  1. Hello Everybody,

I was supposed to be going to Bermuda, but will now be going to Portland, ME and Halifax, NS.  I love Halifax, but know nothing about Portland.  Since we just found out and we leave on Saturday, it's too late to book an excursion on line right now.  What is there to do in Portland?  Is there a seafood place that is recommended?  Please let me know how to make the best of this situation.

    Thanks in advance!

  2. Hello,

I am currently an Emerald member and on the cruises that I’ve been on there is always an invitation to a Crown & Anchor event. The person that I will be travelling with will be on their first cruise. Would the invitation be extended to my travel partner as well since we are in the same cabin? I would feel uncomfortable just leaving them. Please advise.

    Thanks!

  3. Hello,

Has anyone gone Jet Skiing in Bermuda? Are there many options? I would like to rent a Jet Ski for an hour or two and also grab a fish sandwich on the cinnamon raisin bread. Can this be done in a few hours? I have a shore excursion planned as well and just trying to fit everything in.

Thanks for any advice and suggestions!

  4. Hello,

I am wondering if anyone could possibly recommend an excursion that would include Jet Skiing and snorkeling.  Also, the last time that I was in Bermuda (prior to the pandemic) I went to a place called Gombey's, which has since closed down.  They had the greatest fish sandwich on raisin bread and I have been dreaming of it over the years....  Any suggestion where I could find this elsewhere in Bermuda since Gombey's is now not an option?  Thanks  in advance.

  5. Hello,

Last year I was on a cruise on Royal Caribbean and very much enjoyed The Key.  I am going on a cruise this year to Bermuda where the ship is docked and not tendered... The amenity of most value to me was the ability to get off of the ship and to the tender without having to wait in long lines and also to leave the ship upon debarkation without waiting in long lines.  Since the ship will be docked and tendering is not an issue, is it worth it to get the Key onboard Liberty of the Seas?  I am just not sure of the value.  Has anyone done The Key on Liberty of the Seas?  What was your experience?

    Thanks in Advance!

  6. Hello Fellow Cruise Enthusiasts (or those who live for cruising!),

A friend and I will be on the Adventure of the Seas at the end of May and I have a few questions… the Itinerary is Bar Harbor and Halifax, NS. I did this itinerary about 5 years ago, but on a newer, much larger ship.
    1. Is Adventure of the Seas in nice shape and what are some of the best amenities that the ship offers?

    2. If you have booked the on and off bus in NS, what we’re some of your favorite stops?

    3. Is there much to do in NS around the cruise terminal? I know there is that shopping area right there in the terminal.

    4. What are your favorite things to do in Bar Harbor? Is there a restaurant that you prefer for Lobster Rolls over Strohman’s?

This will be my first “real” trip since … well.. you know… and I’m so excited!!

    Thanks in advance!

  7. I’m traveling in May 2019 with 3 senior citizens on Grandeur of the Seas. We arrive in Bermuda in the afternoon and leave basically 24 hours later. My plan was to take a water taxi to Hamilton and we will walk around and then eat dinner in Hamilton taking a taxi back to the ship. Does anyone have a suggestion for a nice restaurant with a water view? I’d appreciate  any suggestions.

  8. Thank you all so much! I have been completely stressed because 2 of my friends and I are celebrating the big 5-0 and this is our gift to ourselves. The ONLY thing that I wanted to do was this IFly thing. I didn't realize that you could book everything online in advance. I was DEVASTATED to learn that it was all booked up-- to the point that I called what I thought was corporate to see if there was anything they could do to secure a spot. I got 2 different stories: 1. There would be spots available when I board and 2. Whoever told you that there would be spots available doesn't know what they are talking about and they are going to look into who told me that. Too much drama. I was disappointed at the conflicting reports and that both parties worked for Royal Caribbean and two totally different answers. Thank you for reading and trying to assist. I will go immediately upon boarding to the desk to try to secure a spot.

  9. A party of 8- 3 seniors, 3 40's and 1 13 year old and 1 10 year old will be on Royal Caribbean with a stop in Cozumel. Normally, it is easy to plan when you are just 2 people, but when you have a party of 8 (with kids), it's totally different. I like to do excursions on my own so I'm not with 500 other people, but what would be the best way to 1. Find something that everyone will like and 2. Be able to move around together. I know for me, I want to go to Los Cinco Soles shop and possibly Pancho's Backyard, but I know the kids will not want to go shopping. 6 of us would snorkel... Does it make sense to just take a cab over to Chankanaab for a few hours and then go shopping or vice versa? Or is there something that makes more sense?

  10. We will have 8 people travelling together- 3 senior citizens, 3 in our 40s and a 13 year old and 10 year old. I know that the kids will want to go to Atlantis and experience all of the water park rides. I wouldn't mind just going to Atlantis to lay on the beach and see the resort and I think the 3 Seniors feel the same. WHat is the best way to do this (cost effectiveness)? Also, what else should we do in Nassau while we are there??? I need some ideas please.

  11. Will be travelling with parents (70s), siblings (45) and kids (13 and 10), what is the best excursion that we would all enjoy? Is Chankanaab a good option? I know snorkeling would be something of interest. I would also like to go to Los Cinco Soles for shopping. Any ideas to incorporate both?... or what are some other ideas??
