It's located in a tangle of highways adjacent to EWR and without ever having seen the inside of the hotel it is not in a location near restaurants so assuming you're flying into EWR and won't have a car this isn't the place for you. Consider staying at one of the hotels on International Blvd. in Elizabeth. They are adjacent to the Mills at Jersey Gardens mall, which has a number of chain restaurants on its property that you can walk to, including Applebee's, Chili's and IHOP . Nothing fancy, but you will be able to have dinner there.

Actually we are driving and meeting a friend coming from Maryland so we will have 3 cars and and can drive to jersey gardens( where we have stayed before) the room configuration is better here for us. So looking to see if it's clean and in a safe area, similar to jersey gardens

  3. Question: (not exactly on-topic but similar)

Now that they (RC online) have started minimum occupancy on certain cabins, could I book for 3 and remove the 3rd person later while keeping the same cabin? Is anyone else doing this?

Did this same thing for a May cruise for my son. He and two buddies were booked into one of the big ocean views on anthem. One buddy had to cancel. When we called to remove him they forced us to change cabins. Other option was to pay his fare and have him be no show at pier. So unless you are willing to pay 3rd fare you likely won't be able to do this. Crown and anchor rep even pleaded case to resolutions and finance for us to keep cabin, even tried using that it was graduation gift all to no avail. Was told as long as there is a cabin for (the category you originally booked) in our case an ocean view ANYWHERE on the ship for two we had to move. If we didn't pick the cabin they would reassign us at final payment unless we paid the third fare.

  4. Just FYI it is really easy to just keep your luggage when you park. As you enter parking area you can drop one person with bags as you enter. They can wait with bags you go park and walk back. Then there is a very large freight type elevator to take you down to check in area. It's really simple.

Dropping luggage I think I read on here requires you to enter drop off, drop luggage then exit back out of port area circle around to get in line for parking. Depending on when you arrive I would imagine that could take awhile.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, we have always done the park thing and are planning on doing that in May again.

  5. We would be coming in via 78 probably. At this point needing 3 rooms each having 3 adults. prefer one room with a king for me and Dh with our 15yo daughter. Other rooms will be in laws and a room with 18yo son and his two 18yo buddies so queens would be nice but doubles ok. Prefer moderate priced since basically for sleeping for one night. Hotel extras like pool not necessary as we will likely get there late. Decent restaurant on site to close by would be nice but not required. We will be in three cars and taking all three to port in am and parking there so no need for cruise parking.

  6. Oasis class is fantastic my hubby and I were on allure a few years ago. Loved it. Shows are phenomenal especially the outdoor water ones. We have also just recently done breakaway in a spa haven suite. Loved it. It was our first NCL cruise. Would not go again without the haven. As haven it's great. The spa suite also has thermal spa access included. Never did that before and it was nice. Absolutely loved the waterfront. Best part of breakaway for us.

In the end it's up to you. Either one will be great. Your on a cruise after all.

  7. We will actually be in this sailing. It is graduation present for our son with two of his buddies. We did the 9 day this past march and loved it. The ship has plenty to do as does Bermuda.

As for the school issue I agree we the others only you can decide whether to take them out. But they are young and would likely not miss much. And it's close to the end of the school. Bermuda does have a history museum that shows history of the island. Take the kids there and use that as part of the "education". Not all knowledge comes from school.

  8. Everyday the Flowrider is closed at noon for this very purpose. You may wash your clothes in the Flowrider then dry them in the I-FLY. Just make sure you have your name in your clothes. :D

Beverage package cups may also be washed in this manner.

Thanks for the laugh. Laughing so hard my eyes are watering.

  9. When looking about our upcoming spring break anthem cruise it looks like the new process is to check bags/get rfid tags. Then when you board the ship with the set sail pass printouts and don't get your sea pass cards. You get your sea pass cards from outside your room when the rooms are ready. However if I understand correctly rooms are still not ready until about 1pm. My question is what about getting a drink between the time I board and the room availability as that is usually one of our first things to do to start off our vacation. I know alot of people do the same thing. I can't imagin that Royal is going to let that revenue go.

Also can we not get the wow bands from GS until we can get in our room?

    Thanks for any information.
