:30. Both times I was in ZONE 1 for boarding. So that time will be perfect.

So it's 199.00 per adult AND per child? Yikes!:eek:

 

I know it includes priority tendering, what about lunch? Does anyone know how many rentals are available? I'm just wondering if they sell out that fast, and if we should be one of the first onboard to book?

I paid 225 for up to four people. It is not per person.

It's been my observation that the earlier I get to port and check in my luggage, the later the luggage arrives, VIP tags and all. I think the earlier stuff gets put at the bottom of the pile. Just my theory.

I agree. I am always one of the first to the check in and I always get my luggage very late that evening.

Okay.. hoping for some feedback.. We all know it is a nasty habit.. but my DH is a smoker - especially when enjoying a beverage.. (it is still legal).. and we want to know about the smoking policy. I am confused as I read that the adult aft pool was a no smoking zone.. wouldn't the other pool (where there would be kids.. ??) be no smoking too? Where on the Lido deck can he smoke? We have a balcony cabin.. and he is very considerate.. but it would be good to know ahead of time.

When I was on the Liberty, you could not smoke in the adult aft pool area.

I was on the festivale in January of 1996. I do not remember much about the ship at all. My ex-husband probably does, he never forgets anything. I do remember that we had to go up two or three stairs to get to the few rooms that had balconies. These were foreward near the top. I do remember having a tub and shower in the room. The balconies were a very nice size. We tossed the mattresses out there one night. I have no idea where those photos went from that cruise. If I run into them, I will post them.

I remember the itinerary. San Juan, St. Thomas, St. Maarten, Dominica, Barbados and Martinique. Perfect weather the whole cruise.

We snorkeled for a bit, but no good snorkeling off the beach. We saw about 3 fish all day.
